[Pre]defined

Are you a big fan of the Palm WebOS look and feel, but not quite ready to put down your BlackBerry to convert just yet? Over at BerryWorx they have made it possible for you to have the best of both worlds on your device. [Pre]defined offers users a crisp set of Palm Pre icons, along with a very nice overall rounded feel to the theme, much like the Palm Pre device offers. The navigation of the theme is rather basic, with a simple bottom dock with 5 user defined icons, which replicates the actual device rather nicely. The menus are very easy to read with a great color combination to add a very unique look to this theme. This theme is available for your 83xx and 88xx BlackBerry devices running OS 4.5 only, so sadly only those that are still holding on to older device can get in on this one. If you enjoy to theme your BlackBerry as another device, this theme is something you will want to check out.

Contest: We have 50 copies of [Pre]defined to give away. Just leave a comment on this post to enter. Contest ends this Sunday at Midnight PST.

Happy Thanksgiving from CrackBerry.com!
Posted in Site Stuff on 26 Nov 2009 08:15 by Adam Zeis | 74 comments

Happy Turkey Day

Happy Thanksgiving to the CrackBerry Nation. I'll be off eating my way through the day with my family, and hope you all will be doing the same. Its not often that I have an excuse to eat more than one dinner and double dessert, so I take full advantage of the holiday. If you can handle it, try to put the Berry (or Berry's) away for a bit and spend some time with family and friends. Don't worry - we'll still be here tomorrow when you get back, so a day away from us won't kill you :-)

Google Apps Connector Gets Updated
Posted in BlackBerry Apps on 25 Nov 2009 15:01 by Bla1ze | 6 comments

Google Apps Connector Gets Updated!

When Google first announced their Apps Connector their main focus was to be placed on those companies that were running a BlackBerry Enterprise Server with a couple hundred BlackBerry smartphones attached to it. Google quickly realized that users of all sizes were taking on Apps Connector and found they needed to grow their support sizes to what is now 500 users per BlackBerry Enterprise Server, which is double the previously supported number. Have a look at the features and see if it's a fit for your business.

Overview of features:

  • Messages sent to your Gmail inbox are pushed to your BlackBerry within 60 seconds.
  • Emails read/deleted on your BlackBerry are marked as read/deleted in Gmail, and vice-versa.
  • Synchronize BlackBerry folders with labels in Gmail.
  • Search for email addresses and phone numbers of other users on your company domain.
  • View your Google Calendar schedule on your native BlackBerry application, with one-way synchronization from Google Calendar to your BlackBerry device.
  • Contacts in Gmail are automatically synchronized with your BlackBerry address book
  • BlackBerry Professional Software is now supported

Google Apps Connector is great for businesses who are looking to save
some money on their networking cost but it does still fall short in
some areas of PIM function especially when it comes to two-way sync of
calendars. Here's to hoping that Google will see the need and get to
work on that.

Elevated Automotive Loan & Lease Calculator - 5000 Free Copies
Posted in BlackBerry Apps on 25 Nov 2009 13:28 by Adam Zeis | 205 comments

Elevated Automotive

Elevated Automotive is testing out their new loan & lease calculator app. The application hopes to make buying or leasing a car as easy as can be, and soon to be a complete car buying tool. They have just updated to version 1.5.1, and have 5000 free copies to give away.

The calculator's simple, clean interface allows users to quickly compute their exact car payments using the same information that dealers use to calculate payments in their computer systems. Whether you need to see the difference in your payment based on the length of the loan, you need to see exactly how much that extra down payment will affect the loan, or you just want to see the difference between a loan and a lease, you no longer have to wait for your salesman to go back and forth to his boss to make a decision.

To check it out, just head over to Elevated Automotive to download the free app.
