The London Evening Standard will not be everyone's cup of tea due to it being a regional app. However, many of us like to catch up with the top stories from other cities around the world so if you fancy keeping up to date with what's going on in London then you may as well take advantage of the free London Evening Standard App for BlackBerry 10.
We posted a while ago about some of the other UK newspapers that had brought their apps to BlackBerry 10, so it's only right that the Evening Standard joins them. As you would expect, the home page of the app contains a feed of all the top stories and images. Pressing one of these will jump you into the full story which is a lot nicer to read than on the web browser. You can instantly share articles with any of the accounts you have set up in your BlackBerry Hub as well as NFC or the Remember application.
The font size can be both increased and decreased to suit your requirements which is a nice touch - something you don't get with an actual newspaper. If you fancy just reading stories from a certain genre then you have the ability to filter the stories. The categories available include News, Sport, Business, Comment, Arts, Life & Style and Showbiz - something for everyone.
And finally the London Evening Standard even has a nice Active Frame. While the app is minimised the Active Frame will toggle through the images contained in the top stories - sweet.

Why apologise James for it being regional when most apps are so US centric for the rest of us.

Wow, promoting a generated app which took 5 minutes to create... but you're right, people deserve to know if Kate Moss wore pink underwear last Thursday when walking her dog... ;)
