We're about to see an explosion of games happening on the BlackBerry PlayBook and while I'm sure Kevin is concerned over whether or not Brick Breaker is going to be ported over, some of us would like to see a more updated version of it make its way there. Enter, The Core which dubs itself as a cross between Brick Breaker and the throwback arcade game Asteroids. The game is set in space and the object is to use your spaceships to smash into the Core of the planet and destroy it. As you destroy the planets you get to advance through the levels. Jump on past the break for some more screenshots of The Core in action, expect it in BlackBerry App World soon.

Looks nice. Hope to see games with better graphics though.

Can't blame a developer for making a decent game to get their hands on a free playbook, right?????

Looks a lot like Vortex for the iPod Classic.

If those rings surrounding the core move in alternating directions, this is VERY similar to a game called Star Castles from the wayback days of video games (quarter fed consoles. one of my favorite games of all time. This is on my list...

My son is an animator just a few years out of university and he designed the game, we are working on several updates as we go along and get feedback from people so please test it out and look for freebies coming soon to crackberry.com from us on the game. We will have a free download with 1 level to try and in app purchase for more levels. Thanks for the comments.
