BlackBerry 101: Archiving apps in BlackBerry App World

[ youtube video link for mobile viewing ] On a BlackBerry, everything runs in application memory; it's like the RAM (memory) in your home computer. As with any memory, there is a limit to just how much can fit, I have a few apps that I don't use all that often, but come in quite handy when needed. FaceBook for BlackBerry would be one example. Since I use SocialScope, I don't really need...

Brain Cube by Ximad - A challenging game for your BlackBerry

I'm always looking for games that are challenging, yet don't require tons of time and that I can play in idle moments. I was happy to discover Brain Cube by Ximad, as I used to play a similar game on my Bold 9000 a couple years ago, and it was a lot of fun. The concept is easy: roll your cube through the puzzle to the hole on the other side. There are different obstacles to overcome on each...

BlackBerry PlayBook gets shown off in portrait mode at SXSW

[ youtube video link for mobile viewing ] During a demo at SXSW, the BlackBerry PlayBook was finally shown off in detail using portrait mode. We have seen PlayBook in portrait before, but not to this extent. The transition between landscape and portrait looks to be quite fast, and smooth as silk. It's great to see RIM's latest build for PlayBook so polished, especially so close to the...

We've just recieved some more details about a Staples release date. Basically confirming the April 17 date range from our previous post as it shows the sign that will be in stores for the BlackBerry PlayBook. Doing the math here March 15 and then 33 days later puts us in that April 17/18 timeframe quite nicely. No pricing details but since we've seen some of those in the past already so we're...

First time we've heard of this but it looks as though Sears will also be selling the BlackBerry PlayBook in Canada. Even weirder is the fact they are now emailing affiliates with information about pre-orders and ship dates. According to Sears they'll be starting up pre-orders tomorrow and BlackBerry PlayBooks will start shipping as of April 10. So, that's two dates floating around now. Note...

Staples BlackBerry PlayBook official release date 4/17?!

The above just popped up in the CrackBerry forums for all to see and as you can tell it looks to be what the demo display for the BlackBerry PlayBook will look like in stores. While the information clearly says *ad date 4.17* that could mean when the signage is supposed to go up-- and presumably, PlayBooks will be allowed to be sold at that point. No sense in putting signage up if you have...

Take a look at BlackBerry Mobile HotSpot and tethering for OS 6.1

After that, not much more information leaked out. Today though, some newer slides detailing the process and what it will all look like have appeared online. Personally, I'm glad to see RIM rolling this feature...
