Hello again readers! Dear Berry is here once again with a mailbag full of BlackBerry questions and woes. Today's question comes from a reader who asks:
How do I change the name of my device? I have a few BlackBerry devices and when I go to connect them to a Bluetooth device or to BlackBerry Link it's confusing seeing the long BLACKBERRY name and distinguishing between them.
Being able to change the name of your BlackBerry device, essentially creating a nickname, is a rather simple process. When you change the name, it makes it easier for you to discover and identify it on other devices as well as on your Wi-Fi network.
All you have to do is follow these quick steps.
- Swipe down from the top of the screen on the home screen
- Tap Settings and then About
- In the Device Name field, enter in the new name for your BlackBerry 10 device
- Changes are automatically saved. Once complete you can swipe back to System Settings or out of the application
You can also change it within BlackBerry Link itself, but for the sake of simplicity it's easier to just do it on device as the changes made there will carry across to Link anyway. See you next time!
Have a question about BlackBerry etiquette? Need advice on how to cope with your BlackBerry addiction? Dear Berry has you covered and there's no question too big or problem too small. Submit any of your BlackBerry woes by email to [email protected] or on Twitter @DearBerryCB.
