The BlackBerry Z10 has been available in the U.K. since January 31st 2013. I'm pretty quite a few of you will have got yourself a shiny new toy already but here at CrackBerry we like to help out every which way we can and so I present to you the BlackBerry 10 Buyer's Guide: UK Edition.

A few carriers have yet to make the BlackBerry Z10 available direct, like Three but with Carphone Warehouse and Phones 4U covering all the networks, you can pretty much get it on all networks already. Have a browse below and see which network and pricing tickles your fancy. One thing to note too is that all BlackBerry Z10 phones in the UK are 4G ready. We'll be updating this regularly as and when carriers change pricing or start to sell the BlackBerry 10 devices, so be sure to bookmark this page for future reference.

EE

EE Logo

So far, EE is the only U.K. carrier that offers 4G (in selected cities around the country). With EE, you get unlimited calls and text, so you're more or less paying for data with your monthly charge. The plans below are for a 24 month contract.

Z10 Monthly Cost Calls Text Data
£199.99 £31 Unlimited Unlimited 500MB
£149.99 £36 Unlimited Unlimited 500MB
£49.99 £41 Unlimited Unlimited 1GB
£29.99 £46 Unlimited Unlimited 3GB
£29.99 £51 Unlimited Unlimited 5GB
£29.99 £56 Unlimited Unlimited 8GB
£29.99 £61 Unlimited Unlimited 20GB

ORANGE

Orange Logo

Even though Orange is part of EE, in order to avail of the 4G speeds EE offers, you have to go onto one of their plans (see above). However, if you don't mind your 3G speeds or because your area won't be getting 4G right now you can take a look at what Orange has to offer. The plans below are for the Panther tariff which gives you more data than others.

Z10 Monthly Cost Calls Text Data
£199.99 £20.50 100 Unlimited 500MB
£149.99 £26 200 Unlimited 750MB
£99.99 £31 400 Unlimited 750MB
£29.99 £36 600 Unlimited 1GB
£29.99 £41 900 Unlimited 1GB
£29.99 £46 1200 Unlimited 1GB
£29.99 £61 3000 Unlimited 2GB

Orange also have the BlackBerry Z10 available on Pay As You Go for £449.99 + £10 top-up.

T-MOBILE

T-Mobile Logo

Like Orange, T-Mobile comes under the EE umbrella but since you need an EE tariff to avail of the 4G speeds, you can continue with T-Mobile's offerings if you just want 3G speeds.

Z10 Monthly Cost Calls Text Data
£249.99 £15.50 50 250 1GB
£199.99 £21 100 Unlimited 1GB
£199.99 £26 500 Unlimited Unlimited
£149.99 £26 300 Unlimited 1GB
£99.99 £31 600 Unlimited 1GB
£149.99 £31 1000 Unlimited Unlimited
£49.99 £36 2000 Unlimited Unlimited
£29.99 £41 Unlimited Unlimited Unlimited

VODAFONE

Vodafone Logo

The offers from Vodafone are a lot more simple, as you can see they just have four tariffs you can choose from. The only difference between the last two is that you get 3GB of WiFi every month with the £47 plan.

Z10 Monthly Cost Calls Text Data
£129 £33 600 Unlimited 500MB
£69 £37 Unlimited Unlimited 1GB
Free £42 Unlimited Unlimited 2GB
Free £47 Unlimited Unlimited 2GB

O2

O2 Logo

O2 have quite a few tariffs available with varying minutes, texts and data included, as well as extra perks with the plan. I've included the more favourable ones here but you can visit the O2 website to check them all out. The plans below are on a 24 month contract. 18 month contracts are available but you pay more upfront for those.

Z10 Monthly Cost Calls Text Data
£349.99 £21.50 200 Unlimited 500MB
£199.99 £26 Unlimited Unlimited 1GB
£129.99 £31 Unlimited Unlimited 1GB
£129.99 £36 Unlimited Unlimited 2GB

Free £41 Unlimited Unlimited 2GB

O2 also have the BlackBerry Z10 available on Pay and Go for £479.99, plus a minimum £10 top-up.

Phones 4U

Phones 4 U

Phones 4U isn't a carrier, more of a mobile retailer and they sell devices for all the networks. So, while Three is yet to have the BlackBerry Z10 available, you can drop into Phones 4U to get one on their network.

Phones 4U sells the BlackBerry Z10 on the same plans you see above for all carriers, however what you'll find is that the upfront fee will vary, with some being free where you would pay when buying direct from the carrier. They can also offer a few other things on top too - more minutes, data, accessories.

Phones 4U is also currently the only place you can get the white BlackBerry Z10. In a bizarre move, the black Z10 cost £70 more than the white one. I guess they want to make the most of the exclusive right to sell the white one that their pushing that, if you're looking to just buy without a contract anyway.

BlackBerry Z10 white costs £479.95, the black version costs £549.95. Both are being sold SIM free.

Carphone Warehouse

Carphone Warehouse

Carphone Warehouse works pretty much the same way as Phones 4U. They also seem to be offering the BlackBerry Z10 for free from £36 per month. Much lower than getting it direct from the carriers. Carphone Warehouse are also known to include free accessories bundles too, so that may draw the appeal.

As already mentioned above, Phones 4U has the white Z10 exclusively at the moment but while browsing the Carphone Warehouse site, it is showing that you can pre-order the white Z10 for a delivery date for February 18th. So, Phones 4U doesn't have the exclusivity for long.

It also seems like Carphone Warehouse pulled away from selling the Z10 SIM free as there is no longer any details on their website other than it being on contract.

Still waiting for Three, how frustrating. 12 days until my birthday, if they don't sort it by then I will be moving carriers.

supercoolakshay

Is that a crack on the beautiful Berry?? :O :/

JORENO

Looks like a reflection of camera are person taking picture.

avatsaev

you making me think, someone ould make a drop test like they do for iPhones ipads and samsungs, we don't know if Z10 has the same awesome robustness as previous BBs

DJ Reyes

It is indeed a reflection. Definitely no crack on there :)

DivideBYZero

Phones 4U are selling SIM free unlocked Z10 devices from their website, although not in the store. Might be worth adding that for people that just want to drop the cash outright.

mrimg

Incorrect, the devices are available in store to buy SIM free too.

DivideBYZero

It's not incorrect as I stood in front of two P4U salesmen waving real cash money in their faces and they wouldn't sell me one, stating all stock was for contract or upgrade.

zhanif

After speaking to Phones4U sales and numerous stores, it seems like they are trying to tie people into contracts and will only sell SIM free from the stores in the non central locations or if they have plenty of stock. I have spoken to different store managers and they have said it is at the discretion of the store manager to sell them SIM free. Luckily I managed to persuade a store manager! I understand that the stores are getting more stock on Monday morning so I would try again. Ring around and ask to speak to the manager. Good luck, I'm loving mine!

I just LOVE the comments below the article !! (Well, all except 1)

weesteev

Also worth noting that Carphone Warehouse are offering contracts on Orange cheaper than direct from the carrier, for the £36 deal you get a free phone, slip case and car charger as well as a boost to unlimited calls!

uyi2g

Guess you assume everybody wants to be tied into a contract, well you are wrong
Most of the networks that offered it on PAYG, now claim it is sold out. Obviously they want you to sign up to a contract. O2 still offering it for £479 although it will most likely be locked to their network. carphonewarehouse discontinued their sim free offer @ £479.

cgk

You'd be crazy to sign a 24 month contract with EE when much cheaper 4G is likely to be around within eight months - if you are really desperate or really really really need 4G and don't mind be bend over a barrel go for it - otherwise, you'd be better off holding off.

bert106

Three can be purchased through Carphone Warehouse, £49.99 for the handset, and then I chose the One Plan at £36 p/m,

When I spoke to Three in-store, they said it will be £69 for the handset... Unless they change it before going on sale, it's cheaper to go through Carphone, although you cannot upgrade to this phone.
Meaning cancelling the old contract, which means talking to their dreaded customer services...

FLAVAOFDAMONTH

Every 1 On Three is forgetting a Few Things I was never a Fan of Three 3 but since the Guys who owner Orange took over I seen big Changes in there Service for the better

+ 3 will give Theethring allowing u to connected upto 5 devices

& only today have announced that there 4G traiffs will cost a small % but for most users will see no change to there Bill :)

I just Hope I get to See a Torch like Model on bb10

TommiTommi

Emailed Virgin Mobile, my contract is up in June for my 9105. Hoping by then I will be able to upgrade to the Q10! They are pretty good and currently list curves and bolds, so I am hoping the BB10 range is not far off :)

zhanif

I am also on Virgin Mobile. I have spoken to some store staff and at the moment, they have no idea when they will be getting them. I was too excited so went and bought one SIM free from Phones4U!

grumpy_nerd

Does anyone know if one can purchase a Z10 in the UK without a contract? I'm living in Germany and if I could buy one in the UK without contract I wouldn't have to wait so long and could even save some bucks due to exchange rates.

zhanif

I got mine SIM free from Phones4U. You can get from some stores or order online.

grumpy_nerd

Thanks, I had a look at phones4u (http://www.phones4u.co.uk/shop/shop_contract_details.asp?ItemKey=667806) but can't find a way to order without a contract. Do you have a hint or maybe a direct link?

grumpy_nerd

Nevermind, I found it. Had to select "SIM free phones" at the landing page and then navigate to the Z10 from there. http://www.phones4u.co.uk/shop/shop_justphones_details.asp?ItemKey=667809

grumpy_nerd

Looks like they deliver to UK only. :( Any other suggestions?

gonzo uk

I got mine from carphone warehouse on o2 £26 a month for unlimited calls and texts and 1gb data but only £99 for the phone. In the o2 store its £199.

NickUK

Went to Phones 4 U and was told it was only for sale on contract in store. Sim Free Z10 on the website was 479GBP on Saturday, now its 549GBP. Went up £70 in two days.

satchmobb

So glad I ordered mine Sunday eve! I wouldn't have paid that much. £479 felt about the limit. This won't do sales any good at all!

On a side note: My shiny new Z10 arrives tomorrow!!!

zhanif

That is shocking! Luckily I managed to get mine for £479 on Friday :-))

chan_the_killer

The deal I've done In the care phone warehouse was 33£ unlimited data with 5000 text and 500 mins plus 49£ phone cost, I think is a great deal on the network three, plus when 4g comes I will have it for free so it's awesome I don't regret it, the phone is super fast. Although they need to improve some apps but over all is a great phone I love it

kokotee

Hi guys.....HELP!!
This is a long shot, but here goes....
My wifey did an upgrade on her phone account on tmobile from her BBC curve to the z10. The guy at the ee shop suggested she went for an all-you-can-eat plan on the ee network, which now owns tmobile.
We made it clear that she was likely going to give me the phone to use (I'm not due an upgrade yet) to the shop assistant who suggested that we should both get replacement micro SIM cards and upon deciding who uses it, just insert the sim and away we go!
So we left the shop happy as lorry with our new z10, which worked brilliantly when I inserted my sim in it when we got home.
Then the horror began. Wifeys BIS service is gone on her curve.
She rings tmobile support and they determine that her sim will only work on the z10 as it was set up and 'configured' for the z10 only!
How is this so?
I've been back to the shop today and they wanted time to investigate the issue, though they were as surprised as I am.
They rang back layer to say that tmobile cuts services have investigated it with them thoroughly and see no reason why the new sim wont provide bIS Svcs on her old BBC curve, and they have reset it, so it will activate after a few hours at the most...
That's was 5 hrs ago!
I'm just wondering if anyone has experienced this strangeness too....and whether t is indeed true that the z10 and a micro sim have a 1-2-1 relationship only.
This doesn't make sense anyway, because my SIM card which is a different account from the wife's works perfectly in the z10 which is an upgrade on her account!
Hope I've not confused you so far!? Lol
Sorry for the length of this, but it was necessary to give the background....
HELP!!
