One quick Friday contest before everyone jets out for the long weekend. In the US we'll be celebrating Columbus day while the Canadians have Thanksgiving. They'll be celebrating what they are thankful for - family, friends, food and ... BlackBerrys. What better way to give thanks for your device than to treat it to some security with Smart Lock and Wipe. This application lets you remotely wipe your device should it be lost or stolen. You can activate the app from any mobile phone or by emails or SMS, and your device will be wiped of precious data like email, call logs and contact information. A little bit of extra security goes a long way. Smart Lock and Wipe sells in the CrackBerry App Store for $5.99, but we have 100 free copies to give away. Just leave a comment on this post, and to make it interesting, tell us why you are thankful for your BlackBerry. Contest ends this Sunday at Midnight PST. I would love to have this app! I'm also thankful for my BB because it keeps me organized. I'm never late for appointments, always seem to get tasks completed because of it. My Blackberry is my Swiss Army Knife!

I'm thankful for my BB b/c it really keeps me together. With one device i can figure out how to get across the city, see what emails i've missed, check the latest headlines and just have fun while on the rail or T. With this addition, i'll have the added security of knowing that if I lose my device, i won't lose precious info.

I'm thankful of my blackberry because mine stays in my pocket whereas my wife keeps losing hers. I have an understanding and a kinship with my BB and we work great together. I am thankful for my little companion.

I was super against blackberry's for years. In fact I even had an old curve as my work phone for 1 week and returned it to verizon.

Now that I decided to try one out as my personal phone I don't think I'll ever own another non-BB device. Everything is on this phone and then some.

I am thankful for BlackBerry because without it I would not know what day, date, time, or weather it was. I would not be able to meet people on time, find my way to them, or remember important details such as email, snail mail, birthday, spouse, kids, etc... My BlackBerry allows me to be busy and productive.

I love my BB because I have always had a hard time remembering dates, appointments, names, numbers, etc. My BB covers me for everything, it never lets me down. If I forget a password to a website, a phone number to the heating company, the name of salesperson that i need later, my BB is always there to help save the day. Throw in the fact that it helps me stay in contact with old friends via Facebook and other social networks, helps me browse the web, and hey, it also makes really good phone calls. I'm afraid I'm addicted... for life.

I am thankful for my blackberry cause it does everything. It is the one place that everthing is stored. The only way it could be better was...... well i wont get explicit. But basically it does everything while keeping me connected.

I'm thankful for my Blackberry because it has kept me in touch with otherwise hard to reach Family and friends and on top of life in general for the last couple years. At this point I realy don't know what I would do with out it. It's actually a really huge part of keeping in touch with my Father and I couldn't be more thankiful for that.

Well, I, like most, are thankful because without my BlackBerry I'd be completely lost. I keep everything on it and if I was to lose it, someone would be able to get a great deal of my information. I have everything from appointments to anniversaries, work schedule, vacations, 6 email accounts and many other things going on with my Tour. I've given both my old BlackBerries to my fiance, of which BOTH of them have been lost with her information on it and we had to do some credit-cleanup because someone figured out her easy password.

This application would have been a godsend!

My BB is not just a phone, not just place to keep contact info and a to-do list, not just a way to connect to the world via the internet, not just entertainment but an indispensable tool that keeps my in touch, organized, prepared and happy! My wife and I just got our BlackBerries last week and WOW! We are addicted already. I am on Crackberry.com at least 5 times per day and I can't put my phone down. My wife and I have been sitting in the same room and using messenger! We are thankful that we are finally able to work and play (thanks to BB) on the go!

I have been so thankful for my berry for the added communication for both work and personal. Since having my berry I have been able to keep in closer contact with family members that are communicating via email. Some have not fully embraced the use of cell phone(they are on the elderly side and have a hard time seeing the keys to dial let alone send text) For my business it has allowed me to almost double sales as I am in constant contact no matter how my customers choose to reach out to me. They truly have appreciated the ability to reach me at anytime. Smart Lock will be the added security I need should the unfortunate happy and I loose my life line to everyone I know.

I'm thankful for my BlackBerry because it connects me with EVERYTHING in my world. My emails, contacts, Facebook, SMS, .. everything is in it. This is my first BlackBerry and by all means I will NEVER go back to a typical phone. This phone is definately in a class of it's own and nothing else can compare, i'm thankful that when I am playing with my BlackBerry everyone looks at me in a weird way. I also love the way I can customize it down to the last T when it comes to software.

So this year I am VERY greatful for my BlackBerry.

I'm thankful for my Blackberry because I don't know where I'd be without it. It gets me through school, work, basically my whole day. I really don't see how I could survive without it. I know I would go through some type of withdrawal. I realized when I got my berry that it really is an addiction. Sometimes I feel the urge to go up to random people and have conversations about their berry and ask for their pin. This app would definitely help me to treat my berry better so I really hope I win.

I am thankful for my blackberry because it provides me with instant access to my FB when I am at work and cannot access it or anywhere else... I also love that I can play games to cure boredom while waiting for movies to start.... waiting in the doctors office, etc.... It is my entertainment most days. Plus if I didn't have my Blackberry I would have never found crackberry.com and have my day filled with reading posts about the great things this little machine can do!

My BB enaables me to talk with people without having to actually "talk" to them... So very thankful for that... Also this app is nice but we need one that would automatically wipe & brick a phone... If someone steals my phone..

As for thankful well the list wouldn't end.
I survived (so far) a medical condition, a nice toy to play with while in the hospital for almost a month.
The toy was a new Storm, and I'll be on line for version 2.

This is something I could really use,
and although I would gladly pay for it
I would love the feeling of Winning it..
I use my BlackBerry for EVERYTHING.
I was not new to the PDA thing,
having been a Palm supporter since the first
Handpring Treo.
But my Blackberry is so much more reliable.
And reliability, functionality, is what I need in
a PDA/Phone combo.
I love it, and believe this software would make it alot

I have a Blackberry Storm from VZW. This is my first Blackberry and I couldn't believe what I had been missing for the past 5 years. This is my first smart phone and I can tell you that I can't live without it. I'm on it about 10 hrs of the day trying to find something to add or change on it (Apps, games, or themes). This is what every BB owner needs. Kudos to its developers. I am a new BB owner of the tour and this should be pre-installed on every BB that RIM makes. RIM is a business platform and I would hate to compromise my clients information that I have stored on here. This application is a no brainer. Thumbs up and keep up the good work.

Here is intersting:

My previous blackberry I left ON THE TOP OF MY CAR when I drove off. I work in a hilly part of Austin (360) so I think it flew into the ravine. I searched numerous times and have given plenty of blood and and ripped clothes back to nature while searching.

Never did find it. :(

I'm still thankful because the GPS is SOOO useful especially when the wife has no sense of direction. I don't have to worry about her reading a map anymore!

First, thanks for the opportunity to have a chance to win a copy of "Smart Lock and Wipe".
One reason I am thankful for my BB is more face time with my wife. I have cut back considerably sitting in front of my PC chacking email, going on the web, playing games, etc. Now, I can be with my wife, catch the incoming emails briefly, etc., and still be "with my wife".

I love my CrackBerry because it lets me do almost anything I want at anytime. Someone needs to figure out how to get World of Warcraft to run on it though......or Ventrilo.......

If it weren't for my blackberry, I would be seriously lost. It keeps me organized as far as letting me know when I work, different promos going on at work, what time to pick up my kids after work. I am so reliant on my blackberry that being away from it causes panic. I am an addict but I can admit it. So I want to say THANK YOU to my blackberry for keeping me complete and organized.... now if it can find me a guy... it would be perfect!

to be honest i never really liked BB but then i played around with a curve and fell in love with the BB. after a few months of customzing and exploring the bb i left it for a iphone...let me tell you that i had to run back to a bb because it is the best phone out there. i feel complete with my bb. i am now using a bold with tmobile and can wait for the new storm.

hmm where do i begin, my first BB has made me that much organized and put that much data at the tip of my finger. at the same time i am able to keep in touch with people wherever i am with various means, like the great BBM. So yeah im thankful for my BB as well as any other smartphone out there.

I am extremely thankful for my BlackBerry. I am in college and if it were not for my BlackBerry, I would not be able to stay on top of my online classes because I also have a full time job. If it were not for the incredible capabilities of my BlackBerry, I could never pass all my classes.

My Blackberry Storm is for personal use only. I tried other touch screen phones but none had all the features that allow me to stay connected with friends and family. I especially like the
camera and large screen which allows me to show photos I've taken.

First off my BB is my life. I'm on it all day and night. Just ask my wife... My BB is competing with her snuggle time at bet time... She goes to bed earlier than I do because I'm on my Berry. Now for Smart Lock & Wipe, just the other day I thought I had lost my BB. The first thought that came to mind was, "Isn't there an application that could wipe my BB form remote?" Well fortunately I found my Berry and all was good, but for that time when she was nowhere to be found I was in a panic. Hats off to Magilab for making a remote wipe possible. Thanks CB and Maglab!

PS... Knocking the socks (boots or whatever you may be wearing at the time) always makes up for a little missed snuggle time.

As far as being thankful for our blackberrys, I think we are all on the same page. What device has revolutionized the way we communicate and do business as much as our BlackBerrys? Having tried so many different devices on so many different OSs, I can honestly say nothing compares to my BB. I have been using the Storm since the day it showed up in stores, and I have been hooked ever since. Even with the "oh so bad" .65 and even .75 OS it still made life just that much easier. And surly, we could never go back to anything less (even a MyPod... Sorry, Iphone) ;)
