Developers Guide Available for GPS and BlackBerry Maps

In the news the other day I noticed that RIM had recently published a GPS and BlackBerry Maps development guide for all you developers out there. Cool beans!
What can the guide help you do? Well, in all honesty I'm not a developer so I have no clue. But I'm betting there will be some cool apps that come of this.
If a developer out there could build me an app to help me find the closest coffee shop no matter where I am... it would be appreciated!

Lol, I'm a coffee addict too, and when I'm in a new city that I don't know, I use a new site called www.ziplocal.com and it works great on my blackberry!
