If you are participating in the Facebook beta through the BlackBerry Beta Zone, then you will be happy to hear that v2.0 was just updated. This version apparently fixes an issue a lot of users were reporting regarding signing in to the app. If you aren't currently a member of the Beta Zone then unfortunately this update isn't available to you. It's never to late to sign up to be a beta tester though, so head on over to blackberry.com/beta and get registered! You may even win a prize next week for being a member of the Beta Zone as RIM is having a celebration for reaching over 100,000 Beta Zone participants.

For those that have to cut and paste. Open the email press menu, click select. That will give you a curser to cut and paste.

The best part is that Facebook chat works again! That was my problem after I upgraded to 5.0.0.526. Now it all works.

The one thing I noticed in the last version was the cursor seemed to be sped up on the facebook navgation screen. And it was a little hard to pick notifacations there. I hope it's easier now

MAJOR props to BB Beta!!!!!!!!! If you are a true @crackberry addict then this opportunity from RIM is up your alley.
I just download the FB 2.0 and i am very impressed. I like seeing all the notifications in one place and the chat feature is sweet!!

Damn!! Seeing all of the good things came out from RIM since OS6 has been the best of all!! So bad that they lefted out my 8500's with noo OS6 Capabilities :(
Oh well, guess next year, I won't be getting another smarthphone without possible update (I.e Samsung's Phone) for example : a nexus one that released with Eclair has been updated to GingerBread and will be getting every update and google (also the brother of it, NexuS)

Now the chat is working, I think this is the best Facebook app ever. Also, RIM needs to improve on how Facebook chat nortifications work. New chat will show up with a red star, but it won't tell you who contacted you unless you open up the Facebook app. I hope they fix that.

I'm from Mexico, and as soon as I try to register, the blackberry beta page says that the service is not given @ my country.
Can someone post an alternate link for this sw??

It's odd to me that so many users were having issues with FB chat and/or logging into the app. Me personally, I haven't had ANY problems what-so-ever. Notifications have been coming thru perfectly, FB chat seems to work almost instantly. Needless to say, I haven't missed a single bit of info since the release of Facebook 2.0 in the Beta Zone.
To be honest, I was hesitant to even update to the new version because the previous version had been working great for me! But, of course, I couldn't resist the temptation knowing their was a newer version...so I updated! As far as I can tell, everything is working like it should be. Only been using it for about a day now tho!
Anyway, thanks for the heads up CrackBerry! :)

yeah i get what u are saying and everything in the facebook app has been working for me to just im not gettin any notifications... like sometimes it would work perfect and now i am not gettin notified but then everything still works on this app

Chat is working I thought my phone was just all messed up. I still get the can't connect to Facebook server error from time to time tho.
