OMG, I have been waiting for an app like this since, hell phones came out... literally. I'm downloading this immeditely. If it works like it says it does, it's WAY underpriced! Thank you Thank you THANK YOU!

Let me know if the phone rings once before its blocked. If so I wont get it. Most of them still ring once or twice then sends it over to voicemail...that's purposeless. If I'm blocking a call I do not want to be disturbed. I want a blocker that doesn't ring at all if a call is being blocked.

I just found that all of Roger's new plans post SAF include this feature called Call Manager which is pretty much the same thing with the exception it is maintained online on rogers.com vs on the device. But nevertheless it does the job and its included free. :)

If you go to rogers.com and just click on Plans it will tell that each plan has the features available at no extra charge(you do need to opt in meaning call and specific ask for it but its free)it was part of the deal with getting rid of the SAF and increasing each price plan by $5 Rogers added a bunch of free extras included Call Manager along with other stuff like free call forward and that annoying Who called.

Another redundant app for you suckers. Callsblocker is FREE and does the EXACT same thing, but why get it for free when you can pay? Also callsblocker can block prefixes such as 800, 888, etc...

Where can I find callsblocker for free? Thanks

Posted by mookish Thursday, Dec 10, 2009 794 days ago

Get callsblocker for free here: http://bit.ly/eBekx

Intergrates into the OS menu also, no need to enter numbers manually.

Too bad, it's not compatible with BB Tour.

on my 9700 and if I have the phone set to ring and vibe it does ring once. If on vibe then ring it vibes once before sending to voice mail. I tried all settings and it was the same on all of them. I'll stick with iCallmanager since I've had it for so long and it works.

I would like to know if I have to manually type in the number(s) I want be blocked, and if I can add numbers directly from the call log or addressbook. But most of all, I wanted to know if this have the option to pickup/hangup, avoiding a voicemail altogether. If it has these options, I buy it in a heartbeat.

Stuff like this is not already in the OS. But the king of e-mail still truncates - so I guess I'll need an app for this too.

Posted by hudss Thursday, Dec 10, 2009 794 days ago

still rings once..still have to add numbers manually..no pickup/hangup option...no where to close..it's always running in the application switcher. They're far more better call blockers for less or even free..

....and all that for a sale price of $6.99!!! Just another useless, expensive app.

Posted by Fredstar Thursday, Dec 10, 2009 794 days ago

a program like that would be perfect tho...

I actually use a competing product (Call Filter), and in my experience with it and with CallFirewall on WinMo, the phone will usually ring at least once. I've created my own work around by using the program along with profile exceptions (e.g. mute the ringer on all incoming calls except certain callers). It seems to do the trick.

I used to own the BlackBerry Curve 8330 and it used to have a profile option in which you could enable DND with a checkbox. Anyone know what happened to this feature?

Posted by mookish Thursday, Dec 10, 2009 794 days ago

The Do Not Disturb feature is present under phone options in OS 4.X, I loved that feature, OS 5.0 does away with that feature, why I'll never know.

This app looks awesome and very user friendly, does the app block sms and mms messages from numbers you dont want to recieve them from? that would top it off.

Is it just me, or does it seem like the cost of apps being developed now are becoming more and more expensive. This app, though I haven't tried it yet, is offering at "an introductory price" of ONLY $6.99 ??

I never have a problem paying for the things I want and use, but I'm starting to feel like some of these developers are taking advantage of us....

Just my $.02

I agree. One of the only apps I believe is worth more than $5.00 is BeeJive.

Posted by peestandingup Thursday, Dec 10, 2009 794 days ago

I agree. Charging $6.99 for an app like this is a joke. And its not just this app, I've noticed a lot of Blackberry developers charging WAY too much for their apps. I mean, who'd pay that much for something like this??

Ya'll BB developers need to wise up I think.

Posted by BlkBear Thursday, Dec 10, 2009 794 days ago

What would you pay for any app you'd use?

If this app were free would you use it then?

If you could program an app, would you release all the apps for free?

And if you could program an app to do anything on the BB, what would your first app do?

Posted by peestandingup Thursday, Dec 10, 2009 793 days ago

It depends on what kind of app we're talking about. If its something a bit more high-end, then I could see myself paying more.

But for something like this? A buck or two, tops. Esp when there's other apps that do the exact same thing for either free or around the $2-$3 range. I mean, in what world does it make sense to charge 3 times as much for the same exact function??

BB developers also have to consider what they're up against, namely Apple's app store. You cant charge sky high fees for your apps when the iPhone App Store charges a buck or two for the same caliber of apps. All thats doing is pushing people further away from the BB platform.

Hi guys,
Just want to let you know Simtak has the software works flawlessly. It won't ring your phone at all, it rings other end once then hang up. if this what you want then go to simtak.com $4.99

Posted by Coach101 Thursday, Dec 10, 2009 794 days ago

I think I have tried them all...Privacy Manager is the best of the bunch but comes at a best of the bunch price of 14.99 no single ring then blocked or sometimes works sometimes not...privacy manager works every time!

Oh, yes. The "trial" version works fine to block 5 calls. There is where you're tempted to purchase it for $9.99. But beware! Once you PAY for it, it does not block calls of any kind. A worthless piece of crap. I am requesting (and will hopefully receive) a refund.
