Ford's Sync 3 system made big waves at CES due to the switch from a Microsoft-based platform to QNX, which is exciting enough on its own, and with an entire platform overhaul like that there's bound to be some new features involved. John and Derek took a few minutes to talk with Jim Buczkowski, Director of Research for Electrical and Electronics at Ford, to figure out what some of those changes will look like and when the first Sync 3 systems can be expected. Much like our hands on with the infotainment system, there's a lot still being finalized for production. It's the kind of change that is likely to cause someone shopping for a car to hold off a bit just in case, and it's looking more and more like Sync 3 is going to be a lot of fun to play with when it finally launches later this year.
