It's day 3 of Michael Clewley's BlackBerry OS 10.3 sneak peeks. We've already been shown quite a bit so far - Endless Folders, new Homescreen icons with no more grey box, permanent 'Home' screen and Quick Settings from Anywhere. We're all getting pretty excited and OS 10.3 can't come soon enough.

First off today, we have something for those who receive E-mail attachments, more specifically, if you receive multiple attachments in one E-mail. BlackBerry OS 10.3 will bring a 'Download All' option. A simple feature but one that is very welcome and very handy. Definitely something I have been wanting.

Are you enjoying these OS 10.3 sneak peeks? What other things would you like to see in OS 10.3?

Can't wait for 10.3 all a lot of the minor things have all been fixed along with a UI overhaul.

Cannot wait for endless folders! I keep my Gold and White BlackBerry Q10 nice and organized.

Delete all attachments or emails? Read/delete all feature has been there since day one, but it's not obvious. In the hub, touch and hold the date above the email. You can delete or read all previous from that date.

These aren't leaks, just little sneak peek images of what we will get in 10.3. I'm sure given Mr Clewley's position at BlackBerry that he is showing off only things that have been 100% approved for 10.3 and not features that are being tossed around that might not make the commercial release.

I thought those statements had more to do with hardware leaks rather than feature information leaks. Hense in the CrackBerry article following the announcement, they showcased their favorite hardware leaks over the years. I could be wrong though.

These aren't advertising features. Now, if they could come up with an out of the box "BlackBerry Auto Center" where all of my car's vital signs, maintenance schedules, and engine codes are sent to my phone in real time, that is something you can advertise. After all, QNX is supposed to to be incorporated in many makes right? Right?

This is great! Now we need the option for a dark theme hub and a mark all as read option

Posted with none other than the Zed 10

Instead of holding your finger on a message hold the bar with the date just under the blue blackberry hub bar this action will select every email and you can mark all read!

u made my day!! THX a lot!!!

Posted with my Z10 or Z30! ..mostly on my Q10. ..while I wait for a BB slider.

10.3 is looking good :) not a fan of the flat icons but losing the box is nice.

If only BlackBerry called the OS Fusion (since it's the fusion of BlackBerry and QNX and they went with BES 10 instead of Mobile Fusion for their enterprise MDM wares) or something catchy like that.

I hope with 10.3 BlackBerry at least starts marketing the OS again and reintroducing it to people. New look to the OS, tons of new features in the OS, and couple new phones. Perfect opportunity to show it off again and remind people that BlackBerry is still around

That's easy enough to get around. They could just give it a full legal name like BlackBerry Fusion OS and people would just refer to it by it's short name.

I would like to see a audible notification for missed calls. Along with the blinking red LED light and icon on the lock screen.

Posted via CB10

Sorry, I meant that the looks of it all somehow reminded me of iOs. Not the features themselves. Specifically the action bar on the bottom. The whiteness of it all.. dunno

Hopefully next on their list... being able to access attachments that were included in meeting invites. I still don't get why this functionality hasn't been available yet considering BBRY's target market.

Posted via CB10 from my amazing Q10

I like the heads up on new features. As said in the article - small but nice to have. I still hope they take some of the TAT concepts that they showed back when the PlayBook was first out and make them reality for 10.3. Oh, and give us the scrapbook app from the PlayBook while they are at it. Lastly, implement some of the nice-to-have features / functionality that we are missing from BBOS. It would be great to have all of that in a single package for OS 10.3. The OS would feel complete and ahead of the pack.

Posted via CB10

Hopefully they add the customizable shortcuts to 10.3 (ie Alt+A search for all attachments, Alt+F searched for all flagged etc). The search functionality in the email app works fine, it is just nice to have handy keyboard shortcuts.

Posted via CB10 from my amazing Q10

Although it's not a short cut key, you're aware you can find all attachments already? Hit the overflow menu, and then Attachments.
As for flagged messages, you can customize the priority hub to show only flagged messages. So just pinch the hub and Bob's you're uncle.

I miss just about everything from BIS. Please BlackBerry, bring back a modern BB10 version of BIS that is bundled with some yearly fee or something if carriers don't want to pay for it.

Blackberry only should scream those cool things loud out!

All those iOS and Android useres will never know what they are missing - they don't even know all the goodies from 10.1 and 10.2!

Posted via CB10

Now just release the monster q30 with this 10.3 and I really believe the old glory will be back

Posted from my Black Beast Q10

This would be an awesome feature. "Keep moving " now if we could see some Damn advertising for bb10. Where is it? Come on Chen.

Posted via CB10

Ask him, will be lithuanian language, costimizable push setting, numbers in numpad layout and more advanced dialer included?

Posted via CB10

Other things I would like to see are (at least):

A.) OS integrated Option to Block specific Numbers. Black-/Whitelist etc.

B.) PGP/GPP Support. After a Year, I finally want to throw that Android Device into the Bin . It sucks that I still need it to read my encrypted eMails.

Where is Your "Secure Enterprise Device" now BlackBerry? You love to kick Your Customer a*es right? The Time will come and we will kick your Butt's too

Via CB10 App / Z10-100-2@10.2.1.2947

Too many comments by Clewley on upcoming 10.3....keep it secret and wow us with new OS...will get bored soon after downloading

Log another vote for a simultaneous release from all carriers (if this is within BlackBerry’s abilities / powers to influence).

Beyond that wish list item I'd love to see the ability to set LED colors, but I doubt BlackBerry will want to take that revenue stream away from the software developers that are already selling their applications for this on BlackBerry World.
I tried using Power Tools for this and that application was nothing but frustrating unfortunately.

Am I the only one who thinks that this UI design is rubbish? The current one is not very good either, but at least it clearly separates meta information (e.g. sender and subject), content and actions from each other. On this screenshot, everything is white or light grey with some more grey lines and black text. I am not even sure whether the line “Download This” is the subject or the content. They are making exactly the same mistakes as Apple. I’m not happy about this direction, I hope this is a work in progress.

Are they bringing back the automatic on/off power we had with BBOS? I really miss setting my phone to a certain time where it will turn off or on by itself...and also the option where you can still receive phone calls even when the phone is "off".

Ready for the Os to drop blackberry along with Michael clewley-are doing a good job for the end consumers -
Michael so far the 10.3 is really awesome

In emails, when we " pinch to filter " to display all UNREAD mails, then the "previous and next" Overlays though visible don't take u to the next UNREAD mail, but just show all UNREAD mails.

This can be amended to open next unread mail to have continuity and go through the process of Reading all UNREAD mails much faster.

Posted via CB10

Pls pls pls.....i would really like to see the old call screen back...it was sooo elegant and different....in fact it was one of the highlights of BlackBerry....a difference from what we are seeing nowadays...the new call screen looks just like an android phn....OLD CALL SCREEN PLS COME BACK!!!!!!

Posted via CB10

Give it a rest, you can't swipe up that easily on a Z30 and Z3. That's why it was changed. Moving on...

Posted via CB10

Keep the updates going. But let's make 10.3 start the new marketing message. As stated in past articles, BLACKBERRY 10 is boring and "10.3" sounds boring too. I still like the idea of using Greek mythology to name the updates. I.e BlackBerry Apollo, Bromios, Cyclops and so on.

Posted via CB10

Release the update already. RIM needs to work on releasing this update to all providers at the same time. If apple has success at doing this, why can't RIM?

Posted via CB10

Options on icons, layouts of buttons, and themes.

I like Kevin, but I disagree with his opinions of the icons. Give options on things that are personal tastes

Posted via CB using my Q10

Although more of a BBM software issue, it would be great if 10.3 (or just a BBM update) would allow for multiple photo/file attachments.
While I'm at it, I'd like the ability to send larger files (mostly video captures) I realize that these things aren't free on the backend so find a way to charge for them.. like say BBM credits that can get used up and repurchased in blocks. You could use them to buy stickers or send large files or share music with friends.. get creative!

All the new updates seem really relevant but I have to say, if its permanent, having an"actual" home button REALLY SUKS. Why is it damn necessary to always follow the ios n android trend. UI is slowly becoming android centric. Have we become dumbed down as to actually want a home button. REALLY? BLACKBERRY is a strong enough global brand to warrant its own uniqueness. Why not teach new users to understand the principles and dynamic nature of BB10 instead of always bending to the general consumer. One of the best things about Blackberry, minus the massive layoffs, was is to create a TOTALLY next gen mobile experience WHICH IS UNIQUE TO BLACKBERRY. Why change those ideologies so we can be like everyone else? Users will inevitably want to choose what they want to use. Despite the idiocy of the negative trend towards Blackberry, Blackberry isnt going anywhere. Outside the mainstream Blackberry plays a very important n critical role.

Blackberry, my proverbial middle finger

Suggesting a password protected BlackBerry Secured Desktop Folder ( BBSDF )
The BBSDF would allow you the ability to quickly swipe gesture a desktop App into a password protected BBSDF so nobody can get access to the apps or read your texts , BBM or email messages , social apps, banking apps ...etc....until you swipe them back to your desktop. You could access your app with-in the BBSDF to read your messages etc...

1- Example : you could swipe gesture the HUB App into the BBSDF and it will automatically shutoff access to the HUB.

2- Example you could swipe gesture the Text App or BBM App into the BBSDF therefore you could only access the Texts or BBM messages via the BBSDF .

3- Example you swipe gesture your Social folder or Picture Folder or Banking Apps etc into your BBSDF .

The BBSDF is just a quick way to prioritize short term app security at your finger tips ( the beauty of gestures ).

I am sure the QNX multi Kernal should be able to handle this feature and at the same time keep running your HUB , Texts, BBM and all the Apps swiped into the BBSDF in real time.

Now all this could be fine tuned of course.

A good example is if I am attending biz or social event and I am making a Storymaker video or BlackBerry Express presentation or showing someone pictures, or a file and they pass my phone around I can quickly swipe my TEXT app , BBM app , my HUB and even a Social Folder ( FB, Twitter etc. ) or Banking app into the password protected BBSDF .

BlackBerry can have a free lite version and a Pro version for $2.99 for the BlackBerry Secured Desktop Folder feature.

someone suggested they can personalize the folder:
1- Timer setting for your folder to access the folder and your swiped items .
-example eg. 5 minutes , 20 minutes , 1 hour , 4 hours.
-even if the time elapses the password would still be required if your swiped items remains in the folder ( fine tune this )
-have a reset timer setting .

2- The other option is no timer .
Example You want the HUB you access the folder and open the HUB App or swipe out the HUB app to the desktop etc....and your HUB is functioning normal.

3- The folder is just a quick short term feature to close off access to your apps.

4- you could swipe your File manager App or certain files etc....

Update the music/media player! Let me determine the order of pictures! These are my 2 main gripes! I pretty much love the other 10000 things the Z10 does!

Customize instant previews for text in addiction to BBM Send even larger BBM files. When in personal and business s for BBM have a separate BBM number. So if you leave the company you can still keep your personal BBM's. And also block the company from having access to your personal side. Keep it totally separate. Faster response when using Android Apps.

What I want in 10.3 is for the OS to support TRIM. When Clewley was asked about this some time ago on Twitter he had no clue what it even is.

Posted via CB10

I hope this fixes the issue that required you to open every attachment you save.

A lot of times I don't want open attachments in email, I just need to save and do something else with them.

Seems obvious, right???

Wait a second. These things are all looking like great additions. Am pleasantly surprised.

Posted via CB10

Still waiting for music player update including equalizer options (really feel like the non business-only users of blackberry are getting a bit shafted here).

Also would like to see a "MARK ALL READ" Option in the hub!!!!

Posted via CB10

I am excited about 10.3 AND future devices....Blackberry is moving forward and not looking back :D

" The sleeping giant is about to wake up " Me

All good stuff!

Would also love for them to fix the duplicate contact issue.

It's really starting to irritate me and the only thing that grates me about me Z10. It's otherwise an awesome phone and a superb OS.

If you're listening, BlackBerry, please fix the duplicate contact issue!!!

Posted via CB10

Phone, Search and maybe Camera should go headless.

There is no point on these apps being on multitasking screen since those icons are always present on the bottom bar.

On swipe up these apps should just vanish like dictation does.

Another idea is to swipe a running app up from the task manager screen to close it in place of the small X.

I wish Blackberry would make a new charging port. Micro USB is Crap . Leave it for data transfer (if anything) only.
I've never liked the idea of a tiny weak port that's used for everything. They break easy, get worn out and become shaky. Yes they are popular and used by the majority of the industry. That still does not mean that they should be adopted.
Please consider an New port Team Blackberry.

Posted via CB10

I just hope they fix the BBM keyboard by moving or removing the Send Key from the lower right corner adjacent to the delete key and the "."

Causes too many premature sends

Posted via CB10

I had enough with this from blackberry, I don't trust blackberry anymore, maybe who knows, they do something like they did to playbook : os 10 is coming hurray then cancels their support.
I wanna see os 10.3 not stupid rumors

Posted via CB10

Good feature and very handy. But shouldn't kill the selective download option. Also they could think of giving real snapshots of pictures instead of the flower icon for images.

Posted via CB10

I'll like to see the option to erase all contacts.

I don't understand why the OS10 links all your social contacts automatically. With the legacy OS that didn't happened :(

Posted via the ultimate mobile compu... do I even need to mention it???

It would be nice to have the option of deleting only from the Hub when selecting to delete multiple emails at once. Currently, when multiple emails are selected for deletion it deletes them from both the Hub and the server - no option given.

Posted via CB10

Another feature that would be good to have is the capability of searching Contacts for information in the address or notes fields. Right now we can search the contacts by phone number, contact name or company. If I have multiple contacts on a street that I'm on and I don't recall their names I cannot locate them by doing a search for that street name. If I am on Outlook ( ie at the "server") I can. And if I log into Gmail I can. But I cannot do it on my BlackBerry!

Posted via CB10

A native call blocker please, absolutely going off my head with unsolicited calls and all the apps just block all calls.

Posted via CB10

Make the home screem bottom bar customizable like the legacy os and optionally increase the number of icons from 3 to 5. Personally, I do not use the phone / search / camera as much as I do say a browser or chat application and for enterprise the camera icon is often disabled and useless. The more customization features available, the better. Bring back THEMES.

To the topic at hand, I do not like the idea of having two finger gesture to access the quick settings from an app like the one finger gesture from the homescreen. It adds to the confusion and lack of consistency. It should be just the one finger gesture. The BlackBerry UI team should just do away with the design guide for having a separate application settings menu for an apps as more often than not they would have the same options in the overflow menu. While we're at it, take a deeper look at the navigation gestures of the PlayBook OS (corner swipes and in-app application switchers). I still don't understand those were not added.

Yes I'm enjoying the good sneak peeks. I would like to see the legendary silver outer bisel that gave icons a BB unique look

Boy was this long awaited. I stopped opening my friends emails with 20+ pics because i had to select the rest after the first few downloaded on their own.

I'd really like to see the Contacts app fixed. Had to reload my phone yesterday and my Contacts App has given new titles to some of them! More work for me to clean up the mess...

It would be so nice for a simple option of sorting camera photos "newest to oldest."
Everything is looking great!
BlackBerry "Flow" that they kept talking about so much way back before launch... They should keep that word in there to describe BB10 to the market because it really does just so. And keeps flowing better and better!

Posted via CB10

10.3 looking good so far, what about ability to set on/off times, I used this permanently on Os6/7 on my Torch for me bedside mode isn't really the answer.
Z10 for a year but I still miss my Torch! Now a BB10 with 10.3 on a slider - Nirvana?

Posted via CB10

Awesome, really need this one!

Good to see a company 'leak' out features. Way it should be done.

Blackberry HAS to fix its Contacts app. I've been a BlackBerry fan since 2007 and this BB10 has the worst Contacts application of any phone I have ever had. Contacts app was fine on BBOS but I'm so frustrated with my Z10 Contacts app.

Posted from Verizon Z10

It would be great for Blackberry to return the auto-BCC feature for e-mails. It is missed and its return would be most welcome.

Posted via CB10

That's awesome. I would also like to have the ability to send multiple pictures through BBM. I hope that they can add this feature in the near future.

Posted via CB10

Wow... we now have the OS moving closer to BBOS functionality... I love it....
and the no gradient on the icons and home screen... wow... I am loving it

-integrate trackpad app into os
-sync contacts birthdays and anniversaries with calendar automatically. ex i put a birthday on 01/01/2000 i want it to automatically appear in calendar as an all day event every year from 2000 to infinity
-today's and tomorrow's events visible all the time in the hub, not only if you swipe down
-adblock for browser
-private browsing remains selected until i deselect it not until i close the browser
-active frames behave like widgets in adroid and change in real time. atm weather, compass and other minimized apps are just pictures of the last screen before the app was minimized
-brief explanations of all the options. i'm tired of googleing everything to find out what a certain option does
-more customization of contacts, profiles etc
-more features in docs to go, excel is just a joke. you must be excel expert and know functions by heart.
even if you write for ex "=sum(" or "=sum(a1+" and want to select specific boxes to ad is not possible coz "this formula is incomplete"
-speak to text for all the languages that are available for keyboards. and work flawlessly
-offline maps. also the possibility to select starting point and end point of a route by touching the screen not by address.
-radio, network, gps signal strength in real time and integrated in the os. the current wifi signal strength is the one you got when connected to the network. if i move to the limit of the signal it show a powerful signal in dbm as i i was near the router when connected
-taskmanager shows all running processes not only bb aps.
-record button inside radio app
-record button for voice calls. or at least give the permission to devs for specific apps to record the handset mic not the speakers
-black/white list for calls with schedule, all not from contacts blocking, unknown number blocking, specific numbers or contacts blocking etc
-the possibility to edit numbers in the dialing pad. atm you have to delete everything if you got wrong 1 digit
-an option to deactivate the proximity sensor. it turns my screen black as soon as i answer the phone if no strong light hits the sensor and i cannot witch to speakers. even in daytime if i'm in the shadow of a building or the sky is covered by clouds. yes i-m using a screen protector and without that it works fine but give the option to chose not let me spend my money and then i find out i have to chose between one of them. i'm using the screen protector from bb.
-option to show numbers above keyboard all the time not just for passwords. is really annoying in excel or
technical emails to switch permanently between letters and numbers
-character counter in text messages

Can't wait for the new BlackBerry 10 OS. Good job to BlackBerry for making us look more forward to exciting things from them.

When instant preview is one and a message comes up. Ability to hold down the 'x' and delete it from the hub. Ie an email for advertising. Instead of ignoring it it and it still appears on the hub. Hold down the 'x' and it's gone, no need to go into the hub and delete manually.

Currently attachments to Calendar items cannot be viewed (unless there's an underlying message for an invitation in the Hub). Does anyone know if attachments to Calendar Items will be able to be viewed in the BlackBerry Calendar app with OS 10.3?
