e-GPS Updated to v1.1 - 100 Copies to be Won

By Adam Zeis on 18 Feb 2010 02:18 pm EST

e-GPS was recently updated to version 1.1, fixing most problems occurring with the previous version. If you have not used e-GPS, its an app that allows you to send remote commands to your device using SMS or email. Commands include contact backup, GPS location of your device, alert (audible notification to aid in search of device) and wipe. The latest update has fixed lag experienced in alert, and GPS location requests. The application is available for all devices running OS 4.5 that have unblocked GPS capability. You can pick it up at the CrackBerry App Store for $3.99.

Contest: We have 100 copies of e-GPS to give away. Just leave a comment on this post to enter. Contest ends this Sunday at Midnight PST. Please only leave one comment, multiple entries wont count.

e-GPS Updated to v1.1 - 100 Copies to be Won

Ok, ok. I don't really need it. But, I do really waaaant it. Please sign me up for a shot at it. Thanks

just my entry to try and win. i love crackberry and as a new user to blackberries i have learned so much from this website from themeing to visual voicemail. i am working as a contractor with the navy and i have to have access to important documents and without some of the helpful posts here i wouldn't be able to. thanks!

I own the app already. I received the email update notification yesterday and today followed the link to my account here at CrackBerry.

I clicked the download arrow and typed my email. Email was sent to my BB but when I click on the link the download says it is still version 1.0, not 1.1.

My buddy just told me how his friend couldn't find his new phone... His friend ended up using a program similar to this I believe to locate his phone. He found out it was located at a bar he was at. He called the bar the next day and they had his phone... Sweet!

One question: Can you remotely turn on the GPS(if lost) or would you have to leave it on all the time?

A free copy would be nice :)

Been using this app almost 2 month without any doubt... is an awesome app.. could use the free copies for my sister blackberry

I'd be thankful if I win and with this I can monitor my child where he's now, by sending E-Mail command and receive the location of my child. ..

I ended up paying to be a beta tester on the first app. The developer wasn't sure if the app would work with Verizon's GPS on older models. Tried the app anyway. Didn't work. Asked for my money back. No response.

Can you find it in ye hearts to grant me a free copy? I just got my Storm 2, and would LOVE to have that! It'll be the first app I would have installed on it!

Heck, i haven't even listened to any of the ring tones or even finalized all the options on this thing!

Finally I don't have to get up from bed to use my blackberry. Now if they'd only come up with an app that could give me a foot massage...

This would be a great program to have if you lose your phone or just misplace it in the house! Hope I win a free copy!
