Deal of the Day  BerryWeather

BerryWeather is perhaps the best weather application for BlackBerry. It has an insane amount of features, and its totally customizable. It features a homescreen icon with temperature and conditions, weather alerts, multiple locations, forecasts, radar and more. The $9.95 tag may be a bit high for some users, but you can grab it today as the Deal of the Day for only $4.97. This is a excellent price for an app like this, so if you haven't picked it up yet now it your chance. Head over to the CrackBerry App Store to download.

Nice timing! I almost bought this yesterday for my new 9700 and then said to myself, "Nah, I'll wait until it's the Deal of the Day on CrackBerry again." lol

By: longhairbilly | Date: Fri, 11/27/2009 - 09:44

Looks like I'll grab it. I have been using Weather Eye. It's free so it's hard to complain. I'm just tired of "Sorry, Data is unavailable" every time I launch it.

Does BerryWeather work well in Canadaland?

I know some weather apps are US only

If you google "bellshare berryweather" the bellshare forum will be at top of search then click on the tabs at the top of their home page and you will see how to transfer the license from devices.

Question though... has Bellshare determined how much (if any) the 2.0 upgrade is going to cost 1.5 owners? I'd hate to recommend 1.5 now if 2.0 is going to be an additional cost...

Thanks,
Jason

I purchased at sale price, and after purchasing...recieved download info from MobiHand. Now, when I click on "umbrella" on my homescreen I get an error message saying..."Class 'net.rim.blackberry.api.homescreen.HomeScreen' not found...and I get nothing!!!

Somebody please tell me I didn't waste $5.00 on this.

Along with what somone else said about contacting their CS (since can't post links here) if you google "bellshare berryweather" it will be in top of search then you can go to their home page/forum. I think on their forum you would get quicker response, oh have you done the battery pull thing if it did not ask for a reboot after you installed?

By: pfluger | Date: Fri, 11/27/2009 - 11:21

You probably downloaded the OS 4.7 version on a non OS 4.7 device. Go to http://m.bellshare.com/berryweather and download BerryWeather for OS 4.2.1 and higher

Make sure you uninstall the current version first. You will be able to use your activation code to unlock the installation after download.

I am sure something just glitched. Just send an email to them and they will get back to you. Perhaps a little slower today but they will.

No worries.

What makes this better than WeatherBug or BBWeather? And both are free.

By: DavidNC | Date: Fri, 11/27/2009 - 10:43

I like berryweather but not everyone will agree just cuz, lol. There are vids on youtube compairing the weather eye, weatherbug, berryweather. And you can decide maybe from that .

By: schlinger | Date: Fri, 11/27/2009 - 22:06

I used to use WeatherBug and it does not compare. This is more detailed, more reliable, and easier to use.

Ok...my panties are officially un-wadded. I'm an idiot. App installed properly, and working great after deletion and re-install. Thanks for the deal!!

You won't find a better weather app period. I have tried them all and this is hands down the best.

By: ba_hamilton | Date: Fri, 11/27/2009 - 11:27

Best app ever! The thing that makes this better than the other apps is the customizable radar. I love the radar feature in this app. The standard radar does not show much. Head on over to the bellshare website on how to set up the radar to your liking.

I have had Berryweather for awhile. It lacks one thing-showing present wind speed and direction (would help if planning on outdoor activity). How do you contact Berryweather to see if they plan on adding wind data in the future??

By: periwinklemoon | Date: Sat, 11/28/2009 - 09:30

I have the trial downloaded (for my Tour). I can see wind direction and speed if I go into BWeather menu and select "View Full Daily" or "View Full Hourly". I'm still getting the hang of it, but also just found out if you're viewing weather screen, click trackball, click again, each time it offers more detailed info and will include wind speed and direction. So guess that would be a shortcut. ;)

To me this is still a little too much. It should be $4 regular and maybe $1-3 on sale. I know they have to make money but come on...

By: callcom | Date: Fri, 11/27/2009 - 12:36

Just downloaded to my 8900 and it works perfectly with all the information/customization I could ever use. Will purchase today after I get my new Bold 9700 later this afternoon!

By: SubyWill | Date: Fri, 11/27/2009 - 13:32

with 2.0 coming out soon, how much will the upgrade price be? will this work well on a 8330 curve with os 5.0?

By: Zahlgor | Date: Fri, 11/27/2009 - 14:16

Finally broke down and picked this up and I have to say I'm impressed. I've been using the free weatherbug for as long as I can remember but this one is much better. Its very fast, amazing looking, and extremely accurate in the Boston area.
Thanks for the heads up and for the sale!!

I purchased this for my Storm. It actually worked pretty well. If you own a storm, then you know you have to continually update your OS. I updated my OS, and the code I was given at the time of purchase was no longer any good. I sent them 2 emails, and they refuse to respond. I used this for less than a month. If you don't mind buying this every time you do an update, then purchase it. If you expect to purchase this once, and use it after an update you are mistaken. Very unsatisfied with customer service.

By: supermario6582 | Date: Sat, 11/28/2009 - 13:19

I took advantage of this offer and I must say. This is by far the best weather app I have used. Very happy with my decision to buy this.

By: Oldesalt | Date: Sat, 11/28/2009 - 14:55

I have had many problems with this app. I recommend you read and heed all of the comments here as I did not. Would not update and locked up my Tour where I had to pull the battery at least five times. Finally dumped it and will dispute my credit card.

By: uwbadger69 | Date: Sat, 11/28/2009 - 15:44

DO NOT BUY THIS APP...it isnt worth it even at the 50% off price. Shows fog/haze when clear, temp is always off, customer support has been missing ...and unheard from ...looks nice, but the info is totally off....even after updates it is WRONG, WRONG, WRONG.....DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY for this thing, it is a terrible app..........Crackberry should ban it from their site ...a horrible app.

Well I did purchased BerryWeather for the sale price. I have been very happy with it so far. Works fine for me. Went to the Bellshare website and followed the "BerryWeather--How To" set up. Had no problems.

Looking forward to see what new and or improved features are coming out in BerryWeather 2.

By: wbrian | Date: Sat, 11/28/2009 - 23:12

How do I get it at this price? I have it already on my Bold. I want to put it on my wife's Bold, too. It's a GREAT app.
Is there a code or did I miss out already?
Thanks!
B.

I posted here because this is the first page that popped up on my blackberry when I hit the Crackberry quick launch icon on my Tour, so here it is. Why aren't you guys all over this???? Us novice users are frustrated on trying to tether and at half off this is way better for someone like me. I have spent hours and hours reading posts and messing with my computer and still have not figured how to tether for free. So I got Tetherberry on Thanksgiving day when I noticed on thier site it was 50% off. I keep looking to see if you guys are letting everyone know and I don't see it anywhere and In your crackberry app store if you try and purchase Tetherberry it is full price????????????????????????

So here it is. Straight from the Tetherberry site.

TetherBerry 50% Off Special Until November 30th
Don't miss this one-time offer of TetherBerry at 50% off.
For Black Friday through to Cyber Monday, we're offering at an unbelievable 50% off. This offer ends November 30th at 6PM EST.

Nice deal, I just paid 10 bucks 2 days ago, oh well thats the way it goes, by the way BeWeather works great.

By: engops | Date: Fri, 01/08/2010 - 06:03

After spending so much $ over the holidays it would be nice if they dropped the price a little. I really want this app, but $10 is a little steep. =/
