Interesting results. I'm actually really surprised about a lot of them.

I'm really not too surprised. Most of the answers were answers I chose. Everything that came out on top really deserved it.

The Bold 9700 is by far the best BlackBerry of 2009. Hands down! :)

I thought the Storm or maybe the Tour would have won, since there seem to be a lot more users of both Tour and Storm on this site.

That just goes to show you how great the 9700 was able to rise up to in its short time since release. Its only been out for 2 months versus the 6+ months and 1 year the Tour and Storm have had, respectively. The 9700 is a monster, and the fans chose it as the 2009 champion in the end.

In a straight comparison it is hard to say that the 9630 is better than the 9700. I think it is very clear what the best Qwerty BlackBerry is...

Special thanks to those who helped QuickLaunch win the title of Best Productivity App of 2009! Extra special thanks to all the beta testers!

Hope 2010 is great for Everyone.

I think this list is pretty spot on, although the Storm's SurePress technology should have won best innovation. Anyway, Happy New Year!!!

Storm 2 should have one best blackberry.

While I was surprized at some of these results also, I guess a case was made for each winner and they desrve the kudos. I hope all of the participants, the loyal Crackberry community, and the CrackBerry staff have a Happy New Year.

However, I just can not grasp the Pandora love. People must not be into sound like I am. ;)

On that note, its been an update or two since Pandora has been given a shake down on the home stereo. Off to do a little comparo.

Gut says Slacker will shake the house with full rich bass, while Pandora still lacks bottom. Will edit this with my findings.

FWIW Pandora feeds you music really well. It does get mundane IMO as it tries to narrow to much genre, leaving you with a limited type of music feed. No doubt if you like one type this will work well for you.

Thanks Dr. Boost - make sure you go into the Pandora options and set the audio quality to "High" for the best audio quality.

I'm not surprised that QuickLaunch won its category. It is one of my favorite apps; a "must have." My BB wouldn't be the same without it. Congratulations!

Posted by ChuckH0308 Friday, Jan 01, 2010 873 days ago

Agreed, it completely transforms the phone. It's the first app anyone should purchase and it does so many things that it could practically be the only app you need.

its a sad state of affairs when Facebook application for BB is the best of anything. i quit using it long ago, and just keep my browser minimized (opera 4) and use it instead.

and maybe some people have a different BB browser.. but its just shy of a complete pos.. followed by opera 5, then bolt.. i'll have to revisit opera 5, the last thread i saw on it, wasnt too promising.

happy new year all!

cheers

Not quite sure how IS beat out BSE, I have skinned about five devices from each company and can honestly say that BSE is just as good, and way, way less money.

Oh well! Happy New Year to all.

MeterBerry definitely should have won. QuickPull is such a piece of crap and has given so many people problems. And their support is horrible. I switched over to MeterBerry and never looked back. It does everything QuickPull Pro does!

Although I had to vote for my own app, I am a QuickLaunch user.

Motorola S9 ??? The S9-HD that cuts out it your phone is more than 2.5 feet away?

LOL

I have to admit I voted for the S9, but I had to think about it for awhile because of the reason you mentioned. There's no doubt there is a design flaw with having a weak antenna in the back of the headset, BUT in every other respect the S9's rock. I have the regular S9's and the sound is AMAZING, they are extremely lightweight, and they are comfortable. Yeah I have to wear the phone on my arm for them to stay connected outside, but they sure make running a lot more enjoyable! I also had the Samsung SBH-600's, but they weren't good for what I needed. They did have far superior reception though.

I have to agree with ADay8945, Meterberry is my choice as QuickPull only did one thing and it didn't do it that well. I too switched to Meterberry for my nightly reset and have had no problems at all. QP just couldn't get past being in Bedside mode for some reason and MB had no problems. Plus it watches my memory and battery and looks cool on the Home screen. :-)

Everybody else, I pretty much agree with (some I don't use) and I do wish everyone a Happy New Year and Yeah to the CB folks for allowing us gnomes to post dumb drivel like this. :-)

Congrats - I was quite surprised by some results also. Otter Box.... I truly believe it was one of the ugliest cases around.... I was having lunch with my nephew and noticed some busy office along the street to the restaurant... Ottter Box? I didn't realize the headquarters is located in a few blocks away from my office until today LOL.

Sometimes function is more important than looks. I'm not at all surprised the Otter Box cases won. I do agree with you though, the Defender case is a bit unsightly, but it does offer the best protection available for those who need it. Personally I think the Otter Box Commuter is the way to go. I love mine...great protection without being too bulky. But if I needed it I would get the Defender...

Congrats to all the winners! I was a bit dissapointed that the Storm's SurePress technology did not win best innovation. Anyway, Happy new year to everyone at CrackBerry! All the best come 2010

A couple of unexpected shows but for the most part it all went as I thought.

Congrats to the winners, particularly in the app categories. You guys put in countless hours producing great products by and large. All the nominees should be congratulated.

I'd like to know how the crackberrians voted regarding a few of the categories, specifically the best new innovation and phone.

Can't argue with any of those choices though! Great stuff guys!

Glad to see PodTrapper get some love. Hands down my favorite app for the BB. Thank you, Marcus, for the dedication.

Happy New Decade!

For the last time, Quickpull does NOT "simulate a battery pull." It does a reboot, that's all. You can't simulate a complete hardware power removal through software!

Stop the propaganda Crackberry!

I was wondering how they decided what the options would be? There were some things missing that I think should have been there. For example, they had the Casemate Barely There case (IIRC), but not the Incipio Feather. Why did the Casemate make the list, but not the Incipio? Whatever though...I think most of the winners deserved it!
