The last Foursquare for BlackBerry 10 brought a ton of new changes but it also brought a few bugs with it and a new update rolling through BlackBerry World looks to correct those. It's just a small batch of fixes but if you've have issues with the 'mark prior read' or 'delete prior' options, you'll want to make sure you grab this one.

  • Fixes issue where Foursquare would open when doing mark read prior or delete prior from the Hub.
  • Fixes issue where you could not open Specials from the place page
  • Other bug fixes

The update should be live for most folks right now, if you're not seeing it you can try searching for Foursquare or refreshing BlackBerry World to help it along. If none of that works, just sit tight. It'll come along soon enough.

Cool that was really starting to pi$$ me off lol. I normally log in via my Pebble and Talk2Watch anyway but glad there is a fix.

I actually have met a few people on Foursquare in my small town. It's fun but I don't live by it by and means. :)

You can advocate for people to use Foursquare. City Hall, restaurants, and any place that want to make people come without spending money in apps.

Does anyone know how to change the map services from blackberry maps to any other third party map service, as blackberry maps is not supported in my country. Help would be appreciated.

Just download the Amazon or 1mobile market app store and get a load of map choices there!

Good luck!

Download Waze from BlackBerry World. Great Map and social, too.

What's the best use of foursquare. I couldn't care less about checkins of people I know. Anything else i'm missing?

Going to a new venue, I always check foursquare 's review on the venue's specials and what to avoid.

What exactly does this app do again? Does it just tell you how far restaurants are? Whenever I use it it's all the same distance, like 7miles apart. When I want a cheeseburger I sort of just use google maps. I know I'm probably missing the point, and if I am, someone help me out and understand what this app is for?

It looks like the yellow pages on steroids. If you turn on the GPS, it will detect the nearest shops, venues, groceries, malls, bars, etc. If the place has a special running, it will be marked as such and you will get a discount if you "check-in" using the app. The social aspect is that each place is rated by FourSquare users and you can checkout reviews and comments. The home page shows comments and reviews of your friends that you can 'tap to like'. If you check into one of these places, you can write your own review. That's what I think it's for anyway.

Oddly enough I never had any of those issues but when I got the last update I didn't get notifications in the hub anymore. Maybe this will fix that now too.
