Foursquare v. 1.8.4 Now Available For BlackBerry Users

Foursquare just sent us a friendly email letting us know that they have just posted up the recent version for BlackBerry users. v1.8.4 can be download from the Foursquare website and just in case you aren't in the mood right now to download, notifications will be sent out to users over the next day or so advising to upgrade. This version is noted as fixing a lot of minor issues within the application that may have been problematic for users including fixes to permissions and focus/scrolling on Places screen.

Does this work over BIS? I recently cancelled my WAP/GPRS data plan and using BIS by itself and have not been able to connect since - any suggestions?

BIS goes OVER your providers wap/gprs connection. I'm surprised they let you do that. A data connection is ESSENTIAL.
What you CAN do is cancel BIS and keep gprs, but you won't be able to access any blackberry specific apps (e-mail, maps, etc...)

On my storm i'm still having problems. Are other storm users able to do anything inside the app besides check in and go through the top tabs? when in a friends profile, can you click on the email, or facebook, or location sections?

Idk why but I just can't get into this app! There is no motivation... I don't care if I'm the "Mayor" of a certain location... I want a tangible reward for checking in a certain places on a regular basis.
Gowalla has started awarding tangible coupons etc. too bad they are dragging their heels about releasing an actual BB App. m.gowalla.com is horrid on the BB Storm!

Great tool, but seems not working when releasing the option show in Facebook (using version 1.8.4 with Bold 9700)! All my friends using iPhone can do it ... :-(
Any similar experiences or ideas?

EXACTLY! My problem with Foursquare as well! I also have the 9700 and although I have emailed them in regards to this issue I have received NO feedback as to when this may be fixed or if they are even bothering to try =-(
