Elertify - Get Alerted Of Emails, Calls And SMS From Your BlackBerry Right On Your PC!
Posted in BlackBerry Apps on 31 Oct 2009 09:15 by Bla1ze | 34 comments

Elertify is a new app to the CrackBerry app store and is simply awesome. Elertify is for those users who often sit at their PC and have their BlackBerry by their side at all times. Elertify can display a popup message on your PC when you receive incoming Email, SMS and Phone calls on your BlackBerry. You can even hear who's calling, texting, or emailing you by using the built voice synthesizer. Check out the video for a good look of it in action. After having tested it earlier today I'll be surely adding this to my collection and right now, up until Nov 15th you can get it for only $4.99.

I think I would use this if it used bluetooth

By: Xberry | Date: Sat, 10/31/2009 - 09:04

Can you install to more than 1 PC?

I agree. Bluetooth would be nice.

By: seankly | Date: Sat, 10/31/2009 - 09:11

Dont know about everyone else but this app needs to be wireless/bluetooth for it to be useable. If the phone is on my desk while im working at the pc then chances are i will see who is calling me or just text me and as the email is synced to my pc anyway so i dont need the email feature.

The problems arise when my phone is in my trouser pocket, suit jacket etc and im hardly likely to have the usb plugged in when the phone is in those places!

Good idea but no good to me at the moment.

If it were using bluetooth, then I could see the benefit. I woudn't need to take it out of its holster.

If I have it connected via USB cable, then It's sitting right beside my PC - no need to have it display in both places then. For a cable-based option, I also think it is overpriced.

This would be better if it were Bluetooth. Let me keep it in my pocket and still see my messages.

By: stubbornswiss | Date: Sat, 10/31/2009 - 10:03

OK.... so my phone is right next to my keyboard (tethered by USB to my PC).

Message comes in and it dings, or call comes in and it rings.

So for $5 I can eliminate the need of having to take my eyes off the monitor for like 5 secs to look down at my BB?

I don't get it. Whats the benefit of this app?

EXACTLY what i was thinking. Useless if you ask me

By: EndeCORP | Date: Mon, 11/02/2009 - 10:18

I could find a good use.. I work in a cubicle, so my phone is on silence all the time, and sometimes I start programming and forget to look at the flashing light! I been in trouble with my GF a couple times xD and some important missed calls... anyways wireless would be awsome!

By: JohnMidnight | Date: Sat, 10/31/2009 - 11:07

You'd be better off getting BerryBuzz, or something.

By: Alex015 | Date: Sat, 10/31/2009 - 11:08

This would be awesome if you could reply to the SMS/Email through the computer. If this was the case I would get this NOW.

By: LevzP | Date: Sat, 10/31/2009 - 11:23

I agree. I see a great benefit if you were able to reply through the pc. I remember my W810 had an app that would let you receive, reply, delete and save sms messages thru the pc.

I think its good concept, but it does need a Bluetooth option and it needs to incorporate other programs such as BBM and gchat. if it did all that it would be worth the money. for now i will wait.

By: shelland | Date: Sat, 10/31/2009 - 11:39

Couldn't agree more with the above comments. The concept is great, but unnecessary if you have to have connected via USB.

Beyond the 'proximity' comments above, that also means I'd have to hook it up to my PC at work. Then any time I leave my desk I'd have to remember to take my phone with me and then plug it back in when I get back.

I'd pay double the price if it could be used wirelessly.

downloaded the trial, I agree with all the comments the app is kind of pointless, my phone is literally 1 foot from me and I can very easily look at it. Needs bluetooth and also needs to use the pc keyboard for responding to emails and texts.

I think everyone is looking for something closer to BluePhoneElite (but for BlackBerry and the PC): http://mirasoftware.com/BPE2/

By: passtheboll10 | Date: Sat, 10/31/2009 - 12:36

This is exactly the application I need... But I need it for Windows :( Do you know of a Windows version?

Just looked into that app, and it seems to be perfect.. But not for BlackBerrys. None of the BlackBerrys can utilize this application to send and receive texts through the computer. It can do basically everything else though. The one feature I really wanted out of the program isn't available for my phone... That sucks.

But if the advertised app worked over BT, I would at least try it to see how useful it is. It be restricted to a USB connection, however, is very unattractive and not worth the time, IMO.

I've been looking for an app like this in the forums.

I'm buying it right now. Cheers!

By: nolan.b | Date: Sat, 10/31/2009 - 12:33

So visiting the store and reading the details, oh wha, USB?! No BT? I'l still give it a go, but ya man, BT update is absolutely required.

By: jfunker | Date: Sat, 10/31/2009 - 12:52

Agree with the above... bluetooth would be awesome. And a Mac version would be even better! Maybe with something like Growl support :-)

By: xtremesniper | Date: Sat, 10/31/2009 - 15:33

Bluetooth + OS X support with Growl would be fantastic. I'd pay for that, for sure!

Automatic sensing that the phone is near the computer and displaying any incoming texts/calls/emails only when in range of bluetooth would make my day.

By: qdenning | Date: Sat, 10/31/2009 - 12:59

I agree w/ the comments above. I was excited about this until he said 'just connect your usb cable' that for me makes this a non-starter at any price.

If BT worked -- it'd be worth $5-7.

By: mhop2 | Date: Sat, 10/31/2009 - 13:06

Does it work on my Macbook?!

By: devGOD | Date: Sat, 10/31/2009 - 13:17

Nice but FAIL! no bluetooth can't reply to message. just pull out the BB and put it on your desk

By: cvaria | Date: Sat, 10/31/2009 - 13:46

there's a conflict somewhere and it's not really working. i'll fool with it later.

By: Ironsideque | Date: Sat, 10/31/2009 - 15:11

The voice synth option makes this a buy for me. Without the text-to-voice option it is not much of a solution. Bluetooth in future plans we hope.

By: Mike_Luchia | Date: Sat, 10/31/2009 - 16:26

Any idea if they plan on making this work with Blackberry Messenger? (if it is possible at all)

Mike

Bla1ze how much did they pay you to say it is "simply awesome".

By: Router Guy | Date: Sat, 10/31/2009 - 18:20

5 bucks so you don't have to look over at the phone which must be sitting next to your computer because it's attached with a usb cable. Really?

By: Meldiane | Date: Sat, 10/31/2009 - 21:54

I downloaded the trial.....had my bf send me a text, it was hilarious hearing the mans voice transcribe the text...LOADS OF FUN and very useful..... PURCHASED

By: aceface5 | Date: Sun, 11/01/2009 - 00:31

looks very cool!

By: monkeee2002 | Date: Sun, 11/01/2009 - 01:42

Are you seeing a theme here yet? Maybe Bluetooth?
I'm not going to pay $5 to see something from my phone displayed on my moniter when the two are almost touching anyway, lol!

By: cosmica34 | Date: Sun, 11/01/2009 - 10:31

it's only 5 bucks and I love the techno-vibe of hearing my PC talk to me!

By: WarER4X | Date: Mon, 11/02/2009 - 09:10

If it were able to use USB or Bluetooth (as some has suggested), worked with BBM, and even allowed the user to send SMS, email or BBMs through their BB by way of their computer, I'd buy that, because then I could receive/send such messages while using my work PC and never have to take my BB out of my pocket or laptop case (where ever I have it at the time).

if it worked as a system where as if my phone was off (company policy) I could then receive the info on my pc....like a blackberry dashboard of sorts.
