* LAST DAY TO ENTER: Ok, the truth is I love this blog post image so any excuse to run it again is fine with me, but we are down to the FINAL HOURS of this contest... so get in for your chance to win 1 of 2 BlackBerry PlayBooks. If you haven't dropped and given us your list of apps you'd like to see come to the BlackBerry PlayBook, stop what you're doing and do this now!! *

OK, so you don't actually have to drop and give us 20 pushups, but you will have to stop what you're doing, give it some thought, and let us know with a comment to this blog post the top apps/games/services/etc. you'd like to see come to the BlackBerry PlayBook. The time it takes will be worth the effort, as we'll be picking two lucky winners from among those who drop and give us their must-have app list to win a FREE BlackBerry PlayBook. For this contest we're not talking the small stuff here, but the big hitting apps and services and names you know and use that are out there on other platforms but not yet on the PlayBook. For example, Angry Birds, Skype, Kindle, etc...

  • Prizes: Two brand new BlackBerry PlayBooks are up for grabs for two lucky winners.
  • How To Enter: Leave a comment to this blog post listing the apps/services/games you want to see come to the BlackBerry PlayBook in YOUR order of priority. If you can come up with 20, that's awesome. If it's less, that's ok too. Just spill your guts on what apps you REALLY want to be able to install on your PlayBook asap!
  • Contest Details: Contest open worldwide. Deadline is midnight ET on June 30th, 2011.  Please just leave one comment to this post. We'll announce the winners on July 1st, 2011.
For some more insight on where PlayBook apps are at, be sure to check out our PlayBook Apps Initiative thread in the forums. That's it. Now drop what you're doing, and give us 20!!!  Best of luck!

1. KINDLE - the playbook is a perfect size for e-books, can't go wrong with this
2. Docs to Go - Word/PPT/Spreadsheet -- the Blackberry is a business device, and the playbook can add to that reputation by doing an excellent tablet transition for this
3. Angry Birds - or a game of it's kind, whether your a hardcore gamer or not, this is countless time passing fun
4. Dropbox - essential for those who use several devices and want to function their BB with their Playbook
5. Blackberry Messenger - the number #1 social networking/messaging tool, has to be in the PB!
6. Native Twitter/Facebook integrated apps, use the PB to take pictures, or browse links and directly connect them with friends on either Social Networking site, a must!
7. Skype - Great for video chat with others, works well with portability of the playbook
8. Brick breaker - Playbook version ;) why not have the premiere game back?
9. Photoshop/Photo editing client - great for on the go editing of pictures or images
10. Divx/Xvid player for playing more video formats
11. TaskManager/Process Killer -- make your battery life more efficient and kill tasks with a native app
12. Radio Station App -- stream your favorite radio station incase you don't have any music, great for the home!
13. Arcade game app - play a collection of old school arcade games for fun right on your playbook, namco's pacman, or atari, whatever works!
14. Music app - some kind of music app to play/create/edit music tracks, or instruments, something for portable DJ'ers to play with
15. Opera Browser or something new, Chrome? (is it possible with android marketplace?)
16. Crackberry app store - for when you run out of apps in the regular BB App world :)
17. Two Factor Authentication to use for security measures, protect your email, or use your Playbook as a two factor device to log in to other accounts! Who knows? Trying to think all around the box ;)
18. Netflix - why download movies when you can stream them instantly! :)
19. Weather app - to check the weather around your local city
20. Fitness App -- for those who want to use their Playbook to do the P90x workouts! or have a list of their own!

That's my list, hope you guys like it

Ubersocial: I haven't seen any reports about it but I cannot stand the original app and I would definitely want that instead of it.

Social Feed: Is it included on Playbook or accesible through Bridge? I can't tell but I love it on my phone and I think it would be great on Playbook.

Google Reader: Social Feeds collation of blogs is great, but there are a lot I follow and I would like something to sync up to my reader account so that I don't have to manually "read" things from my computer even if I've read them from my phone (or hopefully Playbook).

Pandora: I think the reasons are obvious.

Words with Friends: I've seen the blackberry versions...but I'd like to play with my iToy and Robot friends.

Beta Zone: I would like to be able to use beta versions of apps on Playbook...if I get one :)

That's all I can think of.

The PlayBook seems quite powerful. I think RIM should show people how this could be used as a laptop replacement by creating an app that would allow a user to plug in a fold up keyboard that has a slide out touch pad, that simulates touching the screen - or a laptop touchpad, that has buttons - or a mouse. A left click simulates a tap. The PlayBook already has mini-HDMI out, so it could be plugged into a monitor. If RIM made a dock that allowed for a network connection, video out to a monitor, power in, and a mouse and keyboard, and a USB port, I'd rather have a PlayBook than a laptop.

Another app: a retail solution where a business could hand a PlayBook to customers upon arrival to their business. The clients could scan tags on items and have access to all details of the product. I'm initially thinking high-end, i.e. BMW, Porche, etc. You could then do a video call to a sales agent to ask questions, or have one pages to where you are.

forget about which apps we would like to see there are so many to pick from the list would be endless. lets beat apple at its own game and make everything compatible with the bb playbook. now thats what i want to see. im a huge bb fan and dont like apple so lets make the playbook the best tablet out there

Gkins3

Sweet! I like the contests with some effort! Make us work for our prizes...

1) Bing Maps
2) Google Earth
3) Star Walk (or other constellation/star map app)
4) Adobe Photoshop (or lesser editing software)
5) Microsoft Office Suite
6) Blackberry Messenger
7) Blackberry Travel
8) Blackberry Traffic
9) Blackberry Radio
10) Google Sketch
11) Adobe Acrobat (not reader)
12) Flixster
13) Angry Birds
14) MLB at Bat
15) Kindle
16) Blackstar Navigation
17) Slingbox
18) Captaris desktop fax software (or similar)
19) any professional/corporate schedulling software
20) Skype doesnt do it for me, but I think it would be a big hit.

That wasnt that easy! Good luck all.

12. Microsoft Office
13. Comparison shopping app to scan barcode on item and check prices at other stores.
14. Phone app that slaves the BB phone controls to the Playbook.
15. Phone app that allows standalone calls via wifi, hopefully using your own BB number even if they're not bridged.
16. File sharing app so I can use the expandable memory on the BB to store extra movies to watch on the playbook since the playbook isn't expandable (stupid move on RIM's part)
17. Ballistic computer app for long range shooting calculations
18. Games from the old Nintendo systems, like super mario bros.
19. first person shooter games with an innovative control method such as using the touch sensors on the side of the screen.
20. Augmented reality apps for tourists so you can look down a street through the camera and get an idea what businesses and attractions might be there to see without having to walk down the whole street yourself.

Ok, that's 20, I don't own the playbook yet, so some of them might already exist. I hope you eliminate all the people who didn't make the effort to get to 20 lol. Thanks for the giveaway.

That's all I can think of now, I KNOW I could think of a lot more but I've used up my time. Took the whole contest time thinking so I could come up with some decent apps.

If I said any that are already on the Playbook I'm sorry. I have yet to own one (Hence why I am crossing my fingers on this contest). I would LOVE to get my hands on one so that I can learn more about it and have my little girls who are dying to get their hands on it! (17mo old nerds in training).

Best of luck EVERYONE!!! And Congrats to the winner!

I would like to see a system wide utility that would
paint whatever I see on my BB (eg. S2) onto a PB when
the two are bridged. Hence, for example, if I am running
Garmin on my S2, it would show on my PB, with a somewhat
lower resolution, but LARGER nonetheless. Without this
app, I will never buy a PB. Doctor Neutron

Jan_the_Bicycle_Man

These are my choices:

01: BlackBerry Messenger independent from BBM on my phone.

02: Skype with all Skype features.

03: MagicJack App to make the magic jack work with the PlayBook.

04: Quicken persona finance manager. To keep track of all my banking.

05: PingChat for PlayBook. I find this to be the most useful cross platform IM.

06: Olive Tree Bible Reader. I have over 100 of their books on my BlackBerry. I would like to see what they would do with the PlayBook.

07: Ham Radio Deluxe with the drivers to run with the US Interface Navigator to control my ICOM IC-7000 HF radio. That would be like hoping for a lot more than what I dare to dream for. It would blend the PlayBook with emergency services communications.

08: TuneIn Radio Pro for the PlayBook.

09: Garmin Mobile - I would like to see this improved and expanded on. It could become the ultimate navigation device if it can work with existing maps and charts.

10: Car Maintenance app that could track every expense associated with owning a car. An app that could photograph receipts and protect my warranty.

11: SmartWiFi to slow down battery drain.

12: Smart Photo Frame Viewer for when I dock my PlayBook for charging. It must also include an alarm clock feature and a link to BBM.

13: BusinessVision sales book add on that could update with the main program while in the field. This must be able to print invoices and work orders through a WiFi enabled printer.

14: Google Talk for BlackBerry PlayBook.

15: Integration for Microsoft Office and Outlook Express.
