Alec Saunders and Marty Mallick take a leap of faith for BlackBerry developers
While in Las Vegas for CES this year, Alec Saunders, VP Developer Relations, and Marty Mallick, Sr. Director, Strategic Business Development, set out to prove how dedicated that are to BlackBerry developers. They took to the top of the Stratosphere Hotel to take the longest standing free fall jump in the world - 855 feet down - all to show their support for BlackBerry developers. Very cool to still see such dedication from the BlackBerry team - we can't wait to see what's in store for tomorrow. Check out the full video above.

Videos like this, make me look forward to a classy; yet exciting and fun launch event tomorrow. This has to be big! I really hope they understand this. Huge launch event, that hopefully gets some coverage on some national news networks... then a Great & Memorable/Intriguing commercial spot during the Superbowl.
(This is what needs to happen in the US)
Looking forward to seeing the direction marketing goes post tomorrow.

That video is cool and fun and well, it really epitomizes the new relationship between RIM and developers... way to go! If RIM can keep this spirit alive as they grow (again) to hold major market share, they'll keep those "grass roots" nice and healthy.

Alec Saunders needs a RAISE!!

Haven't done that yet. Maybe if I said I was going to jump off the Strat then I would've won the phone. :-) Looks like fun, guys! Thanks for all you do!

Wow!! Seeing this video reinforces my wish for BB10 to succeed. I will go nowhere near a rollercoaster let alone leap off the side of a building if my life depended on it. Certainly won't do it for a company i work for.
I am in awe of their 'leap of faith' (pun intended)

I am impressed!
You could not get me to do that. No. Uh-uh.

That looked like it was a blast, not sure if I would. Alec said "Wow..that's all I can say..Wow!" That's what we will be saying when we fire up the BB10 for the first time!
Thanks a bunch Alec & Marty for all your dedication and hard work towards something that so many of us are really looking forward to!

The first 50 feet of the drop, I'd have soiled myself. Half way down I'd have a massive coronary and be dead before I hit the ground lol.
