Foursquare for BlackBerry v3.9 now available - Adds NFC, message list integration and more
Foursquare for BlackBerry has received another update today, bringing it to version 3.9. Added are some pretty cool features that keep it on top of my favorite apps list. Now included is message list integration, so you can view your foursquare messages/notifications right in your inbox. Also added is NFC support for sharing venues/tips via NFC providing you are on OS 7 - very cool stuff. You can grab the update free now in BlackBerry App World.

It showed as an upgrade for me on my list of apps, but when I went to install it, it wasn't there.
Twitter says there is an update as well, but it isn't showing up in App World either. Odd.

The fixed version for 5.0 is now in app world 3.9.1
If its not showing up do an alt+rst and it should be there

We have found the problem for 5.0 users and are working on the fix now. Sorry about that!

Has anyone had any problems with finding their location? I was in Hong Kong a couple weeks ago and my friends on the iphone could check in over wifi, but I couldnt find my location. Even when I'd check in off of their check in, it would say 'too far'. Anyone?

I completely hate that foursquare notifications are now showing on my Messages icon, anyone know how to remove this annoying new feature? I have went into settings and notifications and couldn't find a thing that says show in messages folder or something, SOS !!
wfubball Apr 27, 2012 at 8:49 pm
The message list integration replaced the popup notifications. To turn it off (make the messages not appear) you need to turn off your device push notifications in settings->notification settings. Or go to foursquare.com/settings/notifications

So with this new version there is no way to keep my Push Notifications but avoid them from displaying on the Messages icon? If that's the case, I don't like that

The phrase NFC support is tossed around a lot these days in general terms but can someone explain what Foursquare can actually do with NFC? Im stll waiting for YALE to actually release their NFC doorlock and mobile app..

I hope this works. I haven't gotten any pop up notifications ever. I looked it up and apparently a fix was on the way. Installing now.

It worked for me, but as it was previously mentioned the notifications appeared in both my messages and a separate list for Foursquare
