Straight from Twitter, service provider Dialog Axiata (formerly Dialog Telekom) introduced prepaid BlackBerry service plans in Sri Lanka – a first of its kind. Two prepaid service plans are available to choose from, both of which include unlimited e-mail and free BlackBerry Messenger usage for a day. The more affordable BB15 plan, as its name suggests, costs Rs. 15 per day (~0.15 USD), while the BB25 plan adds free mobile Internet (through the BlackBerry Browser) for Rs. 10 more. The latter plan also supports media downloading, video streaming and tethering for Rs. 2 per megabyte.
To activate either prepaid service plan, send BB15 or BB25 to 678. Please note that prepaid service will be automatically deactivated once the customer has insufficient credit balance in his or her prepaid account. Upon reloading sufficient balance the service is reactivated automatically. So, any CrackBerry readers from Sri Lanka taking advantage of this offer?
