F1 Live24 updated just in time for the 2014 Formula One season

By Bla1ze on 12 Mar 2014 12:22 am EDT

Just in time for the 2014 Formula One season, the F1 Live24 app for BlackBerry 10 has been updated. Sadly though, there's not much of a change log to go along with and the developers have basically summed it up as an update for the new season. In any case, if you're looking to follow along with the season then this is certainly one app you'll want to add to the mix.

Now, before you ask, we're not sure if the update disabled the whizzing F1 cars but there is a spot to disable notification sounds, we'll find out when practice for the 2014 Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix begins on March 13th. If you want a better look at the app, check out our hands on video.

Which version did you get. I don't see an upcoming and I have Version Oct 2013. Could you (someone) let me know if they have a higher version?

I'm on Rogers in Canada

You must be a real redneck, don't worry I'm pretty much one without the love of racing.

There are apps. for both...though they are feeder apps to the Autosport website. That being said, I'm happy that they are available and use them often.

Peugeot 505 STI» Peugeot 405 Mi16» Honda S2000»...Chevrolet Corvette C7

And they're just news apps...it would be great to have complete, native apps. fully supported by NASCAR and IndyCar.

It is a very good app...my go to F1 app.

It had not been showing new stories for quite a few days...just now updated the app. and it brought with it closer dated news up to 3/7/14.

I really appreciate the fact that the news is within the app. and does not send you through the browser to a website.

No word on the Official timings app coming to BB10 anytime soon though. The F1 site just says available for ios and coming soon for Android, leaving it a little late arent they?

There was a timing app last year for $20 so and every other year for the PlayBook. So I think we may see it here again this year

Nice ! But someone here who use the application has received at least one notifications during last season ? Because I never received one notification from this application and that is what is just missing !

Posted via CB10

Did you have notifications turned on or off for the app? I received notifications for EVERYTHING last season. Practice, Qualifying and even race updates every 5-10 laps.

Yes ! I even tried to put off, close the app, re open, on, close again, and nothing :/ but do you let the application open ?

This is a great free app for F1 news and race stats. I've been using it since last season.

However, a month ago the developer stopped updating the content, or something broke in the app for everyone, so I stopped using it. Glad to see it's back, hope the news doesn't dry up on the app again!

Zooooooooooomm!! Zoomm!! Don't forget to turn off the alerts if you don't want to be waking up in the middle of the night and wonder what the hell was that, save your battery and your mind,HAHA!!!

My God, that whizzing F1 sound upon opening, and notification is irritating, and loud!

It appears as if they've also gone to a partial paid app. From what I can see you can't get live race updates within the app unless you purchase an add-on :( guess we'll have to wait until Sunday to see.

This used to be a reliable app, if you can deal with numerous days without the content being updated then you should have no problem.

Not sure why the BlackBerry version is so crippled, I have the same app on iphone and it has tons more features and is always up to date without in-app purchases.

Blaze could you please add an article about language support of BB phones? (my native language is still not supported, it's Slovak) I wrote to BB about it already but all i got is a ticket...and no actual response
