Dock it up with the Mobi Products Desktop Charging Cradle for the BlackBerry Z10

While that elusive BlackBerry Z10 multimedia dock has never made an official appearance, luckily Z10 owners aren't totally out of luck when it comes to a great charging dock. The Mobi Products Desktop Charging Cradle for the BlackBerry Z10 comes to the rescue to take care of things. This simple charging dock lets you charge and/or sync your BlackBerry Z10 in style wherever you may be.

The dock itself isn't booming with features - but it doesn't need to be. It has a microUSB that plugs into the Z10 as well as a standard USB cable attached to the back of the dock. The cable can be used in your computer to sync and/or charge or plugged into the included power block to charge in any wall outlet. A simple blue LED on top of the dock lets you know it's working.

Just align your BlackBerry Z10 with the microUSB and slide it on. The device stays firm in the dock and can be used in landscape mode (great for using your Z10 as an alarm clock) or just left to charge.

The Mobi Products Desktop Charging Cradle for the BlackBerry Z10 has a good feel to it and looks great when the Z10 is docked. It holds firm to the device and does its one job well. Sadly it's not a full-out multimedia dock with a microHDMI as well, but we'll take it as it is regardless.

Check out the video above for a full look at the cradle then hit the link below to pick one up for yourself.

Lol Yeap, I know the official one is not out yet but that's the only way to fight the First decease, being quick with a relevant comment... :-)

I just ordered 3 of these the other day on eBay! If you don't need HDMI, $10 a pop is good...as long as it don't blow up your phone. You can also leave your phone in your case to charge depending on thickness of your case.

It will not. I have the Incipio Ultra light feather case and it still would not work. It is designed to be naked or yes with the transform case. I had to modify mine as i am not going to keep taking it out of the case.

Just be aware it does not work with a case on your phone, bought 2 and have to remove case for it to work. I have a case mate tough case and the other phone has a silicone bumper style and it is a tight fit for it to work and it doesn't connect up sometimes.

I really want this, but just one question -

Will my phone still restart at least once overnight? I don't want to lose that wonderful feature...

Would be nice if it charged using the contact patch on the battery cover instead so we don't wear out our usb ports. Obviously no sync with the contact patch...but with the new BlackBerry Link features, I may never sync with USB again.

There is no contact patch on the battery cover. That is just the logo. There is and NFC antenna on the inside of the battery door but that does not charge the phone.

Oh really? I always thought the NFC was inside, and the logo connected to the two leads connect to the battery. Well, I learn something new every day! :)

You can use the phone while it's docked, but unfortunately BB10 isn't exactly landscape friendly... some apps go landscape, but the icon grid doesn't, which is pretty annoying.

Needs a longer male micro HDMI similar to the docking station for the Xpera so it can accommodate the case. Especially the Otterbox Defender.

Bought both of these and love them. IMHO far superior to the one offered by CrackBerry. One has both USB / HDMI connection and the other is USB only for your bedside or desk. Best part is both have a special chip in them that monitors and prevents overcharging "Frying" the battery.

Oh, also forgot to mention that they both have a special insert that slips out to accommodate any case up to 1.7 mm to dock perfectly. If you prefer docking naked you just keep the insert in. My Z with the Poetic Atmosphere case on docks perfectly.

It looks like one of them has a slot to charge a spare battery as well, solid find, I will probably be ordering some tonight! :)

It certainly does. Sorry, forgot to mention that as well.

I have an Otterbox case for my Z10 so I am not sure if my BB would fit in there with the case on it... If it would I would definitely buy one of these. Do you have any insight on this?

It looks like they could add this as they have a filler plug in the back for an additional plug.

Why do they always insist on putting an LED light on these? They light up the room something bad at night. I wants teh dark! :)

Nothing a bit of electrical tape can't fix, but still. :)

I bought it and it's a pain in the ass to align. So i bought one on ebay for 5.99+shipping $11 total. It has guides and works great!

I got one of these the other day... I have the official case for my Z10 and it does not fit with the case on. I believe someone asked...? Also with the one I have I always get a warning on the screen saying to charge faster I should use the official cable. Wrote the the amazon seller, who said this should not be happening... a week later am still waiting for the replacement to come through. Anyone else had this problem?

I haven't found a charging cradle for my Z10 in my local Best Buy or Future Shop. This seemed like a pretty good price, so I thought I'd order it.

No HDMI port = no purchase from me.
I'd rather have both, you never know when you want that HDMI connection.

Id like to know what the amp ratting is on the USB charger? I have seen some that have the same output as a lowly USB port (500mW) which is not good enough at all.

I have the one from Crackberry. Just received it yesterday actually. Mine takes a lot of effort to get the phone off of the charger. It also isn't that easy to get it on the charger. Worried it is going to break the port on my Z10.

Posted via CB10

Not gonna buy one. The Z10 is not optimized for docking since no touch patch available. I'd rather plug the cable in in this case

I'm holding out until there's one with the hdmi connection. I can come home, dock the "Mobile Computing Device" MCD and watch movies, surf the net with a blue tooth keyboard.
