It has only been a short time since BBornot2B released Mecanic and they are already onto their next theme called Cosmic. The developer has been hard at work producing this theme even so far as going through a few revisions based on suggestions to make sure you get the best possible experience. It is amazing what he has been able to come up with in just a short time especially now that Theme Studio 7 is no longer an option.

Cosmic not only offers a redesigned homescreen and banner but an amazing transparent icon set that is just a marvel to look at. It definitely brightens up your screen and offers easy to read custom fonts in all of the menus, dialog boxes, and inboxes.

As you can see there are brand new battery and signal meters in the upper left and a dedicated weather slot in the upper right (app slot # 7). I especially love the custom notification icons (even down to the splat) and how striking the purple color scheme is.

Features

  • Full custom icon set
  • Custom unread icons
  • Weather slot on top banner and lockscreen
  • Custom battery and signal meters
  • OS7 available
  • Customized colors / fonts / dialogs / menus

Considering all of the detail that went into designing this theme you can find it for only $1.99 in BlackBerry App World. This is a unique theme that I find myself going back to whenever I can. It just grabs your attention from the moment you see it. Cosmic runs smoothly, is very eye-catching, and not only is all your icons and folders visible but there are additional skinned icons for Media, BlackBerry Bridge, Documents-to-Go, and other native BlackBerry applications as well. While it is wallpaper friendly I prefer to keep the default look.

Cosmic is currently compatible with BlackBerry 8520/30, 9300/30/50/60/70, 9650, 9700/80, 9800/50/60, and 9900/30/81 running OS 5 and higher.
