Liquid Chrome Premium Theme Now Available For $3.99 With Updated Support For 5.0 Devices Posted in BlackBerry Themes on 20 Nov 2009 12:19 by Bla1ze | In my hunting for a new theme for my 9700 last night I came across Liquid Chrome. Liquid Chrome is one of the new theme builder 5.0 themes that are now starting to show up, practically on a hourly basis in the theme shop. While I'm not typically a fan of yellow, the transitions in Liquid chrome caught my eye enough to give it a shot and I have to say I don't mind yellow so much any more. The theme developer, Jake has taken the time to make sure all the transistions flow nicely throughout the theme and let's face it that wallpaper is just plain cool. Liquid chrome has a full hidden dock and hidden today sections to keep it looking clean, while keeping you up to date as well. Liquid Chrome is available for the Bold, Storm, Tour, Curve 8900 and 8520 as well as the Pearl Flip for only $3.99 until November 30th. Be sure to check it out - and if you are running a 5.0 device be sure to use the 5.0 version if you want to have the transitions work as noted.

Hot New GreenTech Premium Theme From Hedone Design! Posted in BlackBerry Themes on 19 Nov 2009 08:41 by Bla1ze | Since the release of the new Theme Builder 5.0 theme developers have been hard at working getting some new themes out the door. As always icons are nice and fresh, wallpaper is crystal clear and high res and transitions built into the theme are nice and smooth. If you are using 4.x operating system must select 4.x versions. For more recent (5.x) operating system it is better to take 5.x theme as it includes features that until now were not used. A Quick Look At BlackBerry Theme Builder 5.0 From The Experts! Posted in BlackBerry Themes on 13 Nov 2009 03:49 by Bla1ze |
With the launch of the new BlackBerry Theme Builder 5.0 and all its new options implemented, it should come as no surprise that Research In Motion is putting a lot of attention on its release. We have been hearing for months now that Theme Builder (formerly known as Plazmic Content Developers Kit) was being brought "in house" in an effort to get it up to par where users thought it should be. The 5.0 release has brought us that much closer and while it's still not perfect, I cannot really think of any software that is. Perfection in the software industry is a myth. But at least some of the major bugs have been addressed, such as the Storm theme bug. With the new efforts in regards to Theme Builder 5.0 now in full force the Inside BlackBerry Blogs have started up a series of posts to assist users with learning just how to use it to the full potential. While it's just the first of many I'm sure we will see, it's well worth a look as a lot of effort has been put into it. If you have any interest in making your own themes I highly suggest reading up on it - the Inside BlackBerry team did a great job on it.

DreamTheme Now Offering PrimeThemes and More for BlackBerry Smartphones! Posted in BlackBerry Themes on 05 Nov 2009 17:39 by Kevin Michaluk | DreamTheme entered the BlackBerry personalization scene at the end of last year with their truly unique LiveScreen offerings. They have now extended their offerings further into the personalization space with what they are calling "PrimeThemes", built using the Plazmic Toolkit so you get the interface and navigation you expect, along with the customized icons and high caliber aesthetic DreamTheme is known for. With their new "DreamTones" apps they have also entered the ringtone pack space with some cool sounds. The DreamTones app is a small app you install that gives you access to over 20 professionally recorded track segments you can then save as a ringtone. The 6 DreamTone products they have started off with cover a broad range of genres to span most tastes and they claim that more will be coming regularly. To complete their full Personalization offering they have also launched "StillScreens" -- an offering of themed wallpapers of outstanding quality. DreamTheme seems to be committed to a full service personalization model and have bundled all of these products, from all 4 of their product lines, into a personalization package called "Ultimate Dreaming" that will be available at a deep discount for a limited time at www.dreamtheme.com. We will be reviewing some of the individual products and collections in more detail in the next few weeks, but wanted to let everyone know that these guys are serious about being category captains in the personalization space. DreamTheme Contest: The folks at DreamTheme love their BlackBerrys too, so they're going to be giving all of our finalists and "shout out" winners in the I Love My BlackBerry contest a free Ultimate Dreaming package. As for everybody else reading this -- check out the site and leave a comment to this post letting us know exactly which PrimeTheme or DreamTones or StillScreens you'd like to have on your BlackBerry. 5 lucky winners will get their pick!

The last time we took a look at the Plazmic Content Developers Kit it was due to the fact RIM had removed the Plazmic.com homepage and placed it on the BlackBerry Developers page. It was later explained to us that this move was completed in order to get Plazmic in line with the rest of the BlackBerry developer tools as Plazmic was now going to more of an "in house" mission to get it top notch. This time, we're going to have a look at where Plazmic is hoped to be heading and a quick review of some of the issues theme developers are now faced with when making themes for BlackBerry devices.

Hedone Design Releases Desire Premium Theme In All Its Artistic Elegance Posted in BlackBerry Themes on 25 Oct 2009 13:54 by Bla1ze | Hedone Design is still partying hard as they celebrate their 1st birthday all the while cranking out new themes for us all as well. The latest piece of work to come from Hedone is Desire. Hedone was going for a good design on Desire all while keeping the theme highly functional. Desire is a perfect blance and I'd say Hedone met the goal he started out with on this one. Desire has a artistic, grungy feel to it and is jam packed with all of the functions would expect from a theme, but has them placed in a unique way. 6 customizable icons on the main screen, hidden clock, profiles, connections and options buttons help maintain basic functions. The wings in the artwork serve as signal and battery meters and the overall feel of this theme is artisic elegance. As part of Hedone Designs birtrhday celebration you can grab Desire for only $3.99 and it is currently available for 8900,9000,9500 and 9630 series devices.
