It’s always nice to know that someone is there to lend an ear for listening, hold your hand when you are scared to walk alone, or bestow hope when you need it most. “Everyone believes in prayer! Few believe in praying”-enter ePrayerTeam application, from Gates Computer Services.
ePrayerTeam, a not for profit organization, is a gathering of “Prayer Warriors” who are dedicated to answer the call for strength and support. Their reach is international and their support is always there, regardless of denomination. Perhaps you have hit hardship, or have a loved one who is experiencing a stressful time in their life. You can submit a prayer need, at which time the ePrayerTeam will respond directly to you, via email, to ensure you are aware of the many people that will be opening their hearts and praying for you. The application is quite simple, as it enables you to learn who the ePrayerTeam is, launch their site support/donate page, as well as send an email off to join the team or ask for prayer. The request page enables you to use their quick email form to send your name, email address, city and prayer need. Once sent, all you have to do is wait for the support to come flooding in. The response is quite quick; I received my first response within 6 minutes!
You can find the ePrayerTeam application from the CrackBerry App Store for $0.99. All proceeds go towards site maintenance and their mission.
Contest: The ePrayerTeam has offered 5 copies of the ePrayerTeam application to give away. All you have to do is leave a comment and you are entered. Contest ends this Sunday at midnight PDT.

I think this app looks pretty cool... there are lots of supportive people out there, this is a cool way to connect with them on a more spiritual level.
edit: store says no 9700 support :(
edit 2: now it says it does but not for firmware over .699 :(

wdfly Jul 1, 2010 at 11:41 am
why is this not a free application? how dare you create something intending to spread Christ's love and put a price tag on it! call me an old fashioned Christian but i would NEVER put a price tag on something that is as beneficial as this.
edit - i do not want to be included in the drawing for this application, not because i don't believe in it or want it but because i can't support an application that would charge for this.
GabrielEF#AC Jul 1, 2010 at 11:44 am

They aren't looking to get rich, just offset expenses.
kaptiv8her Jul 1, 2010 at 7:21 pm
no longer collect offerings/tithes since God's word should be free? Who would pay utilities? Print bulletins? Etc. It's not like they are asking for $19.99 for the app. Besides, have you ever used your blackberry to pray for someone over the phone? Do you feel Verizon or AT&T should be free also???? All I am saying is put it into perspective...thats all.
bigdaddyxxxx Jul 2, 2010 at 10:34 am
As a former full time pastor I can tell you that at $.99 no one is getting rich. Also there is the passage "the workman is worthy of is wages". Before you rant, download the app builder from RIM and try your hand at making one of these things and then see if $.99 is too much, or if it offends your religion!
wdfly Jul 4, 2010 at 4:19 pm
to everyone complaining about my opinion, yes i fully understand that 99 cents is not much and no-one is getting rich from it and i understand that things cost money and almost nothing is free but to charge for this app is still shameful. they should have made the app for free and placed a donation link in it for people to donate money for the cause instead of charging. would any of you stand in the doorway of your church on Sunday morning and charge an admission fee to enter the building and worship? no, didn't think so. i see that charging for this app is no different than that. i would have donated 50 times more money to the upkeep of this than what they are asking that we pay for it but i won't do that since they are charging for it.
and on a side note if you agree with me fine if not that's fine too God loves all of us equally and that's the only important thing. good day and God bless!

Amen Brother!
gabead Jul 2, 2010 at 11:32 am
You know, this proves a point. You did not have to say anyting. If you don't like it move on. Your point is dumb especially with a blanket statment "Good ol' religion... the almighty DOLLAR." Your just the typical atheist that goes with where ever the wind blows. Yeah, we take offereings, but you know what? The church has to have electricity, water, maintance, burial grounds, sending missionaries overseas, and YES paying the pastor who has family to feed and bills to pay. He just doesn't preach on Sundays and Wednesdays. He has a lot of responsibilites and often works beyond 40 hrs a week. Stop judging the good for the bad you see on t.v. or the media and few bad examples. For someone who supposed to be an atheist and logical you sure jumped to conclusions in things you don't know a lot about. I really do hope you have a good day and take care.
God Bless
AUgirl_inTX Jul 2, 2010 at 12:14 pm
Your post...enough said! Praying for you! God bless!
reeneebob Jul 2, 2010 at 12:48 pm
What's more offensive than his post is you praying for someone who doesn't want it or believe in it. Why force your belief on someone? Isn't that what I hear most Christians complaining about regarding Mormons or JW?
Do me a favour and don't pray for me. Someone at work forced their religion on me in the same way and when it didn't work said "Oh well - just God's way!" Thanks. That made the miscarriage SO much better.
Believe what you want to but don't force it on others. Saying God Bless and I'll Pray For You is forcing it on others.
Joe257 Jul 8, 2010 at 6:40 pm
reeneebob, I don't think anyone will be "involving you" or trying to "influence you" by simply praying for you. You won't be contacted -- so no one is forcing their beliefs on you. Indeed, I really am sad that you felt that someone forced their Christian beliefs on you -- this is very unfortunate. Ultimately, your beliefs are your decision and yours alone. No one should be forcing you into anything, no matter what they believe.
Simply thinking of someone and praying for them is a most beautiful act of love, especially to a complete stranger. It's wishing the best for someone else and asking God to help them through their struggles & difficult times. Even if you don't believe in God or any god for that matter, simply having others thinking of you and wishing the best for you should be a wonderful thing. They are simply showing that they care in the best way they know how.
Of course, if you respectfully tell them that you do not wish to be prayed for and they continue to harass you about it, then that is unfortunate. They are not doing their God proper justice; after all, he gave us free choice.
Honestly though, I don't see why saying "God bless" or "God bless you" is forcing it on you. There is the issue of freedom of speech, but you can just ignore those people if you wish and walk away. That is your right, and we all respect that.
Regarding the app, it is a great tool to share with friends but it is unfortunate that it is not free. Nevertheless, I understand that people need to earn a living. Never judge or you too will be judged!

It is such a blessing that the Lord is working even with Blackberry to reach His people. Thank you so much for making this available. It's amazing how many people need prayer and don't know where to turn. When you are feeling alone and hopeless, knowing there is somewhere to go for prayer makes so much difference. Thank you for this app!! (For the record I have no problem paying for this app, actually I hope that someone else wins instead, I would rather it go to someone that needs it more than I do)

ugh, too late. Tinkerbell died, because you didn't pray loud enough. it's all your fault. you didn't pay $1.00 to have your prayers amplified by a super-godly blackberry app with 100x religion power!

John 17:1 When Jesus had spoken these words, he lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour has come; glorify your Son that the Son may glorify you, 2 since you have given him authority over all flesh, to give eternal life to all whom you have given him. 3 And this is eternal life, that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. 4 I glorified you on earth, having accomplished the work that you gave me to do. 5 And now, Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory that I had with you before the world existed. 6 I have manifested your name to the people whom you gave me out of the world. Yours they were, and you gave them to me, and they have kept your word. 7 Now they know that everything that you have given me is from you. 8 For I have given them the words that you gave me, and they have received them and have come to know in truth that I came from you; and they have believed that you sent me. 9 I am praying for them. I am not praying for the world but for those whom you have given me, for they are yours. 10 All mine are yours, and yours are mine, and I am glorified in them. 11 And I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, keep them in your name, which you have given me, that they may be one, even as we are one. 12 While I was with them, I kept them in your name, which you have given me. I have guarded them, and not one of them has been lost except the son of destruction, that the Scripture might be fulfilled. 13 But now I am coming to you, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy fulfilled in themselves. 14 I have given them your word, and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 15 I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one. 16 They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 17 Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth. 18 As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world. 19 And for their sake I consecrate myself, that they also may be sanctified in truth. 20 I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, 21 that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22 The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, 23 I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me. 24 Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to see my glory that you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world. 25 O righteous Father, even though the world does not know you, I know you, and these know that you have sent me. 26 I made known to them your name, and I will continue to make it known, that the love with which you have loved me may be in them, and I in them.
