Facebook for BlackBerry updated in BlackBerry Beta Zone
Facebook for BlackBerry has received another Beta Zone update today. Nothing fancy in this version but it does include some minor fixes. We haven't seen many new features come to Facebook in the last few versions, but hopefully we'll get some good stuff at the official release. Fixes in this update include:
- When Facebook is installed on a device running a language that is not officially supported by Facebook for BlackBerry, but is supported by BB, the app is supposed to default to English.
- Facebook application uses HTTP links in browser
- The Facebook server has returned an unknown error and is not able to fulfill your request. (1500)
- WiLAN event is not being processed correctly when radio is low or changed
- Unable to close Facebook using back key on 6.0

Best facebook app version so far, pictures load super fast now!

I can corroborate. The pics DO load faster and more reliably than ever before. They also patched up the problem with the back/escape button, finally...

RIM needs to add important features, like ability to Like comments, unfriend people and able to see groups...

My biggest problem with the last version!
Mattma43 Apr 2, 2012 at 12:39 pm
I want to know when they will actually disable the darn calendar adding itself to the my BB calendar.
jayemmbee Apr 2, 2012 at 12:49 pm
You can. Disable that in the options by unchecking the box that says integrate with bb calendar
jayemmbee Apr 2, 2012 at 12:53 pm
That. Not being able to press the back button to exit was annoying. But when are they gonna add groups, events, bdays, timeline and like comments? Come on get with the times even the playbook app has. More. Catcher up to the other platforms. , there's no reason not to seeing that you aren't dependant on fb to make the app

While it took forever to download this since I'm still on OS5, it reminded me how the browser in OS5 is a big reason for RIM's decline. If they would upgrade the browser to that from OS6 or OS7 they would be doing a lot better.

Dream on. BB10 is all they're working on right now. I'm happy to be getting Facebook and Twitter upgrades.

Are FB messages (not notifications; I get those) getting sent to the phone? I had to go back to an earlier version for this to work.
mckillio Apr 2, 2012 at 1:08 pm
It worked for me on the last release.
CyberchickK Apr 2, 2012 at 2:38 pm
What release was that? The last release I had wouldn't send messages at all.
mckillio Apr 2, 2012 at 3:31 pm
.09 I think.
sk8er_tor Apr 2, 2012 at 5:48 pm
Yes, finally fixed.

Very smooth and very fast. Have been testing on my 9780 for the past hour and have found no major errors. Very happy with it.
However, the only minor issue that I feel as a lag is that when long posts are on the screen, scrolling becomes a pain. The app either takes you to the top of the entire post when you're halfway in between, or scrolls down very fast skipping over a few extra posts. I'd like to see some stable scrolling (similar to the browser or messages scroll)
mckillio Apr 2, 2012 at 2:02 pm
I have the same issue. I also have a problem when I scroll up, it acts as if I "flicked" as hard as I could and takes me all the way back up. (This mainly occurs on the news feed)

I hope you guys are providing feedback in the BlackBerry Beta Zone.
zi199ziyou Apr 2, 2012 at 10:24 pm
Yup. Just did :D
Nashstruck Apr 2, 2012 at 5:49 pm
Guys you should be reviewing on the beta website! Not here!

Anyone else has the same issue?
