Want some native BlackBerry 10 Flappy Bird action? Herbie is back!

Flappy Hervie

Flappy Bird may have taken the mobile gaming world by storm recently but the word on the street is that the developer has pulled the game from both Android and iOS and with no plans for a Windows Phone release. We've been able to play the game on BlackBerry 10.2.1 thanks to the easy loading of Android APK's, however for us BlackBerry 10 users there's a new kid in town.

Flappy Herbie Saga: Trolls Of The Forest is now available to download from BlackBerry World. You may well recognize Herbie as he's the star of the popular game FlyCraft which we've featured a few times here at CrackBerry. Flappy Herbie is much the same as Flappy Bird but native BlackBerry 10 and in fact only took 18 hours to write!

Available for all BlackBerry 10 handsets and free to download, you get the same challenging concept as you do with Flappy Bird, just this time with a familiar character. Herbie doesn't make the game any easier though - I am still totally useless, but considering how popular Flappy Bird has been I'm sure you'll be grabbing Herbie and giving him a go.

If you die in the game you'll have the option to continue playing via the use of gems. Once you run out of the free ones you can purchase more through an in-app purchase if you desire, but it's not a requirement.

Features of Flappy Herbie include:

  • Simple one touch controls so you can play anywhere and single-handedly
  • Featuring the hero from the award winning game FlyCraft
  • Share your scores on Facebook
  • Sweet graphics
  • Collect red life gems
  • Use Life Gems to continue from where you died
  • Relaxing Zen quotes and music for calming down when feeling the need to throw your phone on the wall

Let's see if you can get a higher score with Herbie than you could with that bird?

Hahaha not too shabby. Secondly, guess herbie realized she could ditch her flying machine once she found out she could actually fly! Hahaha

Haha hopefully there is no copyright infringement with this game...good jerb, Flappy Bird.

Mmm...CB10! Just the tip though...

That guy who made flappy birds closed it down. Ppl went nuts. Read the disclaimer lol is this game that bad?? Hahaha unreal

$50,000 a day, bring it on,heck people here who post First take more criticism than he probably does,HAHAHA,Suck it up and donate the money if you don't want it.

letters from nintendo, also the thought that people were wasting their lives is what made em take it down. He did not want to be responsible for that. heck the guy made close to a million bucks in under a month.

If they pull it from the Appstore and Google Play, it will be a BlackBerry exclusive to have Flappy Herbie.

I loved the Herbie VW beetle stuff. Great to see him flapping here!

iPhone for me? Scr... ahem Q that! (posted from the latter)

Lol, cool, can't wait to try it. I thought Hill Racing was better than Hill Climb Racing.

The game isn't bad at all!! I think it's better because you get gems to continue where you died...

Flappy bird is not an original game. This type of game play is been around normally found as a helicopter game..

Never really like this game play. Im surprised a lot of people liked it

Playing flappy bird on z10 but this is much better. Native of BlackBerry beat every other app of other OS

This game might actually help blackberry 10 to sell. Actually better than flappy bird, better graphics etc. Great job developer.

This is way better than the original. Feels like Flappy Birds but way better graphics and very fluid.

Yeah I suck at it just like Flappy Bird.

My kids are going to love it.

Hilarious! I did not even get around to try Flappy Bird yet, but now that there is an In Your Face BB10 option, I'll give that a go. Just to boost BB10...

I saw this too... pretty insane... I wonder if these people know how readily available the apk still is..

i have both the original and this bb10 version on my q10; bb10 version is quite a bit nicer..

Much better than Flappy Bird. Built for BlackBerry apps are so much better. I feel like I need to put a condom on my phone before downloading an Android app.

A bit different from Flappy bird. Here we have to tap and slide upwards for Herbie to fly, unlike just tapping in the former. Feels like the extra gesture makes it harder than Flappy bird. @.@'''

Don't know flappy bird but herby feels great with that extra gesture

Wenn du mir sagst, was dort draußen richtig ist, werde ich nicht mehr versuchen dich zu küssen... (Sayumi Whisp) www.sayumi.de

The game is for sale @ 5 Million and will be removed from app store soon.

It makes up to 50k per day ad revenue. lol

This one is better than Flappy Bird. No stolen sprites, original designs, and actual music. Plus the movement is more fluid.

This developer is great. Still love FlyCraft on my PlayBook.
I know that Blaze even wrote in the comments section not too long that the PB is dead and blah blah blah.
But........ Forget these lames.
How about making this available for my supposedly " late great" PlayBook as well?
Come on, you know you wanna!

Hey. Just for the record, I know that it probably wont be the best use of your resources to work on a version for the PlayBook. I completely understand that. Just wishful thinking on my part. :-D

On eBay.. Someone is selling his iPhone with flappy Bird installed on it for 25,000 £
