Foursquare is a social location-sharing application whereby users can check in to locations and earn points and badges for doing so. Foursquare users can add friends, see where they're checking in, comment on their check-ins, and earn mayorship status at frequent destinations. Some businesses even provide rewards to Foursquare users that check in at their location. Foursquare is BBM-connected so users can share their latest check-in as a status message. Though Foursquare is available as a BlackBerry OS and BlackBerry 10 app, there’s no official PlayBook app.
The last Foursquare for BlackBerry 10 brought a ton of new changes but it also brought a few bugs with it and a new update rolling through BlackBerry World looks to correct those. It's just a small batch of fixes but if you've have issues with the 'mark prior read' or 'delete prior' options, you'll want to make sure you grab this one.
The update should be live for most folks right now, if you're not seeing it you can try searching for Foursquare or refreshing BlackBerry World to help it along. If none of that works, just sit tight. It'll come along soon enough.Continue Reading →
Its been a while since the last update to Foursquare for BlackBerry 10 but it seems the developers have been rather busy. The latest release is now filtering through BlackBerry World and showing up on devices. It's a pretty big update as well as it not only brings a new, flatter look and feel to the app but also fixes a lot of previous bugs.Continue Reading →
With the last update to Foursquare arriving back in August, I suspected we'd soon be seeing another update and it has now arrived. This update concentrates on speed but there's several other changes within that make the version jump to 10.3.0.1342 pretty significant. Thankfully, we don't have to guess at what's been added and fixed as Foursquare has laid out a nice change log for us all.
All combined, that makes for a pretty sweet update and if you've not already grabbed, you can hit up BlackBerry World and get it downloaded right now. Be sure to leave some comments and let us know how it's working for you. Personally, it seems quite a bit faster to me but i never really thought it was a 'slow' app to begin with.Continue Reading →
It's time for another update to foursquare on BlackBerry 10. This time around, the app gets bumped into version 10.2.1.674 and includes a few new features aside from the typical bug fixes and performance enhancements that come with every updated release.
Overall, a nice update to what is already one of the best apps on BlackBerry 10. If you're not seeing the update as of yet, go ahead and refresh BlackBerry World or just hold a bit longer as it should be along shortly.Continue Reading →

A nice new foursquare for BlackBerry 10 update has started rolling out through BlackBerry World for all you check-in fanatics out there. This release sees foursquare for BlackBerry 10 get bumped into v10.1.4 and adds a fair amount of additions to the app overall.
If you're like me and often times use foursquare not to check-in but rather to pull up addresses, directions, store hours and more the updates to the Explore section alone make the update worthwhile. Foursquare thankfully, included a full change log with this release so here is everything that is new:Continue Reading →
Just in time for the arrival of the BlackBerry Q10, foursquare is in the process of rolling out a new update for BlackBerry 10 devices with one particularly long awaited change and a few other additions thrown in for good measure. We've got our hands on the full change log, so here's what you can expect to see different in v10.1.2:New In this Release: See the most interesting things around you, as soon as you open the app. When you open up the new Foursquare, we immediately show your nearby friends and the most interesting places around you. That’s because we’re constantly crunching our data to customize the recommendations you see, based on the time of day, how familiar you are with the neighborhood, and what’s popular at the moment. Also in this release:

Like always with app updates, it's still filtering through BlackBerry World so if you're not seeing it yet, just relax. It'll be along shortly or you can go ahead and check for updates to possibly help it along.Continue Reading →

Foursquare for BlackBerry isn't in the slightest bit new - but it is new for BlackBerry 10! If you like to be social and share your location with friends then you will want to have Foursquare on your new shiny BlackBerry. It seems to have become common practice to 'check in' to locations such as restaurants and bars etc. I'm not totally sure why - I suppose most of us now do it because we can, rather than actually using the app to meet up with buddies and share good places.Continue Reading →

Earlier today we let you know that Foursquare was updated to v5.5. What we didn't know at the time was what new features were included in this release. This all-new version, we have learned, now comes with something completely new and a first for BlackBerry users called Foursquare Explore. Explore allows users to find all the best places nearby without having to sign-up or sign-in. That's right, even those without accounts up can view recommendations for nearby places and top picks without being required to log in.
Foursquare with Logged-Out Explore can be downloaded by any BlackBerry device running OS 5 or higher at the link below. Be sure to let us know what you think about this latest upgrade in the comments below.Continue Reading →
It's been action packed this afternoon at BlackBerry Jam and one of the demonstrations that took place a short while ago was the new BlackBerry 10 foursquare app. The app looks pretty traditional and offers the same great features however with the new OS comes some new ways of actually using the app and the wonderful 'Peek' feature is certainly included.
BBM integration will still be heavily imbedded into the app so fear not all you 'check in' addicts. The foursquare app for BlackBerry 10 is looking great and today we have only seen the basics. With several months still to go before we actually see BB10 devices going on sale I'm excited to see what else the foursquare team can cram into the already awesome app.Continue Reading →
Foursquare fans today are getting another update to their beloved app, not even a full month since the last update. The update brings it to version 5.2.2 and brings a few small tweaks under the hood to make it that little bit faster and also brings back the Nearby Friends feature.
The small changelog looks like this...Continue Reading →

In the latest version of foursquare for BlackBerry, you now have the ability to use the included inbox integration. That means you may choose to have alerts from the app show in your integrated message box - a very cool feature for foursquare lovers. Now while there are some notifications you may want to see like friend requests or comments, there are probably some others you don't (like every single check-in). Thankfully foursquare lets you choose between various alerts and pick what you see and what you don't. Keep reading and we'll look at how to setup and manage notifications in foursquare for BlackBerry.Continue Reading →
Foursquare for BlackBerry has received another update today, bringing it to version 3.9. Added are some pretty cool features that keep it on top of my favorite apps list. Now included is message list integration, so you can view your foursquare messages/notifications right in your inbox. Also added is NFC support for sharing venues/tips via NFC providing you are on OS 7 - very cool stuff. You can grab the update free now in BlackBerry App World.Continue Reading →
Foursquare for BlackBerry is currently rolling a little bit of a bug fix update for users. The last release brought v3.8 to the table while this release bumps it up to v3.8.1. As noted in the change log, this should fix:
Foursquare for BlackBerry has received another update and now rests at version 3.8. The latest version is super snappy and fixes a bunch of small bugs and sports a new and improved Explore 2.0. Also fixed are some tweaks for CDMA users. If you're a foursquare user you should see some noticeable improvements in this version, so don't wait and go grab it now (yes right now) from BlackBerry App World. Read more at the foursquare blog.Continue Reading →
If you're a big foursquare user you've no doubt had times where you have missed checking in somewhere simply because you forgot. "Wouldn't it be great if I could somehow check-in automatically?" you thought. Well LittleBrother for BlackBerry is here to save the day. With this handy app from Emacberry you can do just that. After a bit of setup, LittleBrother will automatically check you in to venues you have specified, as long as you're within 50m for at least 2 minutes. While it works really well for the most part, there are some kinks. If you're in a large city or your venues are close together (as I found at CES in Las Vegas) you'll have trouble differentiating venues, so you'll need to choose just a few so you don't overlap and end up checked-in at the wrong venue. At home however where the venues I frequent are fairly far apart, I've really had no issues thus far. For more on just how LittleBrother gets this done and to find out how to get up and running, check out the full changelog at emacberry.com.Continue Reading →
