FCC Approves BlackBerry Bold 9650

Usually we hear about FCC approvals earlier on in the life of a device, but this one comes less than a few weeks from the launch of the Bold 9650. The device was officially announced last week, and we already know it will be arriving at Sprint on May 23rd. No statement from Verizon just yet, but if all goes as planned we should be hearing from them very soon. Nothing major to report on specs from the FCC docs here either. The actual documents are kind of a pain to read, so you're best bet is to just take our word for it. If you're feeling bold you can check out the full docs on the FCC site.

FCC Approves BlackBerry Bold 9650

This is good news. At least this phone isn't a figment of someone's imagination.

I really wish VZW would say something about a date for this phone. I'm on 8330 & really looking forward to the upgrade! Hopefully new BlackBerry cell phone soon!! :)

I stopped into a Sprint store 2 days ago. The sales people there claim their release will be May 16th. Can anyone else confirm this?
I'll be replacing my 8130 with the 9650. The old Pearl requires memory clearing and QuickPull almost every day now. Bring on the 512mb!!

What is taking VZW so long to announce it????? At first i thought this phone was lame but like a true crackberry addict i'm now fiening for this phone. JUST DROP ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!!

I totally agree with you! I don't understand why they aren't saying anything. They weren't afraid to say when the droid incredible was coming out!
