It's that time of year again. The time where the mobile industry looks towards Apple to see what they've been up for the past little while behind closed doors. WWDC kicks off today in San Francisco and for weeks now; there has been speculation as to what has been up to. Rumors covering everything from a new streaming music service to a new desktop OS and finally, a major overhaul to iOS that will bring a new, flatter, more minimalist UI have been plentiful.

If you're looking to follow along and get a look at what Apple is bringing to the table, be sure to head on over to our sister site iMore for live keynote coverage, including analysis and commentary on the announcements as they happen. The action kicks off at 10 a.m. PDT -- that's 1 p.m. EDT, 5 p.m. GMT, 6 p.m. BST or 7 p.m. CEST. Apple will also be streaming video of the event to Mac computers, iOS devices and Apple TVs.

Any expectations you have for Apple? Will you be tuning in to see if they finally got around to changing iOS? Let us know in the comments or head on over to iMore for all the latest news and updates from WWDC.

Although I am using my Z10 right now,I can't deny that Apple products are the most reliable.Every OSes will look the same on every updates at the end of the day.We need more quality apps,Blackberry. Then only you can really put on a challenge against iOS and android.

Oops hit Post to quickly.

I don't thing nor hope Apple will fail.
But I personally don't expect such major changes. Apple need to bring up revision of their OS because the present OS is becoming aged, ...but not to many changes as they may jeopardize their installed base.
So somehow they may be stuck with the simplistic approach they've offer over the past years, which today users look getting tired off.

Does the apple square within many other squares of different colours look like the new BlackBerry blue wait circle (now square) to anyone else?

Posted via CB10

*Surprised*. People still after the apple products that are obsolete before they even hit the shelves.

Posted via CB10

I'm going to follow for the status of their MAC systems. I really hope they don't lock it down more and iOS it more, that's my only worry, but super stoked for any other changes and possibly a UI change. As long as that's still easy to use. And new gadget introductions.

Rub3n5

I'm curious to see if Apple comes out with some really innovative vs. just another boring iteration of iOS. They really need something new and fresh to keep pace with Android. Otherwise, it will be similar footsteps to what we saw with BlackBerry and there lack of attention to keeping up with the competition.

THBW

I think Apple reached its pinnacle with the 4s. It was the fusion of a strong iOS (enhanced over time with the biggest improvements coming with the iPhone 4) with great industrial design. However, the last 24 months has been disappointing. iOS is well past it's shelf life and from a hardware perspective Apple is wayyyyyyyy behind. The Samsung/Google tidal wave is starting to drown them. Apple can't keep flooding the market with cheap older models and expect this strategy to last forever.

Mobile Nations.

What iOS, Android, Windows, Tizen, webOS, Firefox, Jolla systems do and create all has an effect on BlackBerry 10, whether it be direct or indirect.

For CrackBerry addicts to truly understand BlackBerry and the directions they take and WHY they are taking them, looking at this podcast is nearly a must.

The best thing apple made is the mac book as I despise micro softs spyware, virus filled, security flawed OS.

Posted via CB10

Brutal Efficiency

Mostly has lots of security issues because is the sheer dominant OS. Most companies that use computers will use Windows. This in turn makes it more appealing for hackers to hack Windows that Mac. I personally don't know any companies in my area that use Mac, but I know a LOT use Windows. So say I am a hacker, which platform would be more worth my time to hack??

I'm keeping an eye open on the new iPhone stuff. As much as I love my Z10 in a fan of all tech, not a fan girl of one. And anyone who says it doesn't matter what Apple does while they fan boy about BlackBerry needs to remove their head from the sand and realize that everything all tech companies do affect the others. They don't exist in a vacuum, which is why the over the top apple hate is ridiculous.

That was and still is the most mature post in this panel yet.

As I'm reading these comments, I can say for sure the "maturity level" of crackberry fans is much better than either Apple's or Android.

People keep saying apple doesn't innovate. If it wasn't for apple Samsung would be dead already. Apple moves at their own pace. They don't need to reinvent anything when they keep beating their own records. But now they do need to do more than play with dimensions or add a few things as people are starting to get bored with the old layout. Which has worked amazing for them.

Dammit! iPhone just made it THAT much harder for BlackBerry. Hell, this is a stunning revamp. Gestures, improved multitasking, great new UI, better notifications...added security features, Safari improvements.

iOS car will pretty much severely damage any grand dreams Blackberry had of wresting control of the car platform.

allengeorge

Looks pretty damn awesome. The OS looks clean and well-designed. On first glance I like the look a lot more than BB10. Also, lots of neat features, including iOS in the car. Looks like Apple's done an end-run around BB with this one: I see lots of majors signed up (and I understand why).

DStLouis

It just look like Apple take most of best feature and target of BlackBerry and integrated them in the iOS7
Just to name few: Hub & Peek fow, Multitasking, car integration, BlackBerry Protect like application (..to locate, lock, or wipe your device)...
...Well I have to say that BlackBerry will again have to catch up ...again. Unless they've properly patent their innovation and could hold Apple for some times.

WhiteSpir1t

Where did you see peek and flow in iOS 7? BlackBerry Protect is copied? Multitasking is copied?

Sounds like you've just heard of iOS yesterday.
Quit spreading false information.

It's almost like apple listened to users and saw what others had and went in for the kill. I'm shocked I didn't think they had it in them

Posted via CB10

WhiteSpir1t

iOS is so modular it's not even funny. Any little tweak and update is easy to do. The jailbreak devs have been adding features since the beginning. It seems apple is also borrowing from them. Control center is borrowed from SBSettings. Multitasking swipe to close is taken from Auxo Multitasker. Swipe feature in Mail is taken from third party Mail app.

I loved the show, IOS7 looks very nice and I hope that Blackberry will take a look at it... i won't switch to iPhone, but it really looks very pretty and functional ;-)
What I'm really excited about is OS X Maverick, because I loooove Mac since I finally did the switch last year :-)
And for those who are asking why there's a post about Apple: It's always good to look what the others are doing to see what's missing in our BB OS or how they solved it... I found it very interesting!

Sooooo what's new? Sounds like everything BB10 already do. What sets it apart?

Funny to see the polarizing reaction to apple around here.
Apple is a rival to some blackberry users, to many other like me who use blackberry plus Mac, they are very complimentary.

Even the iPhone is a great device. Just too dumbed down for me. Howevef it is a great device for many.

You are REALLY excited about iOS7 on a BlackBerry enthusiasts website. Some would see you as trolling. There have been comments from others that have stated iOS7 looks nice but you take it to a different level...

For example:
"Wow ios 7 makes the rest look like old toys. Congrats apple. I almost thought u guys were getting stale."
How is this necessary?

"Looks like they took hub and peek and flow and made it all work properly and smooth."
Really? Mine is pretty smooth...

"Lol they just slapped qnx in car in the face with their own better version and by 2014 will be in many cars"
Another #$%@ comment about BB on a BB site

"Thieves can't turn of find my phone or even use once they wipe phone. Take that bbry protect"
And agian, Really?

Take the negativity to a iOS enthusiasts site, many of us love using BB10 and what they have done. If you like Apple, great, but is there really a need to be here with all of that?

BB10 is better than iOS7. I love both BB and Apple but BB10 is great. Actually Apple stole some features from Blackberry. "You can now swipe your finger from the left edge of the screen to go to the previous screen in the hierarchy. This feature comes directly from BlackBerry 10." - TechCrunch

Brutal Efficiency

Yay, so it is more BlackBerry-esque.

It's not matter who stole something, the important thing is Who do it best. And no question iOS 7 is ultra Fast and smooth

Posted z5

Saw the new IOS 7 and I can say that I am not impressed, feels like I've seen it all before. It's as if they took BB10 OS, Windows OS and Android OS and just mashed them all together. The explosion of color on the "New" UI is intoxicating in a negative way and the translucency seems not thought through fully. Rather than revolutionary IOS is looking like a huge recycle.

No I won't tune in nor will I line up to buy whatever...ICrap is coming down the pipe. How should I put this mildly...Apple sucks donkey balls, besides using child labour to assemble their products, in factories where workers keep committing suicide (Foxconn's solution was to install large mosquito nets...sorry anti suicide barriers outside the windows) at alarming rates, and now we found out that they're skipping on tax payments... A company that is worth almost one trillion dollars is apparently cheating on its tax returns...what do you think would happen to one of us if we did the same...ask Wesley Snipes what happened to him...

I'm tired of Apple and their bulls * it, their tiresome attempt to make themselves relevant and integrate themselves into popular culture (if you can call it that) in an effort to appear as something other than what they actually are, a tech company that wants people to buy their products and make as much money as possible (just like BlackBerry by the way)!

I'm sure there are enough Appletards left who worship at the altar of hippy dippy tyrant yoga guru Steve Jobs, and they will ensure that Apple's profit margins remain high as high as Steve used to get.

So nah, I think I'll sit this one put...but by all means enjoy...and all the best...

I watched the iOS video and it seems to me their new app manager/switcher is a total knock off of the PlayBook app switcher and it confused me why BlackBerry didn't adopt that PlayBook app switcher to bb10 because quite frankly I LOVE that and it looks so slick. Any thoughts? Not knocking, still am super infatuated with my Z10 regardless
