EA Games continues to show their support for the BlackBerry 10 platform by rolling out yet another release into BlackBerry World. This time around, Monopoly is getting some BlackBerry 10 love and brings with it all the classic gameplay players know and love and mashes it up with some digital jazz.

  • Employ Hands-On Management - Tap the screen to manage your properties – from Marvin Gardens to Water Works to Park Place. Building hotels or taking a “Chance” is simple and intuitive.
  • Choose your level and look -  Play through 3 levels of difficulty and save games in progress. Also customize the number of players, the game rules, and even the game environment.

Having spent a good many hours on the PlayBook version, I'm sure I'll spend just as many on this version as well. If you're looking to grab Monopoly for yourself, the price is set at $2.99. You can get the below or fire up BlackBerry World and grab it now.

EA brings Monopoly to BlackBerry 10

I had this game on the Playbook and one time 3 of my friends and I were at a restaurant and we fired up the game and sat there for 2 hours playing the game. (Pretty much until my battery died) Funny they didn't kick us out since we had already finished eating.
On the bigger playbook screen it was okay, but I'd imagine multiplayer on a Z10 would be really hard unless you hooked it up to a TV via the microHDMI.
Single player would also work, but Monopoly is really more fun with friends.

I love this app on the playbook, ill show my support and purchase it tomorrow along with others when I take pocession of my own made in Canada z10. :-)

I enjoyed this game on the PlayBook, but for the price would have liked it if EA let those who purchased it on the PB have it for their Z10s without additional charge. There are some apps I've felt are worth purchasing twice, but other more expensive ones I'm not as keen on paying twice for. The most expensive app I have bought to date was Pacemaker (19.99) and I can't thank the dev enough for giving me access to the content on all of my devices for a single purchase.

I have no problem paying for apps. I bought about $100 of apps for my PB, and have already spent about $90 on additional apps for my Z10, but I'm always a little more hesitant when developers want me to pay twice for the same content on my personal devices. Especially when it comes to the bigger studios, I'm far more apt to buy twice when it comes to smaller developers who have created something exceptional.

Here's my theory on apps. If an app plays/works better on a particular device then it stays on that device. Generally I play games on the Playbook for the better experience. It gets away from this "having same app for all your devices" mentality which usually ends up being costly in the end.

I agree. I would've expected the big boys to offer it to us for free since we already bought it on PlayBook. Do you know if Monopoly on iOS is also charged twice on iPhone and iPad? I hope they're not treating the BlackBerry user base unfairly.

Wondering if PlayBook owner who bought this app need to buy it again for BB10. For me it is currently showing as unavailable for this device.

Probably not. I had the same question when Pew Pew 2 was released for BB10. A user who had it for the Playbook was able to download it for free on there z10 even though it was a paid app. Can't think of any reason why this would be different.

On another note, EA please bring NBA Jam, Mortal Kombat and The Simpsons Arcade to BB10 this year.

Monopoly has some bugs. When you buy a property the deed shows up, but when the game asks you a question about the property it uses the names of the properties in the British version.

Disappointing, such a simple mistake for a $3 app

This game, PlayBook, Bridge (os7 remote) , big screen tv and the family and you have a wonderful thing going on. Nice to see it make it to BlackBerry 10.

I'm with ya, I hate that I can't get it even though I payed it on the playbook... just gonna wait and hope to get it for free

Why is there no support for european countries? The Playbook Version had these and even the text is available in german but not the game. Hope to get it soon.

Getting a bit fed up with EA - no plants v zombies, now no Monopoly; EA don't seem to get that us folks in th UK Might like to buy these games too...

I will show support and get it on my Z10. I and my wife we play rarely on our Playbooks. But at this price, it is hard to say no.

Cheers

This is huge. EA are a respected player in the games industry. THEY feel that investing in the BB10 platform is worthwhile. I truly think that it's a sign of good things to come!

I love this game. Had it on my PlayBook. I don't like to complain but it sucks having to pay it again.

yes. cards come up with UK names, different then the board. can't buy hotels and crashes every time I play it. yes its only a couple of bucks, but appears to have been "rushed out the door". sent EA an email. only get an auto reply to visit website. When I do, there is NO help available. Kevin, did you review this game?

From Z to U via CB10

yes which is why I don't get why crackberry big up the developers if they are just cashing in on poor bb owners with no integration on this platform, its like the playbook is just a dead horse now and its like 'you had it on the playbook? oh well'

i have issues with ea, you have to buy the games twice still, same as gameloft, if I have asphalt 7, I don't want to pay another fiver to get it again, the same with everything else....bring in some integration and I may actually buy stuff!!!!

Glad to see it come to BB10. That makes 3 of their games I'll be buying when they have a sale down the road. :)

I have those same 3 games on my iPod, my BB Torch and my Playbook. I'll pay again, but not full price.

Monopoly is now updated.
Wrong properties name, can't buy houses issues are fixed in the updated Monopoly
