Gameloft has been pretty quiet as of late with their BlackBerry 10 releases but the silence has now been broken in a pretty awesome way. Asphalt 8: Airborne has finally arrived on BlackBerry 10. The game sells itself as ‘A game for fans of extreme arcade racing, with real dream cars and phenomenal graphics that will also please racing simulation enthusiasts.’ and that’s pretty true.

  • 47 high-performance cars - Top licensed manufacturers and models like Lamborghini Veneno, Bugatti Veyron, Ferrari FXX and Pagani Zonda R
  • Race in 9 different settings like Venice, French Guiana, Iceland, the Nevada Desert and other exciting locations!
  • 8 seasons & 180 events in Career mode • Stunning visuals thanks to next-gen shaders, real time geometry reflection & other amazing effects for a new simulation of speed!
  • A detailed damage system like nothing you've seen before
  • Simultaneous multiplayer action for up to 8 real opponents!
  • A heart-thumping mix of amazing licensed music for your game •Featuring real tracks from Bloc Party, Mutemath & The Crystal Method!

If you happen to have a MOGA controller, you'll be pleased to know Gameloft has added support for it in this release as well. Check out the trailer above to get a better feel for the game and the graphics and if it tickles your fancy, head on into BlackBerry World where you'll find the game available for a reasonable $.99. BlackBerry World lists support for the BlackBerry Z10 and the BlackBerry Z30.

I noticed some game lag on 10.1 but 10.2 is amazing fast. I doubt it's the processor, I'm guessing something in the code.
And I know plenty of people that have been waiting for this game.

Andrew, download Real Racing 3 and never look at any of these crappy arcade racing games again...

The graphics are a step up from Asphalt 7, but RR3 still tops this in my opinion...

Hdmi is good but I don't like how the screen unrealistically twists almost violently as you turn. Makes me nauseous on tracks like Suzuka, and my timing gets thrown off. At least when you turn the phone you can twist your head a bit and dampen the motion on screen.

Posted via CB10

And what matters even more - RR3 is available for Q10, unlike asphalt. And for those, who never played it on Q10, 1:1 screen is amazingly comfortable for racing game, despite narrow field of view.

Sometimes devs release separate games for the Anbdroid system. Because piracy is so huge, so easy and so common, I found out that devs like the one of Badland released a purchase to unlock levels version of their game. On BB10 and etc OSes, it's pay once and get all.
I'm suspecting the case here. But this is just a hunch.

I noticed some games being free on other platforms due to ads. Ads that normally their bb10 counterparts do not have. That could be the case here as well and it is something I prefer.

Asphalt 7 was already laggy so I don't think this will be any better. Will wait for reviews.

Still great to see big names coming to BB10

Do you actually love lamp, or are you just saying it?

Thanks for continued support devs!...bb10 needs top apps/games on a consistent basis to attract different consumers

Well there is one game critical wave that supports it as well. Plus I have 10.2.1 and the Moga Pivot App....Dead Trigger 2....Prince of Persia work perfectly with the control :)!!!

Well yes I know, and I too have 10.2.1 with the pivot app and GTA3, DT2 and Ravensword: Shadowlands running. But to date Gameloft has only updated Minion Rush to support controllers before this. They claim Modern Combat 4 works with a HID controller, but no instructions on exactly how...

Posted via CB10

Hold up....Modern Combat 4 can work with Moga?!?! I wonder how we can do this.......that one of the main games I wanted to play with my Moga Controller...:(....

Same here bud. I've been trying to get the Android version that's compatible with the the Pivot app to work, but no dice so far.

Sent an email to them about what HID mode compatibility in their BlackBerry World description means...

Posted via CB10

WOW i would love to get those games on my Z30 :) How do i get DT2 and GTA 3? Any help would be appreciated please and thank you :)

Very easy.....you need to download aptoide store you can get the apk directly from them aptoide.com.Once you get it installed.....search for the BB10 store on the main websit and add it to the apotide store list in the program (I scan the QR Code using smart tags and open it with apotide to add the store. Then you can search for the games and install them from the Aptoide App in the BB10 store you just added.

Good to have on the platform. I genuinely like driving games a lot.
The higher the quality, the better, of course ; and this game looks to be in keeping with the high-quality rendition of the Asphalt series, which in my view has been nothing short of excellent.
But, I will NOT be getting into any further EA racing games, sadly.
No more in-game purchasing boulescheid for me.

I grabbed this one just so I have it.. the only issue is freeing up space to install it.. it's like 1.6 gb installed and about 0.9 gb just for the install file. Which means I need to find at least 2.5 gb free to install 1 game. I really wish you can offload some of the storage to the SD Card. 16 gb of internal memory is not enough...

I totally agree about the storage which is a bit of a joke but I'm downloading it now since it supports the Moga Pro controller..i will post a review once I get it and try it out

Good hearing big games support blackberry
That's what we want
Thanks dev and keep supporting blackberry

From My Sexy Q10...

We just need the end of the advert to say available on Google play, iTunes and Blackberry 10.

This is why no one knows about the good things on BlackBerry. No placement. Always android and iTunes, never on the BlackBerry store.

Probably because there are three BlackBerry stores (bbos bb10 and pb) though. Don't you just love fragmentation.

Posted via CB10

Sad my Q10 is not supported :( I would have loved to play this with my keyboard as I am doing with sonic.. Just to know has it been released also on winphone?

Posted via CB10

YES!!! PLUS IT HAS MOGA SUPPORT!!! I am going to hook this up to my big screen and play it with my controller cant wait!!!! :)

THANKS GAMELOFT!!!!!

Can crackberry contact gameloft to tell them to include BlackBerry 10 in their website as supported platform? Also with the link to download as they do with iPhone and Android.

Posted via CB10

The game is only $0.99 but the car packages are a lot more. Some of them are $99.00 each. I know because I spent $40 - $50 playing this game on iOS lol

Posted via CB10

One thing with 10.2.1 (1925) the tilt controls are reverse tilting left goes right and vice versa....just a warning......also with the Z30 the graphics are set the VERY HIGH!!! :)

Has anyone got their MOGA Pro Controller working on Asphalt 8?

I'm running 10.2.1.1925 with the .1926 radio and Asphalt ain't recognizing my MOGA Pro at all - I can't select it in the menu settings and doesn't seem to recognize any input at all

Anyone got a MOGA Pro that's working? If so, what device and OS version you using?

I am in the same boat same version as you and you won't recognized my Moga pro at all I have the z30 and 1925 leak and no deal :(

Posted via my awesome 5 inch BlackBerry Z30 :)

Asphalt 8 was one of the first Android games to support opengl es 3.0, the Z30 uses the adreno 320 gpu which also supports it....it will look nice on Z10, but smoother frame rates on Z30 and slightly higher detail

Posted via CB10

Is it difficult to write an app for 10.1 all the good apps are for 10.2. These developers need to understand that the carriers don't release the OS updates like they are suppose to and a lot of the developers customers get left behind from buying the apps. Please advise!

Posted via CB10

Okay hold your horses folks. It also appears they have done the same as with Modern combat 4 the Moga Pro controller is not being recognised and there is no feature to add a controller...Come on BlackBerry how can you allow people to buy something that is not what it says on the packet...very poor business practice indeed

Somebody please prove me wrong or am I just missing something..i think not since I can use Shadowgun flawlessly

Posted via CB10

I can't believe the file size, why so big?! I wouldn't download it for that reason alone.
How come angry birds go is a fraction of that file size?
Crazy....but just my opinion of course.

Posted via CB10

Asphalt 7 didn't seen laggy for me and the load times are fine. I have been waiting for this game for a long time!!

Posted via CB10

I guess since I'm on AT&T and not running any leaks this game is not available for my Z10, C'mon AT&T and give us our update already!!!!!

I flick all my words from my amazing BlackBerry Z10

The visual effects in this game are pretty amazing. They're doing the kinds of things one would only expect on consoles :)

Posted via CB10

Anyone have problems creating a game loft account with bb10 os? I can't get it to work and really want to play modern combat 4 multi-player

Posted via my awesome Z30!

Smh...of course it's not for the Z10......SMH!!!! BLACKBERRY never fails" to disappoint u

¢ʘƱʀƮ'ζ10

Damn 16GB storage... :-(

Now, I will be forced to delete some games again which I spent already number of days and weeks to play and achieve those levels...

Posted via CB10

Doesn't run on my Z10 !!!
Gameloft splashscreen is OK but then, it closes right away.
Is it because I'm running an unofficial OS (10.2.1.1055) ?

They have now removed from the game description the support for Moga Pro controllers very sneaky indeed and I'm seeking a refund. Purely because this a clear case of false advertising, anyone know the best course of action to get a refund? Any help would be appreciated

Posted via CB10

I sent into Gameloft for a fix and they replied that I should un install the app and re install it to fix the problem. Has anyone tried this? The email also says that the BlackBerry London is not supported by Gameloft so technically there is nothing that can do.
