Facebook for BlackBerry receives an update to fix timeline refresh issues and application freezes

We all know that Facebook for BlackBerry is a hit or miss, depending on the user, but today the folks have released an update to address some issues that users were seeing. Many of us, myself included, got stuck with a timeline that wouldn't refresh or once the application was launched, it would just freeze up -- sometimes to the extent that a battery pull was needed. The update to version 2.0.0.45 should address both of these issues and probably some others that they didn't list, but either way be sure to hop into App World and grab the update now.

Finally! I've been waiting for this fix ever since the problem surfaced. I hated using the browser to check FB.

i just wish they would come with an update that allows us to "like" comments and not just statuses and stuff

although this version is already pretty dang good

I had a notifications bug on prior release - couldn't turn them off without logging out every time.
I hope they fix that

ALT + RST on app world. It will sort of freeze and exit the app.

Just reload it.

Open App World. Hold ALT, then press R, then S, then T. App World will close. Re-open it and it will be refreshed and will show you the update available.

Still doesn't stop all my friends' stupid farmville type apps that I had blocked from showing up on my news feed.

hmm, weird, i never encounter such problem of not refreshing and app freezed. my fb app works fine, but i still upgrade anyway... my phone is 9800 torch with ver 600 OS from AT&T

Yep, I didn't have those problems either. I also have a Torch with the same software version that you have.

i havent gotten the update an it duznt show up on da app world either it says the latest one is 2.0.37 which is da one i already have installed some one please help

FB for BB is the worst app I've ever seen for any device. Slow loading, failures to update, inconsistent information, lack of rich features, ridiculous resource hogging, horrendous chat that freezes my device every two minutes (not an exaggeration). I honestly cannot understand how it's even possible to build an app of such consistently abominable quality.

You guys should use touch.facebook.com on your mobile browser instead of m.facebook.com if you're using a touch BB device. The touch site has had a complete overhaul and works much better than any app for any platform.

I had issues loading pages sometimes (9650). I would get an error message when attempting to open a message or searching my friends list. Hope this fixes it

Still waiting for them to implement a STATUS MESSAGE only feature. So tired of seeing apps and other NEWS FEED crap that I have blocked on the FB website showing up. One would think that would have been one of the first things they took care of.
