Sweet, might save me from looking things up on the desktop now or printing out lists when going to the store.

Awesome. I actually had Chef Michael Smith (Chef @ Home) playing on my TV yesterday. Food shows are much better than watching the news, that's for sure.

I noticed in the picture above that there is a tab for video. The app I downloaded didn't have that option. But everything else looks the same. Is that something that's coming later? The video?

It's too bad its a Canadian app (not that I don't love our neighbor to the north, but realized none of my favorite chefs are on this app). I wonder if there's an ETA on the US version of Food Network doing this anytime soon?

Just Went to the site on my 9530 Storm and it says that it is not a supported device. the site says BlackBerry® Storm™ 9500 Series is supported. must not like OS 5

You may want to try again- works great on my Storm :) Sometimes those things are flukey.

Not worried about the video feature, but I like being able to look up recipes anytime I think of it or need to, rather than when I am at work or at home in front of computer. Not having to print, or re-type ingredient lists in my BB notes, is a plus too!

Just installed this on my Storm and works fine. Not sure what you guys are talking about. Didn't crash my .122 buggy POS device either surprisingly! LOL

Yes, I'd also like to see the US version of this app, but for now the CA version will do just fine. It's a nice UI to be able to look up recipies, save them into favorets and see what I need when I'm at the store.

In case you didn't know, there is a mobile site.

From the FoodNetwork.com site
* Text GetFN to 36636 and we will send the mobile link to your phone via text message.
* Type mobile.foodnetwork.com into the browser on your Internet-enabled mobile device.

Only problem is the video I tried to watch wasn't in a format my Storm could read appearetnly

Just a plug for my friend's company that developed this for the Food Network. Polar Mobile has been doing some fantastic work for the likes of Maclean's, Canadian News, The Street, and The Hockey News.

They constantly update the apps with bug fixes and new features. Great group of guys, I'm really proud of what they've done. Hope everyone enjoys the app!

Works fine on my Storm 9530. When I first opened the app, the loading screen did not completely load. Close out of the app and reopen....this worked for me.

THIS APPLICATION FRIED MY BOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Installed the stupid thing; told me about an uncaught exception; did a battery pull figuring it may help to start fresh, downloaded a second time, and came back with something about memory. Another battery pull and CAME BACK WITH A WHITE SCREEN WITH AN ICON AND BELOW IT SAYS: RELOAD SOFTWARE: 552!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT IS THAT 552 CODE?????
THIS MAY BE A VIRAL APP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
NOW WHAT DO I DO????????? HEEELLLLLLPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Me like an obstinate moron went and tried for the last time to install it to see what would happen and sure enough it killed it AGAIN! :-)
Now I know how to revive my BB, so I will stop shouting, but CrackberryKevin, please send a request to the canucks to rename the app to the "Fried Network" instead? :-)

Food Network is like the screen saver on the TV's in my house. The wife is addicted. She will love this app. It would be nice if they did a US version or even a combined US/Canadian version so you could get the recipes you see on the shows in your market. Was wandering about the video myself. Does not show up in the Storm 9530 version I downloaded and seems like it would be a pretty cool feature if the videos will play. Application worked flawlessly on my 9530 with .151 on it. I don't think to many programs play nice if you have 5.0.0.140 so that may be the problem some of you are having.

...on my 9530 Storm. Nice to have an App that helps with my food addiction LOL... Thanks guys.

I LOVE THIS APP!!

Posted by Druhue Sunday, Jul 26, 2009 1033 days ago

Canadian launch first..and I doubt we will even see a US version..if we do..who knows how long it would take. You'd think that since we consume so much food (and have so many more viewers of the Food Network than Canada) we would see an app...but maybe not...maybe my logic is skewed and most of america really does just get takeout or eat frozen crap.

Posted by rorosz Sunday, Jul 26, 2009 1032 days ago

Instead of the "Fried Network".ca you can just point your browser to http://mobile.foodnetwork.com and you will hit the US version. After all, this so called app is just an icon with a link no?
Voila!
Oh yeah, and this one didn't kill my Bold...

Only thing i don't like about this app is they don't have the U.S. cooks in that app. Like Paula, or the host from Everyday Italian.

Is there a US version of this app?

Posted by PolarMobile Friday, Aug 14, 2009 1013 days ago

Hi Everyone - thanks to all of you who have downloaded our applications. We're very excited about FoodTV Canada and want to give all BlackBerry users the best recipe experience possible.

For those of you who received a "Not Supported" message on the download site, you can try changing the Browser Identification (under Options -> Browser Configuration) to "BlackBerry". That should help you when visiting http://m.foodtv.ca/

The app should work on all BlackBerry Storm devices. If the above didn't work for you, and you still can't get to the download link, you can email us (support@polarmobile.com) and we'll send you the direct link to the download. Just include your BlackBerry model number when you send your email.

For those of you asking about video - the video feature requires OS 4.6. Also, certain carriers are known to have video issues. If you are on an unsupported OS or an unsupported carrier, the Video tab is automatically hidden.

For those with installation troubles - we have tested the app on all BlackBerry models that are listed as supported at http://m.foodtv.ca. If you have problems with a supported device, you can email us at support@polarmobile.com for free technical support regarding your issue.

The best thing you can do right now about the US chefs is to let us know that you want this feature by emailing us. We can then share your feedback with FoodTV.

Cheers,
The Polar Mobile Support Team
