If you're a gadget guy (or girl!), you know there is no experience more awesome than getting to play with that latest and greatest device you have been hearing about for so long for the first time. The months of rumors and build-up lead to high expectations, and there's that excited nervousness/awkwardness as you embrace the device for the first time. There are so many things you want to do that you just don't where to begin.... but you know where I'm going here... I FINALLY popped the PlayBook's cherry berry! (vulgar, I know, but I just had to go there). 

The last time I was this nervous/anxious/excited going hands on with a new BlackBerry device for the first time was with the BlackBerry Storm (that was a big departure/risk for RIM - and we know how that one unfolded). I didn't get that encounter on video, which knowing that device's history was probably for the better, but with the PlayBook we hit the record button. Check out the video above to see me touch the PlayBook for the first time and give it a bit of a walk through. The verdict? For that you can check out our more in-depth BlackBerry PlayBook review, but I can honestly say I'm even more excited for the arrival of the PlayBook after having used it than I was before. It was love at first touch!

I like to joke around too, but I have to agree Kevin....that line was a little bit over the line.

I think he was checking to make sure that such a nice device actually had a Blackberry logo on the back, and not an apple or something like that.

the Ipad is massive. Rumors are that Apple is coming out with a 7inch version aswell.

i guess the smaller size wasnt a bad idea after all if its true

The Playbook looks great, but I hope that it has the applications that we want when it is launched. That will be the key. I was disappointed in the application development for OS 6 thus far. I hope it isn't the same for the Playbook.

They mentioned "shipped with Kobo (reader)". I thought I remember back that it was (also?) going to ship with Amazon Kindle. No worries, though, as that will be free to DL.

I've never seen Kevin before. It was like seeing your favorite radio host for the first time and having them not look anything like what you expected them to. Haha! :) You, Kevin, are a lucky guy to get to experience the PlayBook already... :)

I love how people trash talk devices without knowing all the INs and OUTs.

Here's an idea --> How about you guys keep quiet and stop assuming until the device is actually out and fully functional. Nothing is set in stone until then!

On a side note the Playbook is looking mighty ssswweetttt so far! Let's hope it lives up to it's hype ;)

Way to use a line totally out of context. I watched the video and when Kevin asked about the games currently on the PB, the rep said, "I don't there is anything worth showing". Stop pulling BS out your ass and shut up. I guess you like your fart apps. Do any of the other tablets offer a messenger for that matter? For me I like the idea of pairing up your BB to the PB for BBM, I for one do not want to deal with 2 pins. If you like paying an extra fee just to connect your tablet over a 3G/4G then go get your iPad, that's money every month I could be spending on more apps. Having a wifi connection is more than sufficient enough for whatever is needed.

I'm going to be honest. After rewatching this video. Kevin kinda killed the anticipation of the this First Look w/ CB.. He was a total dwebe about it. LOL I wont deny I probably would have been the same way. But he does this for a living. He should have been way more prepared. LOL. Te videos following this one were good though..
