I'm typing this from my hotel room at the Aria on the strip in Las Vegas. It's time CrackBerry Nation.... for CES 2014! In a few minutes I'm going to run downstairs for breakfast and then it's off to the South Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center to help the team setup our awesome #CESlive stage.

From a Mobile Nations perspective, this is our biggest year at CES yet. We have 22 people on the ground here covering the content for all our sites this week, including CrackBerry, Android Central, iMore, Windows Phone Central and the newly launched Smartwatch Fans

To follow all of the coverage easily, we've built an awesome new "toy".... visit and that's where you can access ALL of our content this week. Scroll down to the bottom of the page, and you can find all of our CES stories. By default you'll only see the CrackBerry stories, but you can tab over to see the coverage from any of our sites (or all of it one feed), easily. It's super awesome.

Come Tuesday, we'll be updating the CESlive page to include the live streaming embed and chat room from our #CESlive show. That will be running Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday during the week, with back to back interview guests all day long. At the end of each day we'll also be recording a podcast. And we'll be posting a round up at the end of each day with all of the highlights.

We're not expecting too much news on the BlackBerry front, but I'm sure we'll find a handful of great stories as the week goes on, just as we did last year. We know the BBM team is on the ground here. QNX is bound to be showing off a hot car. And don't forget, last year Thorsten Heins showed up to our Mobile Nations party. Maybe we'll be able to track down John Chen if he's in town. And you know.. it's Vegas... if it's not a $500 clock app, I'm sure there will be something sexy I can find around here to throw down some cash on and record while doing it for your entertainment. :)

Adam and I will be doing lots of tweeting and instagramming throughout the week. Be sure to follow me @kevinmichaluk on twitter and @kevinmichaluk on instagram (I'll be covering more than just BB this week too, so don't give me a hard time for stuff other than BB!). You can follow Adam @azeis on twitter and @adamzeis on Instagram (and of course you can follow our CrackBerry, CrackBerry Kevin and Adam Zeis BBM Channels!). Be sure to hit up our Mobile Nations Twitter List too - you can follow the whole team via that easily.

OK, I'll talk to you all soon. There's work to do!! CES Baby!!!

Good time for Chen to make an appearance and tell it like it is ,about QNX, what makes it the Best!!Time to work your magic John, take the opportunity and run with it.

Chen is a joke. He's not going to compete with anyone other than smallish, niche enterprise players. That's the movie he's familiar with. The folks at QNX and Thor should get credit for the new car at CES... and for believing BlackBerry can compete in the first world consumer market. If only they'd built a direct sales solution worthy of the challenge...

Posted via CB10

As a reminder, Chen transformed that smallish ailing niche player Sybase into a $b 5.8 company. Not a small feat, if you ask me.
Of course, Thor is copping a lot of criticism right now, but he is an operational guy and did a good job at keeping BlackBerry together, but communication with the market and timing was sub-optimal.

We can certainly have a different view, no probs with that. :-)

A guy by the name of thor was recently voted 2nd worst Ceo of 2013,the guy's at QNX are responsible for the success they developed and always will be.There are many class action lawsuits that will come back and hurt BB just when things start to get better, thor is out and and good riddens.Chen seems to impress the street and that's good enough for me.When he speaks the stock actually goes up not like your friend ,thor.

Rather than an exotic I would rather see some sign they are hooking up with one of the major top selling brands.

I'm talking about numbers like GM, Ford, Nissan or Toyota. High end cars are cool but they don't sell as many. QNX in a BMW won't quite get BBRY the brand recognition as a car driven by the masses. Although nothing wrong with BMW or Benz.

You got me there blackmore. Good point. Guess I was looking at brands rather than profit size.

QNX is in everyday cars. Hyundai for example. It's an embedded software. It's there, just doesn't do as much as the more expensive cars that have elaborate systems that compliment you every time you get in the car.

I work at the Hyundai plant at Alabama, and I can confirm you totally right, I can't say about Kia, but like everybody knows there are cousins brands and there share a lot, believe me, a lot of stuff, so I guess Kia use QNX too,

Until it drives the info-tainment systems synced with the BBRY phones it will stay invisible in the consumers hearts and minds. We need advancement in this arena.

Have fun. Oh you have to eat at the Wicked Spoon at the Cosmopolitan Hotel. Best buffet on the strip!

Good luck dude, and to all the others helping. Reading and watching the teams posts will be a great antidote to xmas ;-)

Z30 and iPhone 5s. For the #CESlive coordination, hangouts won out over bnm groups (because of the ability to see who in the group read the last message) so I have the iPhone for that and for instagramming (just quicker to use it on iPhone vs bb10). Then z30 for all other communications and Calendar etc. Have a q10 and s4 in back pack for back up.

Posted via CB10

Good choice and back up. Best if Google services and instagram made themselves available on BlackBerry 10!

Posted via CB10

It's a shame you couldn't have gotten bbm groups to work. Would have meant a lot especially as onlookers will figure out soon enough which device you are sporting, actually quite the shame.

I'm actually looking forward to your coverage more than any particular news. It'd be interesting to listen to you and Rene and the awesome guy who used to run the WebOS site talk about how the changing landscape is effecting shows like CES. I'm specifically thinking about crowdfunding and the maker movement and such...

I was tempted to install the leaked version, but I only have one mobile phone, so if it goes wrong that's me down the river

Posted via CB10, from my Z10. Channel C0036A42A

Try using different browsers. On my particular system I've found that chrome works better with mega with the incognito mode off. But I usually use Firefox cuz it's faster and works better with everything else.

I'm already using the leaked on my Z10.

I guess they're trying to stay hip amongst the omg/lolz/ilu crowd!

I did read an article about smartphone presence diminishing because of "the next big wave"

Excellent question. I wanna know that answer too

Kevin....go ask ATT when 10.2.1 is coming out and when we cab expect to see Z30 at ATT and if not - why not.

I had to get my Z30 from Verizon "unlock it" and put it on ATT....Pathetic.

CB10 from the Z30

Verizon sells then unlocked already.. you got scammed

I'm qualified to say so because I own a BlackBerry and because I am the Black Squircle Samurai!

Sure, you can also follow there. I forgot to put in my post. Just follow the CrackBerry channel and CrackBerry Kevin and Adam Zeis channel!

Also 2 questions for Ryan Seacrest...

1. Why is he stealing BlackBerry technology?

2. Whatever happened to the other announcer that worked with him on Season 1 of "American Idol"..

"Crackberry Nation" needs to know...

CB10 from the Z30

You said you would find something sexy to throw down some cash on to entertain us ,that sounds like you packed your yoga pants ,foreplay anyone?HaHa!! What a tease!!

Would love to go to this one of these years. Have fun while working your butts off boys.

BlackBerry did the mobile app for TIFF (The film festival, not the picture format...), too bad there's no BB10 CES2014 mobile app.

I'm so jealous right now. My goal is to one day attend this event. It's a simple dream as I get all giddy with electronics. Lol

Thanks, looks pretty cool. Barcelona is a lot closer to me than Las Vegas.

Are any of the Crackberry fans heading that way?

Posted via CB10, from my Z10. Channel C0036A42A

Save yourself the dollars. GUESS WHO is not heading that way...

Mozilla, Ubuntu / Canonical, Jolla, all there...

No sign of anything BlackBerry or RIM in the list of exhibitors. Sigh.....

Wake me up when you spot them. Snoozzzzze off.....

Say hi to my son "Phil" at the Maluuba booth. Maluuba is an awesome natural language processing app from the boys in Waterloo. Ask them about future BlackBerry BB10 integration!

I'm soo jelly! I hope we see some big announcements out of team BlackBerry!

Posted while peeking and flowing on my incredible BBQ10! 

Will you be there during the whole event? I'm arriving to Vegas on Friday. Hope I can see you there

Posted via CB10

Looking forward to meeting you Kevin and sharing a little BB love! Will you post details via twitter on the mobile nations party On Weds?
I'll be working in north hall Tues-Thurs at the CQ booth. Cell cases/accessories area

Posted via CB10

[Palm Face] Kevin, you just didn't write that publicly " I'm sure there will be something sexy I can find around here to throw down some cash on and record while doing it for your entertainment. :)".

That can be taken the wrong on so many levels. If Ms. CrackBerry is reading, I would edit that quickly.
Or are you going for the whole..."What happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas!" [wink, wink, nodge, nodge]

Ha ha, Looking forward to the CES coverage..

Kevin bought a USD500.00 clock app during one trip to Las Vegas. Nothing he does this time could possibly be as foolish or leave him open to recrimination from Mrs. CrackBerry. ;-)

I am looking forward to the show! Please review QNX and all the car infotainments that use QNX. I am really passionate about the future of cars that will be fun to drive and safe at the same time.

I'm so sad. I'm in Vegas, but I have to go back to work. I'm going to miss CES by one day.

Posted via my sexy-ass Z10 running ON A BOAT!!!

Sounds good Kevin. I'm here as well with my press pass for Antigrav Review and may run into you at CES. Enjoy ...

Posted via CB10

Will they announce a NATIVE Instagram app?? That's when I'll check Instagram for anything BlackBerry related, unless I post another pic saying how I need Instagram for my Q10. !|

Wonder what new junk Sony is putting out. I wil NEVER buy anything Sony again. Every purchased item has failed on me shortly after warranty ran out. Last was my Sony A33 DSLR camera. Quality reliability and longevity simply not there

Jealous in Winnipeg :( Wishing I was in Vegas right now... I'm soo over this -40 weather... send me a Porche Design BB10 to help alleviate these dire weather conditions... LOL JK... have fun! Still a BB fan... but using and iPhone 5 lol ordered a typo keyboard tho lol
