Leaked: OS 5.0.0.610 For The BlackBerry Curve 8520

This OS has been floating around for other devices for a while now and here it is for the 8520. This release is pretty much on par with tthat seen on the other devices. It's certainly worth the download if you are running a 8520 with anything less than. As always, back up your data folks and remember it's not an official OS.
*OS Disclaimer - Please Read: Keep in mind this is NOT an official release and as such is not supported by RIM or your Carrier. If you choose to install, do so at your own risk and only if you're comfortable in the process of upgrading and downgrading your device software. It is quite normal during operating system development for certain features to be crippled or disabled while others are tested, and these beta builds often reflect that. They are not always better. Depending on your BlackBerry comfort level, it may be best for you to wait for community feedback on a build before deciding to download and install for yourself or simply wait for the next official release. If you require support, you will find it in our CrackBerry forums via our extremely knowledgeable community base - do not contact your carrier or RIM for Beta OS technical support (their first course of action will be to advise you to downgrade to a supported OS). Follow the links below for more information and instructions. *

I've got an 8530 running 5.0.0.386, not an 8520. Can I/should I still bother downloading this?

LOL, all these leaks and official releases keep on coming for the 8520, can't wait to try this one and use it as a base for the hybrid I'm currently using. Wind Hellas will probably release the official OS in the next fortnight. For all you 8530 users, I hope a leak or official OS will be released soon!

Upgraded from 592. I have notice a much slower start up from battery pull, also a slightly longer delay from home to main menu. Will stick with it for now, may down grade back to 592 which was superb
Chrigg1000 Apr 16, 2010 at 3:49 pm
I noticed at start up after the upgrade the navigation was a bit slower, but now it's back to normal. Still can't spot any major differences...maybe better battery life but I never can tell.

I just upgraded my original 4.6 OS to 5.0.0.610. Now that is def. a change@! Faster OS, start up bar, icon highlighting when browsed over, One thing i cannot figure out is why do the icon size change? i mean whatever apps i had downloaded, show as twice the size icons. cant i decrease their size somehow? i am comfortable with scripting, but have no clue what to do here.....any ideas?

STILL no key lock...WTF?!
themenacexd May 6, 2010 at 10:43 pm
Everytime I go to update it says that the device software is not installed and to contact my carrier or service provider. So I tried installing the software I have from T-Mobile and it just gives me the option to add or remove apps from 4.6... And I deleted the vendor.xml file and still nothing... Can anyone help???
