BerryWeather 2.1 Public Beta Now Available

The folks at Bellshare let me know their insanely popular weather application BerryWeather has been updated to version 2.1.40 and is now out of public beta and officially available. A lot of key differences came with the 2.1 version as it's a re-write of the original code which will perform better across all BlackBerry devices, while taking nothing from the BerryWeather that so many have come to love. As a thank yout to everybody at CrackBerry who helped Bellshare with the beta testing of the latest version, they have offered us up 50 free copies to give away to our readers.

Win a Free Copy of BerryWeather: Drop a comment on this post for your chance to win one of 50 full versions of BerryWeather. Let us know what your favorite season is or what you hate about your least favorite season. For me, it's winter. Hockey and curling and snowmobiling aside, Canadian winters are never fun as it often times gets cold enough to freeze your face off. I'd much rather be at the beach :)

Hi! I could totally use this! I live on the Gulf coast of FL! The weather is so unpredictable, & crazy at times here! My favorite season is fall. I love the low humidity, the time change (fall back), & the holidays! I also love the smells of fall: carmel apples, spices, pumpkin pie, etc. Thanks! :)

Spring is the best season hands down. not too cool and not too warm. it has perfect weather. Spring represents good times and freshness.

Being the weather wonk that I am I would really enjoy having this app on my BB. I live in the Phoenix area and the hotter the better. I used to be a spotter for the NWS and this app would really help my weather addiction. I do have a wireless weather station at my home location and this would compliment all the other sources I use to track weather at any given moment of the day.

My favorite season is winter. The snow is great (for the first day), but it does get too cold sometimes.

Im from Pakistan and weather here is too hot and dry ... I love winters and love to play in snowfall :-)

I live in Los angeles, california. My favorite season will have to be Winter. I love the cold weather, it calls for more cuddling and alot of bedtime ;). My least favorite season will have to be summer. I hate it cuz i work outdoors and it burns me pretty bad. Atleast in cold weather put on a jacket and a beanie and your ready to go. But summer time i cant walk around naked. At nights it makes it difficult to sleep. And yes i dont have an AC. So u know how that goes. Please choose me i want a free copy of berryweather!

I am a very new user to BB, i have a 9700, i am currently using Beweather but will check out Berryweather and see how they compare.

Love this site.

Regards to all.

It's it pits of winter now -- I need this app to know if it's safe to go outside! Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...

My least favorite season is Autumn. Everything grows old and dies, and the sky turns grey, and my soul diminishes.

Awesome! Commute 200 miles weekly. Handy keeping up with 2 areas of weather. Gotta love the spring after a hard winter and being isolated.

especially since i bought the older version recently and dont want to have to pay for an upgrade I kinda feel entitled too.

My Favorite Season is the fall time because I like camping and love the warm days and cool nights sitting around a campfire talking and enjoying the night sky.

I would say that football season is my favorite, but If i had to pick a more "real" season I would go with Summer. BBQ's and swimming. Thats the best. Also, I would love a copy of the new and improved BerryWeather.

I'm a truck driver who loves his storm 9530. i use the weather app a lot to check out weather conditions throughout the nation as i travel. this would be a real helpful and useful tool during my travels. i hate winter and love all good driving weather. this tool will help me find the best routes to go.

Would love to have this. Spring is my favorite season. Love seeing flowers blooming, grass turning green. Everything looks so alive. I live in Georgia where there is four different seasons.

I love spring time in eastern PA, it's warm, breezy, and there's all kinds of animals running around and flowers blooming. Plus, I was born in the spring!

I would love a free update I currently run a older version and just don't want to pay the upgrade but it's a AWSOME product well worth the price Once Maybe Twice....

My favorite season is summer. Unfortunately, when you live in MI, the weather is so unpredictable that you never know what season you are going to get. However, I still love summer because I love being out in the sun. All the flowers have bloomed and the weather is warm enough to enjoy the outdoors and BBQ. I love being able to go swimming or out on a boat and not freeze my butt off. I also love how the sun doesn't set until almost 9pm. Warm summer nights are the best, just as long as they aren't too humid.

On the opposite side of the spectrum, I hate winter. It's freezing cold. Aside from being able to ski and having the landscape look beautiful after freshly fallen snow, it is terrible. I hate having to wear layers upon layers in my house because my parents barely turn the heat on. As I'm typing, my hands are partially frozen. Above all though, I hate when it snows and people drive like they've never driven a day in their whole life.

We have had more than 3 times the normal snowfall this winter in Iowa! This program would be great to have, since our weather people around here don't seem to know their head from their a*#! Sorry!

I already have the full version, but since I turned a close friend on to the free version she loves it. It would be nice to be able to get her the full version.

This would be great on my Berry! My favorite season is Summer... Bikini's, Beers, Boating and fishing! What's not to love?! ;)

I chose a different weather product several months ago because it was cheaper and I figured I could get the radar pictures from the internet. I was wrong. I just tried Berryweather and it's much better. The other product didn't always update when it was supposed to, it had to retrieve data every time I opened the program (vs keeping itself updated), had inferior graphics, and didn't have a radar picture. Berryweather is better and I'm wanting a copy!

I use to like winter but all the snow we have got and the older I get I am looking forward to some warm weather of spring

Hahahaha just kidding!! I love it! :D I would love to have a free copy. Favorite season is winter. Nothing like staying in bed under warm covers in the middle of winter :]

i would love to have this on my storm. i need a weather geek helper. i love knowing the temps and conditions i even have a remote thermo next to my bed.! LOL
