BlackBerry Curve Calendar Sync Problems

curve frontRecently I’ve heard of some issues popping up with the new BlackBerry Curve. It seems that some versions of the Curve were shipped with a bug in the OS that causes some synchronization issues with the Calendar, including duplicate Calendar entries being created, and entries created on the device not being synchronized with the desktop email software.

The calendar issue is summarized at www.blackberry.com/calendarpatch. A free “patch” has been made available by RIM that will update each device with a fix for the problem. The fix can be installed OTA by simply visiting the above URL on your BlackBerry browser. Or you can also do a web install from your PC web browser over the USB cable. Once the patch is applied, you can view the status of the patch in Advanced Options->2007 Calendar Patch.

According to RIM’s site, the patch is available for the following OS versions:

* 4.2.2.66
* 4.2.2.67
* 4.2.2.75
* 4.2.2.81
* 4.2.2.85
* 4.2.2.89
* 4.2.2.90
* 4.2.2.89
* 4.2.2.103

As always, before upgrading, make sure to back up your BlackBerry!

BlackBerry Curve Calendar Sync Problems

What about 4.5 users? I didn't have a problem with my curve until I reformatted my PC. Now, None of my calendar entries will sync.

I too have the problem. The desktop manager goes through the motions of the sync, but nothing happens-nothing transfers! I also have 4.5 os

I was helping someone update their software from version 4.3 to the 5.0.1 because of the same syncing issue and guess what - the same thing happened!
