Contest: BlackBerry Storm 2 Coming in June?

I love my Storm. But yearning for the "Odin"/"Storm 2". They could call it the "Dingleberry" and I'd get it. I'd rather get it for free though.

I may not be eligible for an upgrade till september but it wouldn't hurt to have this new phone now!!! I wasn't to thrilled with storm 1, but I know storm 2 will be very carefully upgraded when it comes out.

I bought an 8310 in january, but I smartly jumped into the pool with it a few months ago. Now I am stuck with a samsung crappy phone. And since I am on ATT I cant switch for another 2 years. So, I am waiting for the 8900 to come out and use my dads upgrade (if he will let me). But a free Storm 2?? I think that might be a better deal.

...bucket of comments!! I have the Verizon 9530...and unlike for most here it seems...has been great! It just takes a little time to tweek and get the right apps, and adjustments to your liking. Most people that "bi..h" about it usually are the ones not taking the time to do so.

We wont see this phone til end of summer in my opinion, my Best friend is an invenvory manager at VZW and he said don't expect to see anything until after 7/4 at the earliest, but as mentioned in the article it is VZW here so maybe it'll be ubder the tree for xmas, lol!

the blackberry storm needs a better processor as the one i had was annoyingly slow at times especially openin applications and a pain to use while doing something else.
why do the idiots at vodafone have to lock the fones onto their network with the crap branded software
i have now got the 8900 and i love it but im waiting for the 'storm 2' to come out and hopefully it wont be tied down to vodafone, whose network coverage is good too the point of the network being too busy half the time to make and recieve calls

wouldnt it be a nice idea if t mobile sold the blackberry storm 2?

on a more positive note, putting a 16gb micro sd card in a blackberry storm turns it into a great media player and the brilliant screen is great for watching movies on. i think that this is one of its strong points over the iphone

Well if this is indeed true that they are releasing a Storm 2 in less than a year since the first generation I think we were taken advantage of. I am sure that the new device will probably correct a lot of the issues we deal with on a daily basis. Such as slow response, accelerometer failure, lockups, etc.

If it is released in June I would love one and then I can throw out the old one. Can't wait to see if there are improvements.

I like my Storm, and I hope the Storm 2 will be that much better. All I can say is I want!

IMHO June is very sporty. If it is released in June my guess would be towards the end. The Tour has been scouped and talked' about now for months and I would think they would release that before the Storm 2. Storm 1 is "said" to still be selling well. For instance Verizon is still selling the 8830 and we know how long that has been in inventory. They would introduce a replacement for the 8830 (Tour) before replacing a Storm 1, still selling "well."

I want a free storm 2 just like the next person, but knowing Verizon as many of us do I put the better money on August or "later".

I'm gettin tired of my Verizon Storm 1, I want that #2 !!!

I have a Storm 1. Biggest piece of dog poo I've ever bought. Wish I had a Bold or an iPhone even.

I've read about people in the US with problems and stories of how they simply go in and get a new one - replaced on the spot - or simply swap it out for a better device (like the Bold)... unfortunately in back arse of the world, things don't work that way.

We don't get free swaps, or new devices (that work!)... we have to send it off to get it repaired - that's our only choice.

Four weeks later... you're still left with a device that doesn't work!

Perhaps the "Storm 2" might be better?!?!?

...I would click my heels 3 times and wish a Storm 2 in my hands right now. I so want to luv my Storm 1 but the various issues I am having make it "almost" impossible. I can't believe there is a Storm 2 coming out 7 months after the Storm, especially with all the problems with it. Seems to me they need to fix the Storm before releasing a Storm 2. Or at least give us the option to upgrade to the newer version.

I would absolute love this phone. I can't wait for it to launch and see how they have changed the touchscreen. I know a lot of people complained about the original click screen but I thought that it actually made if feel somewhat like a real keyboard.

I just upgraded my storm to the .141 with 5.0 hybrid, and I loaded a cool android theme on it, the phone has been running great since the upgrade and wouldn't trade it in for anything aside from a storm 2 hah! so sign me up for that

I actually think there's a chance it will launch in June. I originally wanted the Storm, but once it came out and I had a chance to try it, I was disappointed. The newer one looks like RIM may have been spending their time working on the fixes in the sequel, rather than for the original. Unfortunately, I couldn't wait on a new every 2, as my old VX8300 was on it's last legs. And I can't afford to pay full retail for any decent smartphone (what with the family demanding food and shelter and such - Bastards!) ;-)

As a tech geek, I always like to see the newest thing released. But as a consumer who bought a Storm about a month ago, I'd be unhappy if they released a new one so soon... But as an educated consumer and a tech geek, I knew what I was getting into when I shelled out the money.

I would take a free storm but I can tell you this...if we don't see an update that's worth beans there is no way in hell that I would buy the storm 2. We better get a free upgrade to the storm2 or at a very good discount. My storm is pretty good but it's really buggy. I would go back to my iphone in a heartbeat if I could get ATT service. If 2 is coming out this soon it looks like storm 1 owners are screwed. Rim and verizon have really rubbed me wrong.

I'm not sure if I want the Storm 2 but it will probably be better than the Storm that I have right now. My biggest problem is I will randomly lost 3G signal but if I reset the radio 3G signal will be there again.

I hope Verizon gets their act together and tests the new Storm before they release it. I went through 4 of them until I finally got fed up with it and sold it. I had one as well as all my buddies and we traded phones and went back to the trusty old Curve.

Hmm, a Blackberry Storm 2, I'll believe it when I see it, especially if it comes out in June. Considering the Storm 1 was supposed to have come out around this time last year.

I think you're right that you won't be giving many away. It sounds like a minor hardware upgrade to work out some of the kinks. But nevertheless, I'd love the upgrade!

Was not a big fan of the first Storm that came out so I hope this new one is much better. I was soo close to buying the first version too.. good thing I didnt. One of my friends bought one and ended up replacing it 4 times with Verizon.
