EE in the UK rolls out OS 10.0.10.90 for the BlackBerry Z10
Over in Twitterland and in our own CrackBerry forums I've noticed quite a few people saying that they have not been able to download WhatsApp for their BlackBerry Z10 if on the EE network. Great news if you are an EE (Orange & T-Mobile) customer as the carrier has released OS version 10.0.10.90, meaning that as well as all the OS improvements, users should now be able to download WhatsApp without any issues.
EE UK customers can now benefit from the following OS enhancements:
-
3rd Party App Performance - improved performance for 3rd party applications, so developers can build apps that run fast and smooth
-
Phone, Calendar, and Contacts - fixes for Gmail calendars, improvements in the BlackBerry Hub for logging calls log, general improvements to importing contacts from online sources
-
Camera - optimized the camera for better photos in low-light situations
-
Browser and Media - a number of improvements to the software in the way the browser handles video playback
-
Battery Life - over 60 battery saving improvements
If you have any problems please feel free to keep us in the loop in the comments.

HELP PLEASE! I've had many issues, couldn't connect to BlackBerry Link on my desktop and got the instalation error when trying to download WhatsApp. I'm using a factory unlocked Z10, model STL100-1, OS 10.0.10.261. I'm with Movistar in Argentina. I was hoping an update wouh solve any of this, but since the Z10 isn't coming to Argentina any time soon, no update is being pushed. Is there any way I could try another version of the OS10? Will any update be pushed to factory unlocked devices? Thanks a lot!

I suggest searching the forums. There is an update to download and install using blackberry link or the chromium browser plugin.

Hi, thanks for replying. I haven't been able to connect my Z10 to BlackBerry Link on any desktop computer. The software detects the phone but the connection is never established. I've also tried updating through http://www.blackberry.com/update but I get the message saying there is no update for my device.
Rootbrian Mar 16, 2013 at 12:10 am
It could be a windows issue. If another computer can detect your z10, it's likely windows needs to be reinstalled clean on yours. Rule it out first. You could easily use a virtual machine to clean install windows on that and see if it detects your z10, but if it doesn't, I don't know what to say.
Ezequiel Goldberg Mar 16, 2013 at 11:27 am
Thanks again for replying! I've tried it on three different windows computers and get the same issue. BlackBerry Link detects the phone but can't connect to it. I've also found out that as my Z10 says OS version 10.0.10.261, under software release says "No info available". Thanks for everything though. I'll keep searching and hoping for the best.

Lastly, if you can't find a way, even if using a virtual machine (virtualbox), even a mac computer, then a warranty exchange might be your best bet. It could be some issue with QNX on the Z10 not properly interacting. The carrier should be able to do a reload and have things backed up.

I am on Virgin Mobile in the UK using an unlocked Z10 I bought on release day. As virgin UK don't officially support the Z10 yet what should I do about getting this update. Virgin in UK uses the EE network. I cannot load WhatsApp at the moment either.

Upgraded this morning. It went smoothly. I did not lose any of my stored data/apps
But I am not sure about the battery life. I am a heavy user and my battery is less than 30% after using it on a 4G network for 4 hours
