CrackBerry Idol back in action - FINAL ROUND device reviews hit the blogs this week!

When we first launched CrackBerry Idol 2010 competition we knew the event would carry on for the better part of the summer - a competition like this takes time. What we didn't know though was just how talented and fierce the competition would be! After literally months, we're down to the nitty gritty... the final five in the final round of CrackBerry Idol. In the end, the community will vote for ONE winner, but first we'll get to see a lot of great reviews hit the blogs this week.

Final Round - the Device Review: The final round of CrackBerry Idol is the BlackBerry device review. To keep the content interesting for our readers and fair yet challenging for our competitors, each finalist received a BlackBerry Torch 9800 (that they'll get to keep) and has been assigned a particular usage profile from which to review the device (business user, new to BB, social user, etc.). I've already done the full-out CrackBerry BlackBerry Torch Review, so these will be follow-up reviews that assess the Torch's performance based on how a person would use the device given a particular set of needs. It's going to be good! The first review will go live later tonight. Stay tuned. And good luck to our competitors!

Joseph Dave Kerri Aloha Joe.. Im sorry guys.. Ive been supporting you guys and all, but unfortunately, but I honestly dont think its the commenter of CB, but you guys just dont have a tits anda phone stuck between them.

Brittney, you capitalized on what sells, and you did it early. Im ashamed of Adam, Kevin, Blaize etc.. WHy dint they put a "normal" picture, instead of the 2010 slutpose?

It seems as though some in the community are split between voting for Brittany and Kerri because they are hot or *not* voting for Brittany and Kerri because they are hot. Over the last couple of weeks, I've gotten to talk quite a bit with both of them. The truly amazing thing? They both have heads atop their shoulders.

This contest is about writing and presenting ability. While Kerri and Brittany are both attractive ladies, I don't think either of them want that to be the reason they win CrackBerry Idol.

I know for a fact that both of them have put a great deal of work and very long days into crafting their reviews of the Torch 9800. Please don't cheapen their effort by voting with your (redacted).

Speaking for myself, I hope the CrackBerry Nation will vote for us based on our merit; not our appearance. I may be a bit biased there, never being gifted in the looks department. CrackBerry Idol is your chance to bring a new voice to the table, not a new body.

Aloha Joe, Brittany, Dave, Kerri: It's been great getting to know you over the last few weeks; Best of Luck to you in the coming days!

If she does win future reviews will be liquified down to a slurry, and the perspective on things is from someone who has never put an appointment their calendar other then getting nails done or hit the mall. This does not represent a large enough percentage of us to even have her write occasional articles.

Here's the "Administrator" in me stepping up and asking about policy & procedure.

But were the final votes tallied via users? Or was there some input from the CB Team? I think for transparency the Final Votes need to be made Public.

I think its fair to say that a lot of people have been bashing specific "Idols" and while I may agree, or not, I don't think it's appropriate for the Final Vote to go "behind the scenes". I believe that your mission for this whole competition was to drum up awareness, competition and creativity. You've succeeded....and then some.

But in order to maintain the high standard of quality production that many of us users come to expect from CB, I believe the Final Vote should be made public as to avoid any discrepancies.

Just my two cents...hope to hear some more ideas.

The more I think about it.....I think the profile setup for the final round is a big fail.

It's created a lot of venom. People arguing about terms (i.e., soccer Mom), etc.

I think we should have leveled the playing field and just had each of them do a straight up review. Apples to apples.

I know that to keep fan base happy you want to have a presenter that appeals to them. But being a long time BB user and electronic techie, I have to say hands down Aloha Joe is where its at. I saw the reviews for Brittany, and by no means am bashing her. However her reviews where truly sub-par to the remaining reviewers. Most of the people who are voting for her probably are the ones who come on talking about leaving BB and going to Apple/Android but still log on to complain. I understand that most of us old time BB users come from some kind of business background or technical background, and appreciate a thorough and professional presentation of things relating to our BB's. And of course as the market grew and more consumer based products came from RIM more types of people came into the BB arena. And of course being so, we must accommodate to the many new members to the BB community. But by no means should the quality of the community should degrade to do so. I could understand if Brittany was trendy and "hip" to the times. But are we to pick her or anyone else for that matter primarily for looks? When anyone who is a conscious consumer goes shopping, they are looking for the product that received a thorough review which represented the capabilities and quality of the product with out the gab. Now of course understanding the value of marketing and impulse buying, sure there are those who might associate their next case purchase to breast that was attached to it. That gave them a special feeling inside or out. Which of course lead back to many who impulsively jumped on the BB wagon to only later complain and/or leave for a device that is more catered for them. And thats fine, you live and you learn. But don't make us committed BB users have to sort through their ranting and talks of other non-BB material to enjoy quality reviews and comments to name a few. Thanks for your time.

otherwise if brittany wins, im done here.. her reviews are sub par and she even says she isnt all that advanced and smart about BB's..

just saying, if she wins, the constant is clearly about some broad who put a phone by her tits and said i gotta BB pick me?(pouty face)
