Foursquare issues maintenance release with bug fixes

Over the weekend foursquare dropped a new BlackBerry update, but there were still some underlying bugs that users wrote in about. Today they issues a maintenance release that fixed some of the issues. The new version added check-in photos, however comments are still absent but should come in an update shortly. Fixes in this alpha release include:

  • Resolution of screen lock up issue after login on some devices
  • Resolution of checkin results lock up issue on some devices
  • Resolution of "send to twitter/facebook" not showing
  • UI fix with viewing photos on a smaller device
  • Landscape/Portrait rotational fix on some touch devices

Good deal, I was going to say I've been having issues with the checkin results not showing up on my device. Way to jump on it foursquare!

I installed, rebooted, but now homescreen icon won't launch app. Not even an error msg. All permissions set to Allow. Have no idea why the app won't launch?! Downgrading back to previous version.

I've been using SocialScope to check-in on Foursquare (and Twitter and Facebook) for the past few weeks, and I'm honestly thinking about keeping it and not bother with the Foursquare update...at least for now, since SocialScope is still in beta. I always know who's checking in on Foursquare when and where, with no functionality lost.
