* LAST DAY TO ENTER: Ok, the truth is I love this blog post image so any excuse to run it again is fine with me, but we are down to the FINAL HOURS of this contest... so get in for your chance to win 1 of 2 BlackBerry PlayBooks. If you haven't dropped and given us your list of apps you'd like to see come to the BlackBerry PlayBook, stop what you're doing and do this now!! *

OK, so you don't actually have to drop and give us 20 pushups, but you will have to stop what you're doing, give it some thought, and let us know with a comment to this blog post the top apps/games/services/etc. you'd like to see come to the BlackBerry PlayBook. The time it takes will be worth the effort, as we'll be picking two lucky winners from among those who drop and give us their must-have app list to win a FREE BlackBerry PlayBook. For this contest we're not talking the small stuff here, but the big hitting apps and services and names you know and use that are out there on other platforms but not yet on the PlayBook. For example, Angry Birds, Skype, Kindle, etc...

  • Prizes: Two brand new BlackBerry PlayBooks are up for grabs for two lucky winners.
  • How To Enter: Leave a comment to this blog post listing the apps/services/games you want to see come to the BlackBerry PlayBook in YOUR order of priority. If you can come up with 20, that's awesome. If it's less, that's ok too. Just spill your guts on what apps you REALLY want to be able to install on your PlayBook asap!
  • Contest Details: Contest open worldwide. Deadline is midnight ET on June 30th, 2011.  Please just leave one comment to this post. We'll announce the winners on July 1st, 2011.
For some more insight on where PlayBook apps are at, be sure to check out our PlayBook Apps Initiative thread in the forums. That's it. Now drop what you're doing, and give us 20!!!  Best of luck!

The Playbook urgently needs two native apps to distinguish itself from its competitors: BBM and a BlackBerry email client. Despite Bridge apparently working well, it won't be able to hit out into the mass market and gain a true BlackBerry reputation until it has these apps running efficiently and stylishly, especially with iOS 5 and iMessage coming soon. Game on, RIM.

Gosh, there are so many apps missing from the PlayBook, but let's also not forget that RIM has not let us down, but rathe is still racing to live up to all the hype and potential that only die-hard crackberry addicts both expect and deserve. As a college student, I want to buy a tablet that has all the functionality of a laptop with Flash, full web browsing, Documents to go, Excel to go, et cetera, but I also want a bit of fun so I can show off what BB has compared to the other fruit and green monster.

We, the perpetual professionals of life who demand class need:

Skype
Kindle
Facebook (a better one, so I've read) with chat
Twitter
GPS
Google maps
NetFlix
Bluetooth pairing
Printing capabilities
BB news feeds
Time (a tweaked version)
CNN (which needs to be improved, as well)
Language Translation
Powerpoint
A better calendar/alarm/memo sync app
Occupation specific apps (Real Estate, for example)
Face chat (or to use the front facing as a webcam)
Live TV
More 3D games
More news apps
More magazine and ''newspaper'' apps (WSJ, Economist, et cetera)
Photo editing apps
wifi hotspot or tethering app/option
Fitness apps (gym technik)
Trivia game apps
Memory game apps
Access to everything in the App World app

I love BB and have been a user since 2002 when my first device was a track wheel on the right side of the phone as opposed to a track ball. I'm looking forward to the 9900 and better specs or perhaps upgrade my Torch to a Torch 2 as I will always be a BB user for as long as BB is useable. BTW, I wish Crackberry would have more articles. I check daily via mobile website and BB news feeds (which quickly became my favorite app) and I honestly crave more BB. I've not given up on BB (and somehow feel like a member of my family has been facing a tough time when I read and hear about RIM earnings, stocks, et cetera) and think that RIM is about to be revolutionized with QNX and break through big (if marketing is there and the product exceeds (not meets) expectations and competition....time to invest and show our belief in a product we have believed in for so long.

I'm crossing fingers and hoping to swipe them soon on a PlayBook!

j.yeager

1. Google Chrome, 2. Transmission or another torrent client, 3. VLC media player, 4. BlackBerry Bridge support for SMS/MMS, 5. Pidgin IM, 6. Netflix, 7. Native Email, 8. Native BBM, 9. OpenOffice, 10. GIMP, 11. Rosetta Stone, 12. Kindle

It would be nice if the PlayBook and future BlackBerries supported a touch to share functionality like the Pre3 / Touchpad or maybe share a website via BlackBerry Bridge.

I don't know much about technology (I'm 70) but I bet I can do a lot more on this than my blackberry phone and it looks neat so I hope I win. Old horses can learn new tricks, right? Plus all the applications will be new to me.

WELL......I know that BlackBerry has always been geared toward the "business" minded. BUT it is no longer only the business suits that love BlackBerry! I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see more apps that are for the young people in our lives! I think that my 5 year old twins would benefit from educational apps as well. When I do purchase a BlackBerry it's something I'm sure my whole family will want in on :-) Sooooo.................EDUCATIONAL APPS HAVE MY VOTE! Hope that I HAVE YOUR VOTE! Please, my family needs...not just wants...but needs a BlackBerry PlayBook!

Some of these are generic and I must admit I don't know if some of them already exist but these are the apps I would like to see available before I would look at purchasing this unit. It has to be at least as functional (other than being a phone) as my Blackberry or I don't see a great deal of use for it.
