Theme Roundup

Happy Monday BlackBerry theme lovers! It's time again for our weekly theme roundup. We have spent the last week digging through our tips and through the forums, to try and bring you the best themes we can find to grace your BB. Click through the jump to get our top picks, we have some really good themes to feature this week, and a contest along the way.

Free Themes of the Week

Non-Touchscreen

Mac-Daddy

To be completely honest, I am a huge fan of the stock theme that comes loaded already on my device. No matter what theme I load, Precision Zen comes back around in no time. The new theme Mac-Daddy from dannieloco, has made its place on my Berry and kept it for longer than usual. It has stayed on my device simply because  it stays true to that same stock flavor, while freshening things up and giving it a new look. Featuring some kickin HD Mac icons, and a very clean homescreen, it gives me that "stock theme" feel, while adding a great new look. It is available for the 9700,9630, and 8900, it can be downloaded OTA in the forums thread here:

Our free touchscreen theme of the week is Another Brick in the Wall by tom costello. While paging through the forums, I came across this theme and remembered running it on my Storm a few months ago when it came out. If you're a fan of Pink Floyd's The Wall, you'll love this simple variation on the stock 9530 theme. The theme features "Wall" inspired icons and some of the wallpapers we have come to know and love from that classic, making for a great look to change things up on your device.

Paid Themes of the Week

Non-Touchscreen
Big Picture HD

Our top pick for paid non-touchscreen devices is Big Picture HD by CTThemes. Chris dropped us a line last week to give us a heads-up on his latest release, and gave me a chance to give it a go before he did so. Now, I have said before how much I like the stock theme on my BB, but this one took my homescrren in a whole new direction, and I have to say, I liked it. Completely rearranging the homescreen for optimum functionality, it features 10 locked tabs for the most often used applications lining the top and bottom of the screen. Add in the 9-icon hidden dock, and a weather slot on the left, and I hardly ever have to leave my homescreen to get to anything I want to launch. One of the coolest feature with this theme is the huge HD pics that slide in when you highlight the corresponding tab for apps such as the Browser or Messages, and highlighting the icon in the weather slot gives you a clean look, perfect for showing off whatever wallpaper you happen to be rocking at the time. Available for the 8900, Tour, and 9700, you can pick it up in the CB store on sale for $2.99.

Touchscreen

WinMobile 6 v2

Over the last few weeks, we have covered a few different "platform clone" themes, including the Hero Sense UI, iPhone, and Nexus platforms. So, it only seemed fitting that we would show WinMo some love this week. That brings us to this weeks paid touchscreen selection, WinMobile 6 v2 by MBCustomz Themes. If you love the look of Windows Mobile, and want to add that look and feel to the beauty of your touchscreen BB, this theme will have you in heaven from the word go. Featuring a weather slot, today area, and a user-definable hidden dock, the function of the homescreen is on par with what you would expect. Clean simple "Windows" style icons round out the theme, and every component has been skinned to give you an all around WinMo feel. Available for all devices running 4.6+ OS, it's available in the CB store for $6.99.

Contest: We have 25  copies of Big Picture HD to give away. Just leave a comment on this post to enter. Contest ends this Sunday at Midnight PST. Please only leave one comment, multiple entries wont count.

That concludes our roundup for this week. We hope you enjoyed it, keep those tips and suggestions coming to our email, themeroundup@crackberry.com!

That Big Picture theme would go perfect with the big picture of my fiancee that I use for my wallpaper! (Bonus: it would make her happy too!)

I read this site daily and I really like the theme review days, but where's the love for the 85XX devices??? Seems like every context is for the 89XX, 96XX & 97XX - all good, but don't the 85XX users merit a look every now & then? Just a thought.

We don't mind changing things up every once in a while too. We just fired one up for the 83xx series a couple weeks ago. If you have a favourite or two for the 85xx series, send them to our email above, and we'll try to work them in!

is a very interesting approach to the main screen. As a wallpaper freak that one looks very good to me. A free copy would be a real boon. :)

But with 5.0 required looks like I'll be waiting a while for any goodies like this. :(

nice theme there wouldn't mind having that on my bb it's always nice to have multiple themes to change it up every once in awhile :)

Hey Crackberry - love the site - Big Picture HD looks like a fun theme - like to throw my name into the contest.
Thanks very much - hope to win.
Ben

The Big Picture ones looks great. The spacebar launch for Quicklaunch is appreciated, but could you add ShorcutMe support as well? True Blackberry power users will appreciate it.

As you may know, I love to try out new themes. This one looks interesting and I would enjoy having this on my BB Tour.

I too keep reverting to my stock theme after trying a handful of other themes. I even dumped my KU Hawks theme for the old faithful. However, I am excited about the HD theme and its use of space. I would love a free shot at this one.

I am intrigued by the visual aesthetics of this theme. I am somewhat of a "theme junkie" and would love the opportunity to finally get "on the wagon" with this theme.

I like the look of the Big Picture HD theme but there aren't any user reviews on the Crackberry Store site so I'm not ready to purchase. Winning a free copy would be cool though.

Big Picture HD looks like an awesome theme. I'm going to get it regardless, but it'd be nice to get it for free :)

I wish I had a touchscreen. Those are nice but so are the others. Big Picture looks nice enough for my BB.

Nice themes this week...Hope i get some at last, im a theme freak, and entering this game of creating themes hope you guys see more of me over here...

This is one incredibly beautiful theme, and totally functional. Due to medical needs, I really need to have as many apps on my desktop screen as are possible available to me. This would be perfect. :)

I would love to have a theme. I don't really like the crackberry themes for my 9000. Will Crackberry prove me wrong?

I absolulty love dannieloco's work. I am always looking for themes and i have never found one even close to his. I wish you would make mac-daddy 4.7. i have verizon and still don't have 5.0. thanks

The Reflect7 Carbon them is the best one I've tried so far. Not only it suits the look of my Bold 9000, it is incredibly versatile and professional. Give it a try!

...please. And the WinMo clone looks pretty good, I'm still missing the homescreen from my old WM pocketpc. This is the closest I've seen yet.

Wow, these look very cool. New to blackberry and themes, would love to change to a premium theme. Thanks for the chance to win!!

I really love that uncluttered look with the tabs on the perimeter and the super pictures that change when you move over the tabs! Good job!

The big picture theme looks good, if I can't win it then I will pay for it, but problem is I can't afford it for now :p
