BlackBerry Q10 coming soon to Sprint

Sprint went official with their BlackBerry 10 plans today. Though they didn't say anything about pricing or dates, Sprint confirmed that they'll have the BlackBerry Q10. There's no mention of the BlackBerry Z10 here, which is too bad, but I'm a big fan of the physical keyboard.  Verizon announced availability today too, along with a bunch of international carriers. Anyone interested in getting set up with Sprint for their BlackBerry Q10 can hit up their landing page. Any takers?

BlackBerry Q10 coming soon to Sprint

Does anyone know whether ATT has a limited-time exclusive for the Z10 like they have had for various U.S. releases of the Bold line? I think that might explain Sprint's announcement about the X10. I also think the X10 has the potential to really sell if it comes out sooner rather than later.

I just might leave Sprint this march! I really have my heart set on the Z10. Yeah the Q10 is cool but with my contract up in March, I may just go elsewhere. :(

I asked on the Sprint forum regarding the images and received this reply:

- ZMC That is a good question. So far we have only announced the Q10, those image were provided by BlackBerry and are just for illustrative purposes only for the BB10 OS and not for a specific device delivery. Sorry cannot make it any better.

Full Forum topic here:

Verizon has announced today it will carry both the Z10 and Q10. Z10 will be $199.99 with a two year contract.

I'll take a black one. I just want a Z10. Carrying only the Q10 is silly. I wonder if they're afraid that the Z10 would eat into iPhone sales and are afraid to introduce another brand's full screen device.

Looks like ATT, Verizon and T-mobile have all confirmed carrying the Z10, so it might be time for me to part ways with Sprint since they also seem to be ignoring Ohio with their LTE rollout.

I'm right there with ya. Sucks feeling like the red headed stepchild in Ohio with no LTE rollout...and now no Z10?!?! Better get their act together real quick like or else it's hello Verizon!

Sprint's BlackBerry 10 page shows screenshots of both the Z10 and Q10. That said, if it's not ready for March, I will be looking at other options.

Just spoke with sprint, and they have no plans on caring the z10, just the Q10,this is such crap. Need to start putting the pressure on.

That may be the case, but more times than not, the people you speak to on the phone are pretty clueless.

But, my gut is telling me they won't be carrying the Z10. I've been with Sprint for YEARS, but come August when my contract is up, if they don't have the Z10 (or future BB10 fullscreen), then I'll most likely leave.

I just received a response from @sprintcare on twitter to this question I sent to them:

@sprintcare what's with the lack of Blackberry Z10 on @sprint news release, really not carrying it?

Sprint Care Sprint Care ‏@sprintcare

@Z_Mc88 We're stoked about the BB10! - We will definitively be getting it, check it out here: *CDM

It seems that Sprint is clueless (as well as their supporters) that there is a difference between the Z10 and the Q10.

This is from a different post I sent to Sprint's twitter account, and got a different answer from the one above.

@sprint No Blackberry Z10? #nevahold

Sprint Care Sprint Care ‏@sprintcare

@Z_Mc88 No official word on the Z10, hopefully we get it. Keep posted at for the latest Sprint BB10 news *DJS

Received another follow up from @Sprintcare

Sprint Care ‏@sprintcare

@Z_Mc88 Whoops, My bad Zach. I misread your post. We are getting Backberry10 (os). No word yet on release time for the Z10 device *CDM

Thanks for letting us know the response from sprint. I don't understand their press release. Why just reference Q10???!!! They really need to get their stuff straight.

I have posted comments on all 3. I have gotten responses from @sprintcare and their forums on their site, but the response from the forum was just the typical nothing has been announced yet and please stay tuned.

No matter what the replies are, if enough people ask them, they might actually see the need to carry the Z.

Thanks for putting in your effort! Every bit counts!!

That's what I did, sorry no waited way to long for the z10 phone, and I told the so been a customer for 12 years and I will go elsewhere.

I've been a sprint customer for about 6 years now, and I'm excited for the Q10 as a current 9930 user. However...not carrying the Z10 for ANY reason is stupid.

If they can waste my time sending me promos of every single cheap all touch screen phone from LG to HTC to Samsung product of the minute, the very LEAST they can do is try to sell people the Z10.

Don't get me wrong...I'll be getting a Q10 ASAP, but my better half uses a 9860 that she has completely abused since I got it for her in August of 2011. Not being able to upgrade her to the Z10 is a bit of an outrage.

Certainly a bit of a letdown today on two counts. The US has to wait until March for these phones? Not good for the compay formerly known as RIM.

And Sprint? Just the Qwerty version? I'm ready to upgrade to the Z10 NOW! I'm forgiving Sprint for a impossibly slow 4G LTE roll-out, but for not offering the Z10? After 15 years and the only cell service I've ever used - I'm ready to tell them where to go. This is 2013! Get it going.

i dropped by a sprint retail location yesterday to ask a rep about demo units of the new blackberries, and the response was "wait a few weeks".... i hope sprint doesn't drop the ball

Americans got we get to wait another 2 months even if I switch carriers. What an excellent way to scare off all the BB hope-fulls that remained in the U.S. That's just BS.. Hard to represent a company that does that! Pretty frustrating

Bold 9930 :: Twitter: @ChrisJaam

Hope: Sprint is bold and in a surprise move, sells the Z10 and Q10 before all the other U.S. carriers.

Reality: Sprint is too heavily invested in iPhones.

Glad to see someone else has made the realization that Sprint is too heavily vested in the iphone to allow anything else to cut into its business. It's really disappointing to know that since my upgrade is due in April and I was hoping Sprint would show some sign of life and take a chance. Oh Well

Q10? Really Sprint??? Personally, I don't care. I want the Z10 and I want it before March!!! I've been with Sprint since 1998! If there's no Z10, I'm finally rid of this farce of a carrier!!

I've been with Sprint for 9 years. And I really do like having unlimited everything. But I'm only giving them till the end of April to get the Q10 AND their 4G LTE service up and running. And if they can't get it done? Well, then I'll be taking my number and business to Verizon.

Click on the press release on that page just above the vid. Its the same sprint posted stating only the Z10. The article basically was written as the press releases became public. Guess the page wasnt updated after.

That's not cool if Sprint store is not going to have it until March. Not cool at all. My upgrade is on the 4th of they don't have it on the 4th, may go back to T-Mobile till Sprint gets the message.
I know what I want and it's not a cheap iphone nor another android that they update and force me to accept changes to my phone as they see fit.
HTC screwed up my EVO 3D with the ice cream update and I don't wanna deal with that lousy idiotic head game anymore.
T-Mobile is a good company but the coverage sucks in my life of work I need all I can get but for a blackberry I'd go just about anywhere.

Not only am I disappointed with having to wait till March after waiting for BB10 to be unveiled. Sprint not getting the Z10 makes it worse. I have the 9650 and 9930 but I've fallen in love with the dev alpha b. So after being with sprint for 9 years I will part ways. So Sprint get it together.

Here might be a missunderstood, I talked with a manager from sprint and he told me sprint probably will have z10 phone in 3 weeks less 2 weeks......and he told me that the company can surprise also the customers....... And my friend told me verizon in a week and half simply states "Sprint plans to carry BlackBerry 10 Smartphones". That to me means plural eh?

I'd say we should count ourselves lucky if they even deliver on the Q10, let alone respond to customer desire and bring the Z10 onto the network. They really don't care what you want, no matter how many signatures you get on a petition. If you could get 10 million plus, maybe then they'd notice. Less than're a niche player and won't be missed if you go elsewhere.

I ma waiting, and contract is over since last summer, and Ive been patient, waiting for BB10 release. And now this? They think we love them because of them, not true, we used to love Sprint because always have had the latest BB models.....I am going to wait for 4 more weeks...I will change my carrier if nothing happens.

I can't believe that, after all the years of being setup for failure, all of you long time Sprint customers can even muster up any real outrage! It's like being a Vikings fan; you hope they can move past round one of the playoffs, but you know in your heart it's not going to happen. Like it or not, Sprint is an Android/iOS centric company. They want the consumer customer, and that person isn't buying BB10 or WP8. So even if they do get those handsets, it will be after their competitors (so they can gauge interest) and lower tier (so they can say they have choice, but still save $$ for their iPhone bill.) BlackBerry better not be counting on Sprint to help them achieve any measure of success, because that would be a losing proposition.

Was at a local Sprint retailer on Saturday, and they hadn't heard of the Q10, just knew they weren't getting the Z10. So "soon" may be a bit of an overstatement on Sprint's part.

Sprint message boards are all afire, people sick of waiting and considering jumping ship (some have). Sprint is not responding to customer inquiries and people are hopping mad. I want the Q10 and I know that Sprint has done a pretty poor job with PR; I guess that's what makes them a second tier carrier. I'm stuck because even though my contract expired almost a year ago, I put my daughter on my contract about a month ago so.....2 more years, hoping my 9650 makes it (have got 9630 and 8330 as backups).

im so pissed off at sprint every other cellular company has either the bb q10 and or the z10 I want the bb q10 why why why are you waiting ill be leaving sprint if they don't have the bb q10 by the middle or end of july 2013 its a promise ill get Verizon no problem. so think again sprint wanna loose more customers!

As they say in Brooklyn: "Forget about it..." It ain't coming to Sprint.

Behind the scenes conversation with the Sprint CEO to his CFO:

CEO: "So many people want the Q10--we have 1000's of customers holding their Bolds waiting for this phone to come out, but if BB goes under after we roll it out, we are going to have to reimburse them, or give them new phones; I don't want the class action lawyers crawling up my butt again."

CFO: "Let's see if we can wait as long as possible to roll it out--this way we can see how BB is holding up financially when they have to report for the Quarter in Oct. If we see they will imminently fail, then we will be justified in not rolling it out."

CEO: " The Q10 is a great phone, but BB keeps screwing up. This should have been the only phone and the first they should have rolled out a long time ago!" " BB users want a physical keyboard, if someone does not want a keyboard, they will get the Iphone, HTC or Samsung, they are not getting a BB--that is why we smartly rejected the Z10!" "BB is just not in tune with their market and we could pay the price for that!" "How are we going to explain to our shareholders that we rolled out the Q10 just in time for BB to fold?"

CFO: "And worse, if BB folds, we can't get reimbursement from them for all those units." "It's going to be a bottom line loss." "I am going to pick up the phone to call BB and there may be no one on the other end and our customers are going to be yelling at our reps that they want their money back."

CEO: "I know, we are between a rock and hard place." "On one hand I want BB to fold because it takes the pressure off me, but on the other hand, I want them to succeed because we have loyal customers that want the Q10, and if we don't deliver the Q10 soon, they may jump ship."
