One of the most exciting aspects of being the owner of a BlackBerry Torch is the operating system, BlackBerry 6. While not an entirely new concept for RIM, the new OS gives your BlackBerry screen a nice built-in facelift. Many people like to customize their device with new themes, but until this week when BlackBerry Theme Studio v6.0 beta became available, Torch users were out of luck. There are also people that really love the native look of their BlackBerry and don't use themes at all. Whichever type of user you are, BBThemes has now given you a way to customize your Torch with splashes of subtle color, without losing the look and feel of the OS.

Introducing Simplified. Traditional BB6 UI shines through in 5 different color variations. Red, Purple, Pink, Green and MonoChrome are each available in the CrackBerry store for just $0.99 each! Grab one, or grab them all. For such a low price you can't go wrong. BBThemes posted a giveaway in the forums when they released the theme, so you may still be able to grab a free copy there.

I got the Green and Red the same way as well, but stopped there. All these themes do is change the color of the blue highlighting on icons, the menu, the All/Favorites/Frequent bar, etc. to whatever color theme you've downloaded. That's it. I've gone back to the stock blue because that looks the best.

I have purchased the Torch again to give it another chance as my daily driver to replace my Bold 9700. The verdict is still out but the Themes should bring a smile to me everytime I work on my Torch.
