bbaddict30 Jan 16, 2012 at 5:53 pm
Does this work with 1.08.6067?
Ruslan Botsyurko Jan 16, 2012 at 6:25 pm
I'd like to know that too, anybody tested on the 1.08.6067 ? 2.0 is fine, but quite unstable and I wasn't able to run the USBhost on that, so I downgraded to 1.0.8 and now I can't even jailbreak, looks like RIM patched the both the last version of OS 2.0 and 1.0 :(
@ivansharris Jan 16, 2012 at 5:58 pm
yeah thats my problem...
what can you do once you have entered the matrix...lol

I know people are really liking the dingleberry hack... but Rim really needs to get this whole patched up if they want to entice developers. I know some developers would love to open things up and make things interesting with the hack BUT developers wont like the pirating that will happen along with it. One of the biggest problems with android is that developers dont make as much money as iOS. If RIM brings android developers over and shows them that downloading free apps isnt as big, which will make them more money then we will see new apps being released like crazy.

Rim did patch the "hole". You should know that, if you're plugging a BB app website, if you have the latest OS then the hole is patched. App developers are used to piracy (unfortunately)...since both iOS and Android (depending on the device) can be jailbroken/rooted.
BB10Apps.com Jan 16, 2012 at 7:08 pm
Well last time I read something on it RIM had an update for it but the dingleberry guys found another way the next day that was the last I heard about it. Its a cat and mouse game I lost track of both forgive I am only human!!!... :P

I don't think people get's it. It's very simple. Why there is more IOS app download ? because they work on all the IOS phone, Ipad, Ipod Touch plus all the kids have gift card ect. The day RIM will have multy phone, PB and offer gift card, you will see the amount of download going crazy. It's simple, it needs to works on everything, not one day you have a phone you upgrade it and then you lost that money on that app.
q649 Jan 16, 2012 at 6:10 pm
How long will people with rooted playbooks stick with 2.0.4x after the official 2.0 release, with native email, etc? This is the only reason that i havent bothered rooting mine.
BB10Apps.com Jan 16, 2012 at 6:15 pm
Did they completely close the whole with OS 2.0??

Agree.Let's wait after official 2.0 release.By the way, CES RIM's demos and videos (android market support!) look really promising.
What i haven't seen in it is everything related to multimedia (music app,any camera software update?);yes, video chat but what else?
jtash Jan 16, 2012 at 6:33 pm
dingleberry.it is still showing ver 2.11 and NOT ver 3.
BB_Bmore Jan 16, 2012 at 6:39 pm
Hulu just aint that good for me to go and dingle my berry.
stackberry369 Jan 16, 2012 at 7:29 pm
You be dingling your berry?ll
Tony2255 Jan 16, 2012 at 7:04 pm
once rooted you can upgrade to the newest os. no problem
q649 Jan 16, 2012 at 7:23 pm
Hmmm, then that would indeed be worth looking into.
homer1475 Jan 16, 2012 at 7:31 pm
wow another useless root. Look I have hulu big woop de do da. Are people still doing this?
BB_Bmore Jan 16, 2012 at 8:36 pm
In other news I just got a appworld update...for appworld itself. But no one would know that because they are to busy dingling their berry's.
jgomez27 Jan 16, 2012 at 8:40 pm
How do I get Android market running after I do this???
cracknerd123 Jan 16, 2012 at 8:47 pm
has anyone gotten this to work on os x lion and if so can i get some detailed instructions
CrackBerryTorch9800 Jan 16, 2012 at 8:53 pm
So is this just them reusing the same access point? But helping people to downgrade so they can root it?
diruocco Jan 16, 2012 at 10:44 pm
The mac version looks pretty complicated.
I think it would be great if crackberry or someone could do a demonstration video giving us the step by step tutorial on how to do this. :)
BB_Bmore Jan 16, 2012 at 10:56 pm
wow i have a bricked playbook out of no were and the dm wont connect or update...i wish db could fix my brick.
lokey40 Jan 16, 2012 at 11:24 pm
Well i guess the big thing here is what is the advantage or rooting, what do u really get out of it and there is always the chance of having a paper weight, i think i will wait for the ota update of os 2.0 and than see if rooting is worth the risk
TeaBoy Jan 17, 2012 at 12:02 am
ummm...2.0 is almost here =)
bulls2213 Jan 17, 2012 at 12:25 am
Understand that Netflix would be quite a task, but thats about the only reason I would Dingle these days. Still can't believe the PlayBook doesnt have it yet.
auditman Jan 17, 2012 at 1:28 am
how bout netflix? plz
TheMarco Jan 17, 2012 at 1:45 am
Sorry but this whole thing is a completely wasted effort. With DingleBerry 3 I finally managed to root my device and install everything but the experience is absolute CRAP. Most things don't work, apps randomly crash or freeze and after updating to the latest PB OS my Android Marketplace stopped working altogether. I'm sure this works for some people but for me it's been a waste of many hours I could have used in a more useful way.
So... beware before you get started and even if you get this to work you may still wonder if it was all worth it.
P.S. HuluBerry happily tells me my platform is NOT supported so I suppose Hulu patched that hole already.
andino Jan 17, 2012 at 1:58 am
Does this work on 2.0.0.6149?
inkwire Jan 17, 2012 at 2:01 am
Ditto "TheMarco"
all of my Android to Bar apps no longer work after rooting with Dingleberry3
AfroLoGeek Jan 17, 2012 at 3:12 am
I really think it's no worth rooting the PB now, as the official 2.0 release is coming.
Dingleberry guys did a great job and they deserve for their work, but i'll wait for the release first, really check my backups and give a trial after....and maybe not !! ;'D
jamesadam432 Jan 17, 2012 at 8:17 am

If you want the platform to be taken seriously wouldn't a different name for the jailbreak have been a good idea? It's good work and all but seriously. The name ruins the entire thing. Its almost as bad as theme developer pootermobile.....
skull121 Jan 17, 2012 at 9:52 am
3.02 is out. 'New download server (bnxtreme) to replace the old one that wasn't working anymore. Server is no longer hardcoded'.
bbaddict30 Jan 17, 2012 at 10:01 am
So i up/downgraded to 2.0, rooted, upgraded to 1.08.6067, huluberry and root persisted. I am missing all the backgrounds tho. but all my apps stayed throughout the process and all my saved games etc stayed put.
bbaddict30 Jan 17, 2012 at 10:03 am
And now huluberry is broken! Wonderful!!
GianniSoldi Jan 20, 2012 at 12:22 am
i updated and now i can't access my bridge. i get the message "the browser does not know how to handle the web page" for any of the bb bridged apps. ??
